We had a very good time at our one week stay at Golden Sands Hotel . The hotel is not overcrowded and there are lot of space at the swimming pool area. Good size swimming pool is definitely a pros. Food was ok, room- ok for 3 star hotel at this price, but we didn’t spend much time in there either. Our big thanks goes to reception staff, kitchen and especially 2 bar members- for enthusiastic attitude, good sense of humour and first of all for playing decent music. The location of the hotel is good - walking distance to the beach and local restaurants and bars which are open till very late.

Just got back 27.7.22 from 4 nights all inclusive. Overall a lovely small clean friendly hotel in a remote area with very little to do outside the hotel. The room is basic and clean with a little balcony. Food was very limited choice always managed to have something for each meal although it was sometimes cold even going in soon as it opens. Snacks were a choice of 4 pasties each day and ice cream was only for lunch and dinner. Bar 10am til 10 pm for all inclusive never opened til nearly 10.30 and finished dead on 10. Choice of drinks was spot on lots of cocktails to choose from and never a weak drink, friendly bar staff who played choice of music throughout. No night time entertainment. Pool opens at 10 am which we found unusual. Barley any English there. We did enjoy our 4 nights quiet, child free get away would of been disappointed if we had come for longer and/or with our children.

good: We met 1 nice staff member, it was a guy working night shifts. He helped us very much with noisy neighbours and cool places to go in Corfu. Probs to this guy, some other hotel should hire him. bad: The breakfast was very bad. Only juice and fried eggs were ok. everything else was very bad. 1.st room we were presented to there was a poop in the toilet not flushed, although they had a sign on the toilet which said it had been 'disinfected'. Our second room smelled like sewage, had a hair on the toiletseat (still with the sign of it being disinfected) and the handwash was spitting out water so all of our clothes got wet. THEN we got presented to the the 3rd. room. It was OK. nothing better. Just bearly ok. We decided to stay there, since the front desk were tired of us complaining. Overall the hotel looks good from the outside, but very old on the inside. Noicy walls, bad cleaning, bad smelling inside, small stains on the bed sheets and big stains on the curtains and very bad lighting on the toilet. Overall a very disgusting experience. wish we would have chosen something else.

Let's just focus on facts here leaving all the feelings behind. PROs: -Price (but meh, more on that later) -Staff - they are really trying to do their best and help you. Kudos in such an environment. -Beach - clean, sandy, warm water, ideal for kids. Two sunbeds and an umbrella will cost you 6EUR/day, or you buy your own umbrella. Only consider the 700m walk to the beach. CONs -Food is terrible. Yes, it's all-Inclusive, but the food is being recycled and the variety is really poor. Some meals inedible. We ate in near-by tavernas and restaurants the last 3 days of our 7day trip. This was no traditional greek cuisine and everything has a weird plastic-oily aftertaste. -All-Inclusive - regardless of the above mentioned, you are really getting all the drinks in one pool bar from 10AM to 10PM. But the bar doesn't have enough re-usable plastic cups, so they are then offering you one-off plastic cups with a smaller volume. Also Ice-Cream is at the pool bar - but available for kids only. This just doesn't make any sense at all. Beer was very light (but OK for summer) and coffee was all done in one machine except of the frappe, which was weird as well. -Rooms stuck in the 80s with a very odd smell and a "friendly" rooster to remind you it's 2:45AM! (I'm not only one annoyed by the rooster, really...). But hey, the AC works! :) -Beds. Were. Stone-hard. These were old spring matrasses, while the springs got regularly stuck in my ribs during the night.... -Bathroom - Old and worn-out. But the staff did their best to keep it clean. -Animation for the guests. The so-called "greek night" was just another YT playlist being played from the speakers. Conclusion: If you are considering this hotel from the budget perspective, than don't. In case you don't have metal guts, you'll end up buying the supplies in the near-by supermarket and dining in the tavernas which will ruin your budget perspective at the end of the day....

We three adults from a group of about 20 people stayed for a week in this hotel from 23 to 30 July. The weather was very hot and the new Covid 19 wave was rising in Greece. This remote place was in our opinion a good solution in this situation. Our flight was delayed and we arrived later in the evening after dinner time but the staff in the restaurant was prepared to serve us dinner. The food was acceptable during our stay though mostly the menu was repeated. The lady at the bar was always smiling and the service was very quick. The best place for us was the small beach nearby. The sea was calm and the entrance in the sea was without problems. The only negative thing was that when we were going for lunch on the way back the lady at the beach asked us to pay again for a set of umbrella and sunbeds. However we faced two problems at the hotel. The first one was a very unpleasant smell which was felt almost 24 hours. When we complained at the reception the answer was that they know about this problem but do not know the reason for (in their opinion the smell was coming from outside the hotel and was caused by the wind!). We do not believe in this explanation. The second problem were the mosquitos - particularly during the night. The bathroom was full of them. Some measures should be taken against these insects. Altogether the nice beach and the quiet atmosphere compensated to some extent the above mentioned negatives but for sure I would not recommend this hotel. Probably there are better places to stay in this interesting island.

1) Room basic but clean. 2) Food canteen service with local radio channel screeching away. Only one domestic toaster they have two but saved one. 3) Bar outside, well opens and closes to the second wasps and mozis everywhere, I asked the bar staff "why doesn't someone find the nest" he looked at me as if I was from mars. 4) We spoke to a trader in the town who said the hotel is normally used by eastern Europeans, which explains a lot.

2 holidays cancelled due to covid so we found this Corfu gem at the last minute! Very good 3* with slightly older furnishings but spotless spacious rooms with a/c and our ocean/pool facing balcony was excellent. We watched the sunset every evening over the ocean and even a couple of beautiful thunderstorms! Meals were good with plenty of home cooked offerings. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, from front desk to housekeeping, kitchen & dining room all with a friendly greeting all the time! Nikki and Tino at the pool bar were especially friendly to us! All in all a great relaxing holiday for us! Highly recommend if you don't require 5*!

Our room was perfect for us directly over looking the sea. Equipped with fridge, water bottles, bedside lights, footstool, clean towels everyday and air con. Was just stunning. Staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming The food was okay but there is room for improvement. The advise we would give the hotel is to invest in insect repellent to reduce guests getting bitten. Corfu is beautiful

I just left here on 12/09/2020 after a weeks stay all inclusive. I will give my honest review based on what I experienced over the week. 1. The Room. Very clean, somewhat dated with wooden fixtures and a very tiny bathroom, which included a hairdryer. A decent sized balcony, and free aircon which actually worked. Plenty of storage space and our double bed was firm but not uncomfortable, extra pillows were available in the cupboard. We could choose the frequency of our maid service to change bedding etc which was a nice touch. 2. The Food. As all inclusive customers we would have expected better. Breakfast was fatty bacon, powdered egg omelette, baked beans and whatever was salvaged from the previous day. There was plenty of breads to choose from but they were all stale. If you wanted to toast your bread the toaster was so slow it would barely heat the bread! No microwave was available but is essential as everything was cold. Lunch was no better, reheated fatty pork, an usual fish dish which was like snot, an undescribed meat pie and Spinach pie?? All of the food was served by a staff member, you had no choice to choose how much and it was piled up on your plates, even salt and vinegar was rationed, not to mention butter and sugar, it was like being in primary school!! We decided to snub the 'restaurant' and eat out which meant we weren't getting what we had paid for and it cost us another 200 euros on top! Dinner was a joke, the same sad reheated left overs from lunch, just one look and you knew it wasn't going to end well. 3.Entertainment. Non Existent! The restaurant played music from a local FM radio station. The bar music from 10am was akin to funeral music streamed from youtube, after 12pm it was another youtube feed with god knows what which continued until midnight! 4. The Pool. It was wet!! Cleaned just once during our stay, the same inflatables and rubbish was left for days, it was only cleaned after our 4th day there and no more. 5. Location. Basically it's in the middle of nowhere. A few supermarkets to the left and a mile walk to the right to find anyone alive! There is a half decent beach but beware the steep descent, a sign that says 'To the beach' leads you to a steep drop so don't bother with that. 6. The staff. Can't fault them. Greece is in dire straights with the euro and it's not going well for them. All the staff were the most welcoming we could have hoped for. From reception to restaurant to pool bar we met some lovely people just trying to survive. Summary: My review has been honest, it was how I found it. Under the current circumstances it would be unfair to blame the staff for what is happening. It is what it is as they say. But they do have to take notice of their customers needs. You can't sell an experience and not deliver.

ust returned and mixed feelings but mostly good. Firstly you get what you pay for, it was the cheapest all inclusive we could find so our expectations were low. 1 Star - Food, it was not good and I can honestly say I couldn’t find one nice thing to eat. It wasn’t inedible but not enjoyable either. No upset tummies though. 3 Star - Drinks were typical all inclusive, weak and not great. Although the fizzy and fruit juice soft drinks were ok. 3 Star - Room, very dated and shabby but clean. Bathroom was patched up with random and bad repairs. Our shower wouldn’t hang on the wall without flipping down against the wall, meaning we had to hold it above our heads and some of the water came out of the tap and some out of the shower. HOWEVER I raised it with reception and it was repaired within 20 minutes which was impressive. My sheet came off the mattress one day and I was surprised to find a mattress that looked brand new. They were a bit hard (cheap?) so my daughter said she didn’t sleep well. 4 Star - Room and hotel cleanliness, we couldn’t fault it! I dropped something behind the fridge In our room and expected it to be dirty but it was clean which surprised me. On that note it was the best fridge I’ve had in a hotel as it kept everything really cold. Everything else in the hotel was very clean as well. 4 Star - Staff, friendly and always had a smile on their face. All spoke reasonably good English which helps but I’m not one of those that thinks they should! (cannot understand how people in reviews complain if English is not spoken. It’s a foreign country so why should they?) 4 Star - Pool and sun beds, the pool was not huge but was deep. We were worried because our 6 year old couldn’t reach the bottom at the shallow end and his swimming wasn’t strong, however it took a day for that to improve immensely. There was a little shallow kids pool but that was for very young children so if you’ve got little kids the pools are not ideal. Initially it looked like there wasn’t a lot of sun beds but it wasn’t an issue, we were always able to get two with a parasol. Overall it was fine, other than the food. As I said at the beginning you get what you pay for. Summary- food was bad, hotel was a bit shabby but very clean and staff were very nice.
