We have spoken to the manager of the hotel twice; wrote him an email and I have also reached out to the head office. They offered no help at all, no apology nothing about the terrible story I am about to share. We have been staying at Blue Sea Apartamentos Callao Garden between 13-24 October 2019 (11 nights) We have chosen this Hotel with great trust and hope for our wedding week as we have gotten married on the island. We have also brought an additional 9 guests. (5 rooms) to this hotel. We didn't spend much time in our room throughout our stay considering our wedding preparation, we have been running from meeting to meeting with our wedding planner then to our actual wedding and to family excursions and dinners throughout the whole time leaving the room vacant. I have a holiday purse that I keep on me one only when abroad and have left GBP 200 in the regular (I use at home) in a drawer closed away from sight. When getting home to the UK I realised GBP 150 has been taken out of my purse. (this was money gifted to us for our wedding from friends in the UK right before leaving) Our family and friends attending the wedding also gave us money in envelopes as a wedding present that we have left in our guests book on the table in the living room along with other gifts. We were shocked to the core when getting home, we realised that the gifts in the envelopes from our family members and friends have been also stolen from us 90%!!!! All together we are missing EUR 600 (in combined currency): GBP 300 and EUR 240 to be precise!! All this money we have gotten for starting our life as a married couple. I also came to the realisation that all my beauty products, underwear and gym gear that I have been looking for, must have been taken by their cleaning team also, who had the key to our room. Combined value another GBP 200. "Disappeared" items include: a Victorias secret bra and underpants, a Kerastese conditioner, several MAC products, a Nike leggings, a CK gym bra. I have bought 90% of the above items specifically to our wedding allowing myself some luxury. All of these items were 99% full basically brand new. My mother in law in the meantime has been looking for a bronzer and brush (from Bodyshop) for several days now also thinking she misplaced it, she could not find this after our wedding, she was staying with my mother, whilst my mother had a leftover EUR 35 in her purse after dinner she could never find again after leaving her purse in her bag again until breakfast. In the meantime, my sister in law put EUR 60 in her passport on the 14thOctober and when she got back to her room on the 15thshe could never find it again. (She put that aside to buy a birthday cake for her brother, my husband!) If the above mysterious disappearances were not enough, I saw other reviews from this hotel about stealing from other guests also. I am on business trips and holidays regularly at least 10+ times each year and have NEVER came across anything like this. When I spoke to the manager on the day following our check out when he has been claiming that he does not employ people who steal. There was nobody else who could get into our room but their hotel staff specifically the cleaning team?! We have been staying in very simple apartments (not even worth 1 star) to 5-star hotels all around the world and have never came home with even a lipstick missing not talking about money or anything else. To activate their safe, one has to walk around their complex to get to the reception and pay extra for it, “so it is not the regular let’s just pop a number in and use it safe”. We agreed we will do this but as we have had a very tight schedule simply forgotten about it. This however does not allow their employees to go through guests’ personal belongings, purses and bags and definitely not allow them to steal anything and everything they like. Also, they could not suggest that I should have put my makeup, underwear and clothes in the safe?…. This is extremely upsetting for us on the very first week of our marriage. Ruining our arrival yesterday back to home knowing we cannot replace the money that was given us with love and items that have been stolen. It does not bring me joy to do something to hurt someone and as such a genuine good will/behaviour was expected from this hotel, when trusted their employees with a key to our life’s’ most important week. Shame on these people. *To be mentioned also: very repetitive poor-quality breakfast, moulding rooms, several maintenance issues. BOOK SOMETHING ELSE!…
Rooms are fine, cleaning fine - would have liked to know the days for cleaning! Beds are really bad, very hard. We had all inclusive and foods are okay, but a little “boring” with only little variation. Nice bar by the pool, entertainment also fine 😊
Room size good. Large kitchen, but very poorly equipped - had to be creative to cook!! Most irritating was having to have coins to pay for TV. Very annoying to have to put coins in a meter and then only have two english channels, both news, available. No DVD player, no microwave, had to ask for a kettle! Sun loungers on balcony would have been nice instead of just 2 chairs. However it was a large unit, plenty of room and storage, nice sunny balcony, cleaned regularly, shutters on bedroom windows so windows could be left open overnight, safely, with a nice stream of air coming through. Very pleasant except for the items mentioned above. Staff helpful and pleasant.
Stayed recently and had been looking for a cheap holiday. You get what you pay for and therefore the rooms were basic and dated. However, generous in size and clean. Pool area was lovely with 4 pools to choose from. Sun-loungers a bit worse for wear with dips from use, but comfy enough. And no fighting for space around the pool. Lots of steps so be prepared. Local bars and restaurants were good. On the whole staff were friendly and helpful. Main critique would be the food was poor. Same choice daily, chips, rice , salad and some meat. Fine now and then but by the second day we couldn't wait to eat out.
In my Thirty year of time share swops. We have never stayed anywhere as dirty as here. I cannot believe R. C. I.have this place in their portfolio. On arrival we had to wait for room as it was been cleaned. I wrote the word dirty in dust on coffee table and had to ask for them to send cleaners in again. The tiles on the walls were cracked in the bathroom and on the balcony. The furniture was broken and dated. The communal areas were dirty and un swept with old beer and alcohol stains around the pool areas. Smoking was around around the pool but no ashtrays provided so people were using the bottom of their drinks to put out their tab ends. Disjusting.
