Just returned from a great week at the Marietta Hotel in kefalonia (July 2017). Fantastic hotel, great location - around 800m into town where all the restaurants/beach are based. Hotel has a nice pool area, and food from the bar is reasonably priced and tastes...More
We booked this week-long holiday as a last-minute deal and got a big discount off the normal price for a mid-July stay. I'm glad we did as the hotel itself was disappointing in some ways. On the plus side - the Receptionist/Barmaid/Waitress, Sophia (or Sofia?)...More

We had room 33 and that had a view of the pool but between the buildings. It did have a large balcony and got the sun late into the evening as it was going down, as well as early in the morning as was South facing. Sat out in it till 8.40pm one night! Suggest if you book you send them an email or get the agent to request a balcony with evening sun as quite a few were the other side of the buildings and so were in shade from midday onwards.
