Despite its tranquil location close to beaches and local attractions, BLUESEA Callao Garden receives mixed reviews. Guests appreciate the hotel's affordability but often cite the trade-off in quality, particularly noting the spacious yet outdated rooms and inconsistent cleanliness. While some guests commend the staff's friendliness, others experience less than stellar service. The hotel's atmosphere and amenities are described as underwhelming, with a lack of entertainment and variety in food choices. Additionally, the noise level is a common concern among visitors, potentially disrupting the stay.

Myself, daughter and two children really enjoyed our stay here. We had a one bedroomed large apartment with kitchen near reception. Amazing views and sunsets and large balcony. Room was clean, towels replaced every two days and sheets once per week. It was hard with a pushchair going up the hill to our room and on hindsight should have asked for a room near the restaurant/bar. The staff especially bar, restaurant and lifeguard, reception were really nice and helpful.
Food had lots of choices and was very good, not just chips as a previous review said. The food was not always hot unless just brought out, even though there is a microwave perhaps some better heat lamps would improve the temperature.
Plenty of sunbeds around the pools. I was really impressed that the hotel has stopped using plastic glasses and you need €1 deposit for an eco cup. This is returnable at the end of the stay.
There is a gate at the lower part of hotel which takes you straight to the bus stop for Las Americas and small town and beach within 5/10 minutes walking distance. Lots of restaurants for a change. We went to Sunshine for great tapas meal.
Not really suitable for people with walking difficulties and wheelchairs and no children's club but will come again for fantastic sunny holiday.

Hello, SharonWestYorks, We are very grateful to learn that both you and your two children enjoyed your stay with us to the utmost. This fills us with proudness because this is our main objective. Our hotel without being high class offers a high quality/price ratio, which together with the quiet location and the great work of the team makes us a good place to spend your holidays in Tenerife. We are glad to see that you feel the same way. However, we will be glad to hear your suggestions, which will help us to improve our services. For example, your words about the buffet lamps. Finally, we can only say goodbye in the hope that your wishes will be fulfilled and you will come back to visit us again. You are always welcome to come back to the Blue Sea Callao Garden hotel.

It's a clean and tidy place to stay, most staff are friendly and professional.
The all inclusive food is dire, very little change from day to day, often cold (but you can zap it in the on hand microwave). Desert/pudding is a mix of sloppy stuff in various flavours.

One of the bar staff would make a good security guard, very poor service and almost shoves you out of the door at closing times. All beers and cold drinks in the bar served in silly plastic beakers that you leave a deposit in. Bar staff don't even swill/wash the beaker between drinks, not even if you are having a different drink. Maybe that bloke is a one off, he really doesn't belong in customer service.

Depending on location of apartment, there are lots of steps to go up and down on way to pools, bar, restaurant, out towards the local eateries and bars.

Dear DIW53, we are regretting being rated low, we believe because you have been unsatisfied with the Bar's service, but you must understand that the schedule rules must be respected for the common welfare and tranquility of the guests who wish to rest. Therefore, perhaps the waiter was a little strict with the closure time and we apologize if this caused your anger. On the other hand, we are glad to learn that your opinion regarding the facilities, the cleanliness and above all the friendliness of the staff in general, has been very good and has been highlighted as positive. It is a pity that all this was not enough for you to give us a better mark. Even so, we bid farewell with our best regards and thanks for your visit. Greetings from Tenerife.

On arrival reception was nice, clean and fresh, nice friendly welcome.

Room: quite a large space, two single beds for a couple not the best and hard as rock. Sofa bed we tried but it wouldn’t open. Quite a large kitchen and dining area, well equipped with everything you would need. Balcony also large with table and chairs , we arrived at night and were surprised in the morning to have a lovely sea view, which was unexpected.
Overall the room was clean, the cleaners came every other day, yes if you want to find faults you can, but overall it was adequate, tv is a € a hour, but we weren’t there to watch tv.

The location for us was slightly out of the way, but there was a bus stop outside the hotel door and the local buses ran on time and were cheap and easy to follow.

Bar service was great from 10.30 to 11, friendly staff good range of drinks so no complaints here.

Food, we went all inclusive and you get the usual staples of rice, pasta and chips, a bit hit and miss to be honest but we never left hungry.

Yes there’s hills and steps, but nothing that bothered us, but if you had any sort of walking issues it’s not the place for you.

Weather was fantastic, views from the bar were super, the pools were clean and crystal clear, plenty of sun beds, albeit sunken in the middle.

Smile crew / entertainment was to be honest non existent - probably the worst I have seen, little effort or thought.

Tenerife was fantastic but for us we would prefer a more central location, other than that is was quiet and peaceful, would it be like that in July and August? I doubt it

Overall a bit tired, in need of a bit of paint and maintenance and a replacement program it’s on a steep hill if you can’t manage steps and hills then it’s not for you, too far out for us. Good value for money though.

Would we return? Probably not tbh due mainly to the location, as we found all the staff to be fantastic.

Hello pmulcahy, firstly we would like to thank you for selecting us for your stay in Tenerife and secondly we would also like to thank you for taking the time to post your review. We are in the process of improving the services and maintaining the installations, so we are always interested in learning our guests' opinions. In this sense, we are glad to observe that the efforts we have made during the last months to increase the satisfaction of our guests are paying off. As you yourself declare to have been satisfied with your stay and have also pointed out the good quality/price ratio. You also have expressed a favourable opinion about the services in general and above all you have described the staff and their professionalism as excellent. We are very happy to learn that we have contributed to your happiness and we thank you for having expressed so. Furthermore, we read carefully the rest of your information, such as your opinion about the animation, which will be known by the head of the department. But you must understand that our guests are looking for tranquility, more than bustle, so we try not to offer entertainment that would be too inclusive or festive. Finally, we simply wish to thank you again for your positive feedback and to regret that due to issues out of our control, you do not wish to return. Still, receive our best regards from BLS Callao Garden Apartments.

Quite surprised at the previous reviews to be honest… but each to their own I guess!

Stayed here for 5 nights (March 2020) and think of one moment we felt let down by the hotel and facilities, especially given the location and price. Slight issue would be the Wifi but I haven’t been a hotel abroad with a decent one wouldn’t see that as a problem.

The hotel caters for everyone, we met someone on their own, lots of couples getting a break from the bad weather and a few families with kids and there is a calm vibe with background music about the place so everyone was just relaxed and enjoying their time away.

The room was clean with all appliances working and no issues, cleaner came every other day to do a quick tidy which was more than enough and if you are in the room, they were friendly too – unlike some places we have stayed previously. The rooms are big and having a balcony is great, comes with sofa table etc which all does the job and an onsite shop – they do charge for the TV – but if you fly out to Tenerife and spend time indoors watching TV, I think you should be more embarrassed than annoyed.

It was the first All Inclusive we have done and it was worth it – the bar staff were attentive and by the end of a few days they know what your drink is. Food was pretty decent overall; we only did breakfast & lunch but it hits the spot and there is a variety of options too. If its not for you, there are plenty of local restaurants and bars which will offer a little more.

Looking through some of the previous reviews, I think some are just unfair….. if you are looking for a 5* Hotel – book and stay in a 5* Hotel – it is as simple as that. If you are looking for a decent room with decent facilities, good food with plenty of restaurants around, 3x pools and an All-Inclusive bar then I would definitely recommend this place.

Went in March 2020 and am already booking to go back in May 2020!

Dear henryhoey, We couldn't be happier to read that you had a nice stay here, and we thank you sincerely for commenting on so many of the advantages that our hotel offers. We would also like to thank you for the excellent rating you gave us. As you mentioned, our hotel offers a good quality-price ratio, whereby our clients can enjoy a nice break at a reasonable price. On the other hand, you also referred to our good facilities, the variety of our food, or the friendliness of our staff. All this makes of us a good choice for a solo break, as well as with family, partner or friends. We are very glad to see it worked for you. We will be more than happy to welcome you again next May and we take this opportunity to send you our kindest regards from all of us at the Blue Sea Callao Garden hotel.

Loved our stay in Tenerife, but hotel needs a refurbishment, our room very damp smell. Not forgetting all the steps around the complex, no facilities for disabled, no lift, you need to be fit to stay here. Going into town beware of steep hill up to hotel, its a killer. Very old fashioned, food was like school dinners, we had our evening meals out it was that bad.
Rooms were basically cleaned every other day, bath not cleaned looked like bed was made, fresh towels n toilet paper stocked up thats all. Swimming pools ice cold maybe cause it was february. Drinks atrocious.
Like i said loved Tenerife but not the hotel. Its the worst ive ever stayed in .

Hello 65sandraz, We are regretful to learn that we have not been able to meet your personal expectations and that some features of our hotel have not been to your personal satisfaction. On the other hand, we apologize if some services have not been to your liking either; while we read with attention your suggestions. As we are in the process of improving and opinions are all welcome. Our hotel is neither modern nor high class, but it is known for its good value for money. Perhaps this has not been considered by you; but for many other travelers it is important. We bid you farewell with thanks for your visit and our repeated apologies for not being as you imagined.

Where do I start? As most of the reviews say, the hotel desperately needs some TLC, the whole place is tired and needs to have money spent on it; as far as the room was concerned -
my kitchen boiler constantly leaked, I reported it, had the pressure changed 3 times, then gave up and put a tray under to catch the water; the lounge fan didn't work, and the most annoying thing was that my front door jammed 4 times, meaning a wait of at least 30min's at night for security or maintenance to turn up and let me in, nothing was actually done to fix the problem though so good luck to the next people who have the room.
On the positive side the rooms are a good size with large balconies and I slept well.
Generally the outside space is ok, although there are a few broken steps here and there so you need to be careful not to trip(as I did)
The 3 pools are nice, the better one being by the restaurant, a short walk from the bar which makes it the quietest, plenty of sun loungers, although some suffer from being on the saggy side!
Some reviews say that the food is awful, but in all honesty it's not at all bad, we found something we liked every day and the breakfast has everything you could want, the restaurant staff are great, the tables are cleared quickly and clean paper tablecloths used for every diner.
Next, the bar - fair selection of drinks including 3 ready made cocktails from a machine which are pretty much ok. Good coffee both here and in the restaurant; Bar staff great too.
So, there are negatives and positives, but regardless of the problems we still had a nice time and the weather was beautiful; this hotel must have been lovely when it was new, now sadly it needs a little love and a lot of money spent on it, it is truly only a 3* so if you treat it as such and make the most of it you will still have a nice holiday

We stayed 2nd-7th September (3 adults) and had a lovely relaxing time.
Pool area was great (for those complaining about the sunbeds, 50 new sunbeds turned up whilst we were there), always cleaned by the staff each morning and maintenance were there every morning checking on the pool water etc.
The room (apartment) we had (179) was very spacious with a total of 3 beds (2 double) and a sofa bed (double) to choose from! It had two separate bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, lounge and had a large wrap around balcony. Furniture is traditional Spanish, just not modern but all in good working order and beds were comfortable (we slept really well). Room was lovely and clean when we got there and cleaning staff were always around each morning and would attend to your room if you put the sign on the outside of your door.
The all inclusive restaurant was good value for money. Probably one of the smallest buffet restaurants we have been to but the quality was excellent and the food was very tasty. Staff work hard at keeping everything filled up and the waiting staff are really friendly and super efficient. I really don't know what people are looking for some times?
The bar was also perfectly fine, good choice of drinks, sometimes a small queue but nothing major. We liked the Euro deposit for the cup/glass as it is nice not to see empties rolling around the floor!
Yes, the hotel is set on a hill and not suitable for those with mobility issues (do your homework) and the hotel cannot help this, it gives for great sea views! (they also can't help the part built building that is down below them, you can still happily look out to the bay).
If you exit out of the bottom of the hotel and head left and walk around the amazing banana plantation, there a dozen shops including some selling designer goods.
If you exit out of the bottom of the hotel and head right then left at the island towards the bay, there are a dozen bars and restaurants (it's not Ayia Napa but you're in the wrong place for that!) including Le Delphin set into the side of the volcanic rock. The cove is volcanic black sand and lovely clear water with a jetty.
Hotel towel hire is a bit steep at €10/week - you can buy one for €5 at the supermarket.
Staff were lovely from the moment we checked in (in the early hours of the morning) to the waiting staff, bar staff, cleaners, maintenance team and the lifeguard was a lovely lad (he leaves for University in a couple of weeks).
I really don't know what some peoples expectations are sometimes? If you want 5 star then pay for it and that is by no means derogatory to this hotel, it was great for the getaway that we paid for.
Overall, we had a wonderful, relaxing time, it is great value for money and we would definitely return.

Dearest Donna, You were absolutely delightful and continue to be so with your kind words. We are happy to know you were the first to enjoy the new sun loungers. We really don't have enough words to thank you for the extreme kindness you have shown to all of us, and we are very grateful to you for highlighting all the positive features we have. As well as the hard work of the staff, who not only thank you for remembering them all but also send you their best wishes. We found in turn, you appreciated as much as anyone the marvellous views to be admired and were amazed by the exotic volcanic beauty of the island, and its beaches, which pleases us immensely. We could go on for hours and hours because you have been full of praise for us. We can say - apart from all you have mentioned - the stars we were given are for such charming guests as you. We reiterate our gratitude ad infinitum for your understanding, and excellent disposition to enjoy your holidays. If we can, we will make your stay a magical one every time you visit us. We miss you already, but until we meet you again, we send you warm regards from the whole team. Blue Sea Callao Garden.

we booked this family holiday, with the way it's looked and how they was meant to be everything for kids! this was definitely our worst holiday...and our first room they gave us the smell of sewage was coming in the maintenance man tried to fix it but couldn't, and we was told by the receptionist the hotel was fully booked and the manager had gone home so they was nothing she could do about it! and sent the maintenance man again, and then all of a sudden they was a smaller room for us!! this is how it really looks it's a total mess it's need a full refurbishment, broken sun beds , the chairs have seen better days. broken tiles. glass around the pool sun umbrellas look a mess .and the amount of steps, you will surely have knee problems if you go here. and the bath/shower haha, you get a 2mins shower or a foot of hot water then it's runs cold and you have to wait 20mins for the boiler to fill up, this was an all inclusive holiday the food is a joke if you was homeless you would be grateful for the food, and the bar man!! that's thinks he is Vin diesel # RUDE ! the only thing good about this holiday was the weather, they was nothing for kids not even a mini disco, no snacks in between meals and just basic ice-cream, the cleaner comes in every2days and it's only to empty the bin and make ya bed not even change the bedding, and maybe brush and mop ya floor. i would never go here again even if it was a free holiday

Hello, 501lynettes, we deeply regret not being the ideal hotel for your children and in some ways, we must apologize for that. Our establishment welcomes all types of public, including families with children. But we are not only focused on the youngest ones and maybe you were looking for a hotel more specialized in children's holidays. We are very sorry and again we apologize for that. Also for other aspects that you have mentioned and that have not satisfied you. We are in the process of improving, so your suggestions will be useful to us to enhance. We bid farewell with a cordial greeting from Tenerife.

This was our second visit to this hotel (4 years apart) and we have never experienced anything but a good service. The staff are friendly and hardworking.

The rooms have great facilities and are spacious and clean. There is a mini market in reception that is reasonably priced also for things such as bottled water.

You will be asked for a €1 deposit on a reusable plastic cup, which is a great way of keeping the place tidy and avoiding plastic waste.

There wasn’t much in the way of entertainment, although we were glad of this as the hotel has a nice chilled atmosphere and the resort is nice and quiet. Tennis, mini golf and other events were on offer however.

Be cautious that for anyone with disabilities there are a lot of steps, there are accessible ramps but these are steep in places.

Although the hotel is a little run down in places and could do with a bit of modernisation, remember it’s 3*, and so you get good value for money.

The food is decent, but as with most buffets is repetitive, and somewhat limited for vegetarians.

However it is a short walk to some nice restaurants and bars if you fancy a change.

We’d recommend both Indian restaurants for food! If you want a nice cocktail for a good price head to ‘la romantica’ - friendly staff and strawberry daiquiris worth the walk!

The bus to Las Americas is also a short walk outside the hotel (be warned it takes approx 40 min to 1 hr, not the suggested 20 min!), making it easy to get around, for approx €2.20.

Taxis to the airport are approx €35 euro and much easier than transfers. No need to prebook there is a rank outside of arrivals. Reception will book a return taxi for you.

On our last day the hotel staff kindly offered us a room to shower and freshen up in free of charge, and our luggage was stored away whilst we still made use of the facilities.

We would definitely visit this hotel again and find the blue seas hotel chain to be great value, having visited a few now, you know what you get for your money!

Thanks for a nice stay.

Having spent 10 days at this hotel, I was somewhat surprised having read some of the reviews before we went, it is a 3 star hotel that needs a little updating, I emailed them prior to visiting requesting ground floor near to the bar and restaurant overlooking the pool and received a reply within 30 minutes confirming my request, room we had was adjacent to the bar with a large balcony overlooking the pool and the sea, living room, kitchen and bedroom, all clean and ready for us, room was cleaned and bedding changed every 2 days, food was plentiful but sometimes only warm, bar was all ok (€1 returnable deposit for glass) large measures and San Miguel beer, bar staff were excellent as were reception staff, 3 good size pools to choose from, could do with a few more sun beds as although there are signs stating they cannot be reserved people were putting towels on 4-5 of them early morning then going to the beach etc. , on the whole it is well worth it if your fairly active (lots of steps and on top of hill ) nice and quiet for a chilled out holiday though, no loud karaoke bars although if that’s your style the 3 horse shoes is only 8 minute walk away (downhill) happy hour and karaoke most nights plus quiz nights etc. , the masala Indian restaurant is a must absolutely pristine food!!!, beach is around a 12-15 minute walk, nearest supermarket is around a 5 minute walk although a larger one is just 2 minutes further, bus stop at bottom of hill if you want to have a day in playa las americas or lis cristianos €1.50 each way.
Overall a good hotel with good staff just needing some tlc.

Pools all have shallow ends for the children and deep ends are about 6ft. Food is the usual buffet type and very bland and repetitive. Breakfast fried eggs or scrambled or egg flan. baked beans usually cold bacon or cooked ham. Never saw a sausage while we were there for 9 nights. Lunch and dinner virtually the same. Chips all the time but some nights get you can get a pork chop or a meat stew or pieces of chicken, ham and cheese things in breadcrumbs. Chicken Paella, lots of salad bits but never any ham or cheese if you just want something to go with the salad. Lots of fish dishes during the week but only one sort per day and watch for bones. Hake, pilchards, sardines. Breakfast conveyor toasters take forever as you have to put your bread through at least 3 times before it looks like toast. Deserts are mostly small square cakes in different colours, melon, fruit salad, baked apples and pears and small white bowls of blancmange or jelly. Never saw ice cream which is very unusual for an all inclusive hotel. Always plenty of fruit, apples, pears, plumbs, bananas and kiwi fruit so you can take some away with you. Drinks from vending machine, fruit juices, coke, lilt etc and beer on tap. Small hot drinks machine but I think was only working during breakfast session.

Best place to hire a car?

Autoreisen Car Hire. Collected from Tenerife South airport and had it for our entire stay, 9 days. Only about 120 Euros and I paid extra insurance to cover tyres & glass etc at only a couple of euros a day. This is the only company that doesn't put a huge deposit on your credit card in fact they didn't ask for a deposit at all. Return car with the same amount of fuel as when you got it. Always use these in all canary islands.

They're all the same. Dated is a polite way I'd describe it
