Have been here twice before and have had the best holiday. The resort has gone downhill since its become all inclusive. Didn’t help that the calima hit the resort the day before our arrival. The pool was shut, outdoor bar shut and spa shut!! Most of the staff we came across were very unhelpful and generally quite miserable. At times it was impossible to order a drink and when we did most of the options for all inclusive were unavailable! Despite this we had a good holiday. Food was ok and rooms spacious although a bit tired. I think there are better 4* all inclusive resorts in Tenerife to go to.
Just back from a lovely stay at the grand hotel. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The entertainment guys were very good. Especially enjoyed water aerobics in the morning and afternoon with Joanna and the water stretches with the other guy. Evening entertainment was ok. We found the food good and very varied. The only downside for me was the plastic backed mattress cover. I would recommend this hotel the pool area is really nice and relaxing.
A great hotel if you like jam packed entertainment. Most of the staff were friendly and attentive - slow service at reception but due to the fact we only had to see them on arrival and departure we were not too fussed. Michele was the most fabulous barman, very attentive, knew what us and all the other guest drinks were after only being there for a day :) What made our holiday were the games and activities. Goran, Cedric and Alexis were such characters and we had such a laugh with them. They all encouraged us and the other guests to participate but also did not put pressure on you if you did not want to. Cedric and Alexis were fully of energy and gave a great vibe to the hotel - there was never a dull moment. They are both keen on winning the games, whether it was water volleyball, darts or ping pong - it was hilarious when they lost! Goran was more calm and did yoga sessions which lots of the guests loved. What is nice is there was something for everyone. The hotel was generally clean and well presented with a lovely snug area on the balcony overlooking the pool-nice for pre-dinner drinks. The only let down was the food. I do not expect gourmet food but for a 4* hotel I expect more than what was served. We soon realised breakfast was the best meal so we filled our faces then to ensure we didn't have to eat much of the other food. We just drank and enjoyed the entertainment which meant the food didn't matter so much! Overall a great experience and would recommend this hotel.…
If looking for a relaxing vibe with some fun then totally recommend! The bar staff were friendly and helpful, Michelé especially was great at entertaining when making drink! Lots of fun. The pool and pool bar was very nice, quick and friendly service from Angeles and never had to wait for a sun bed. There were three guys that encouraged playing games by the pool, darts, table tennis, Aqua fun and much more. Cedric and Alexis were full of smiles and bought lots of energy, Goran had more relaxed feel if that was what you need and did lots of yoga. It was great to get involved with it all but you also don’t have to, they had great energy. The entertainment in the evening was just as entertaining and full of energy! The food at the hotel was not that great, it did the job but I expect more from a 4*. Also disappointing to pay €15 for the spa for 2 hours. Bad communication between the spa and reception, reception told us we can change the pool towels each day, the spa tell you to keep them. The cleaners always did a great job. All in all it was a great holiday. The highlights was the drinking, the bar staff but mostly the entertainment, even to just watch it was so much fun. My sister and I haven’t laughed and smiled like that in a long time!…
Sadly our 10 days are over and after seeing mixed reviews this is how we felt. Firstly what kind of holiday are you looking? High energy, local pubs, shopping, disco's party party then go elsewhere. We were looking a total chill out holiday with good weather and good pools and certainly not disappointed. The pools were brilliant especially the large heated one, no rushing for sunbeds as plentiful. Pool bar first class and friendly. The rooms are comfortable, spacious with flat screen TV. Downside only ITV English speaking channel. We thoroughly enjoyed the all-inclusive food, fish and turkey were my favorites. We were disappointed the spa was extra but an amazing spa, cost €15 each for 2hrs. Local few shops about one mile downhill so uphill back but taxi available if required. Local bus service excellent. Area is very hilly, great for walking only if plenty of energy. So if you're looking a total chill out holiday in the sun you won't be disappointed.…
1st the good points you didnt have to worry about finding a sun bed the pools were lovely the weather was amazing The bad points the staff were rude if you went to the bar for a drink you would feel like you had been caught stealing someones hand bag !! all but 2 staff did not want to entertain any English people what so ever. thew entertainment was rubbish but we didn't need to worry about that as one it was all in french or German and 2 they never acknowledge we were there !!! the food was ok nothing out of this world but ok the rooms were basic but the cleaners were very good i must say The spa tennis and golf you had to pay for but the gym was free however if you use it there is no aircon and you are a hot sweaty mess before you have even stated in there. callao salvaje is a lovely sleepy area the only down side is it is a bit of a trek from the hotel however the taxis are iwould put this hotel at a 2* at them moment although it is very clean it is just dated the food and staff do let it down so much !! the all inclusive is not worth it as snack bar u can only get a toasty or pizza and that is only if it was the nice lady on at the time other staff told you the machines were not working lol and drinking wise well if you could get served it would be ok and i wouldn't mind but it was not even busy my advice is if you are english there is far better places to spend you r hard earn cash on rather than going here and having rubbish service and rubbish food…
The actual resort is beautiful, the grounds are well kept and everything is clean and tidy. We went all inclusive which was something of a joke. There is only one restaurant and a tiny pool shack. The info on Jet2 site said long trousers for dinner in dining room. There is no difference in food or ambience between the two halves of the same restaurant, apart from table clothes on some evenings. It was cafeteria rather than dining room. The staff worked hard but not enough of them. As a consequence you were lucky to get a cleaned table immediately and one drink during the meal. You had to ask for water. The food was random with nothing that really constituted a meal, apart from salad. At first I thought it was because they were catering for the mainly french guests, but each evening you could see people walking around with empty plates and bemused looks before settling to try something. The food, whatever it was , was always luke warm (at best). All tea, coffee and juices come out of a vending machine so not fresh at all. Even though the timetable stated All Inclusive at Pool Bar until 6.00 then main bar area would open this was never the case. The bar didn't open until 7.00pm so for an hour you couldn't get any kind of drink. Given that there were no facilities in the rooms you were stuck. the bar then closed at 11.00 and all the lights went out at 11.30pm leaving people in pitch black to make their way down the stairs. Such a shame as it is beautiful place.…
I feel compelled to write a review of this hotel after being worried about all the other hit and miss reviews prior to our visit. We've just returned from a fortnight all-inclusive stay (16-30th Oct) and had a lovely time! Our room (414) was perfect for the four of us (two adults, two kids - 8,10). The generous sized room was clean and bright and divided slightly giving the feel of two rooms. Double patio doors lead onto a massive patio with loungers, table, chairs and an umbrella. The room was airconditioned (although this did seem to stop working on our last few days...not the end of the world but did lead to a couple of muggy night's sleep) A maid would attend to the room daily - beds were made, bins were emptied and towels were replaced (if left on the floor) Food was always plentiful and there was plenty of choice (this did seem to shrink slightly towards the end of our holiday but this was probably in keeping with the reduced amount of holiday makers with it being end of season). Meal times were: breakfast 8-10am lunch 1-2.30pm evening meal 8-9.30pm Inbetween these times it was possible to order food from the pool bar, which was great for the kids who found it difficult to keep going without something before 8pm. Granted the all-inclusive food was more basic than the paying guests but it suited us and the kids were more than happy!!...cheese pizzas, burgers, hot-dogs, toasted sandwich and chips. All-inclusive alcoholic and soft drinks were available throughout the day until 11pm....spirits were limited to house brands and there was only one variety of beer...but this really didn't matter to us :) The beer was lovely and refreshing while sitting in the hot sun beside the pool and the bar tenders were very generous with our G+Ts! The pool area is a highlight...there is: a small, shallow, cold toddler pool, a large, deep, cold pool which the waterfall runs in to, and a slightly smaller heated pool on the other side of the waterfall which backs on to the pool bar where we spent most of our time. The pool itself was always clean as were the seating areas surrounding it. Plenty of loungers and umbrellas to choose from. We used our own towels around the pool but towels could be hired for 10 Euro if preferred (refundable on return). Our kids are quite confident in the water so even though both pools were out of their depth (130-160cm) they were fine. Maybe something to consider though if kids are younger and not too confident. There was a lifeguard present between 10-6pm. There was an entertainment team on site throughout the day who would encourage people to get involved in water games, darts etc in the day and family quizzes etc in the evening...not really our thing but it was nice to see others enjoying themselves while we lazed by the pool and played family card games on the terrace at night. Tips: Bring a travel kettle and some tea/coffee etc if you want a cuppa in your room as there are no facilites other than in the restaurant. Rooms 414-416 are bigger than others in this block...but maybe only offered to familes of four perhaps... We cannot comment on the other blocks as we only saw them from the outside. The area is very quiet - about 30 minutes to the nearest (quiet) town so great if you're after a peaceful holiday but not ideal if you want nightclubs etc...Hire a car if budget allows as this gives lots of freedom (we had a decent family sized one from AutoReisen for the fortnight for about 180 Euro..but there were cheaper options). A taxi from the airport is 30 Euro each way so we felt this was good value. I would defnitely recommend this hotel to others and would happily return again :)…
We absolutely loved staying at this resort. The hotel is beautifully designed amongst gardens with lovely pools and plenty of sun loungers. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The buffets were varied and contained lots of fresh produce. The spa is a wonderful additional feature and where you can get massage treatments and also use the different pools and steam rooms. The hotel rooms are of a generous size and have their own terraces with sunloungers. Fabulous hotel!
Don’t like complaining But tonight is Mexico theme food and we won’t be eating also we don’t like eating late anyway so at 5 o’clock we asked at the pool bar for a hotdog and was refused they close at 6 pm so we thought it was reasonable and we saw the hotdog sausage going in the freezer this morning
