Stunning location, with amazing views looking at mainland Greece across the sea. The sunrises in the morning were magical. No sunsets as that happens behind the mountain at back of hotel.

All staff were very nice & help full. Lenny was the entertainment team doing all sorts of things, dart, water pool, DJ etc.

Food was fine, plenty of selection, but we did eat out in Skala a few evenings to ring the changes.

We booked with TUI and for the price we paid it was very good value. It’s not the Ritz but very good value. If you want better be prepared to pay more

The shuttle bus is helpful to get to and from Skala, we also walked into both Skala and Poros and got the courtesy bus back. The timings of the bus are a little odd, especially the one to Poros as if only gives you an hour to looks around the loverly little Greek town, there aresome nice restaurants the overlooking the see, good pretty walk to Poros fairly flat. Also, no evening bus, but local taxis are 8 euro each way and there always a few about.

For a week we did not need a car as there is plenty to see in the Skala area by foot, bus, taxi etc

The Wi-Fi was excellent worked inside and outside the hotel. Decent Tennis court.

Take a snorkel. Well worth doing and safe, sea warm & calm in October. We feed the small fish who hang around the little dock.

We were in room 402, a standard room in a god position, pool below us and restaurant upstairs behind us. There is tea & coffee making facilities in the room and a decent small fridge.

What they could improve on is better information on what’s happing each day and what the food will be on the evening. Guest newsletter, menu outside restaurant etc. Also, the pools bar food was nice but not available at lunch time.

They need to look at cutting down on plastic. Water was in a plastic bottles and all the plastic cups around the pool are single use.

It is steep, lots of stairs, so if you’re not very mobile it is not for you. Also did not see much for young children plus the steepness of the resort may be dangerous for toddlers.

My only moan is its not as billed, a true 5 star, if it was you pay a lot more. As it classed as 5 star you pay more Tourist tax.

Enjoyed our stay and Kefalonia is such a pretty Island.

Spent a fabulous fortnight at this lovely hotel last month. From our arrival to our departure everything was excellent. The management gave us a lovely large room with 2 showers, 2 extra beds if we had extra family members with us, a balcony with a wonderful view over the beautiful sparkling Ionian Sea and the hillside around which the hotel was artistically built. We were close to the large pool and the two restaurants. A complimentary bottle of wine was a kind touch, as was free use of a safe and beach towels. All the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly throughout, eager to help and answer any of our queries, We made especial friends with Konstantinos the buggy driver and Marinos the shuttle bus driver who ferried us most days down to the town of Skala and its shops and beaches, 10 minutes away, The food was excellent, a wonderful choice every day at breakfast and dinner. There was a different theme each night, Greek, Mediterranean even Asian one night. There was a pool bar and cafe as well, we loved a tuna pizza one day. We also enjoyed the meze on offer at the A La Carte restaurant. Entertainment was provided with activities in the pool during the day and a variety of music in the evening, Altogether a wonderful holiday, thanks to everyone at Apostolata, we hope to see you next year!

Booked a last minute 10 day R&R hol mid September as a first time Easy Jet package deal - we were extremely surprised with the ease and value of it all. Talking specifically about the hotel, it perfectly met our holiday needs - the hotel, not fully booked, suited us as grandparents (leaving the 'kids' behind) as other guests were like-minded, mainly English. All hotel staff had time for all their guests and we could not fault any of them with their attention to detail in a typical holiday environment - it's not a 300+ holiday hotel that sometimes lacks personal interaction - it's a smaller, very amiable place where guests and staff have time for each other. Of particular note - the Spa was lovely and Lena was superb very knowledgeable; Lenny (animation) was like a coiled spring always with a smile and ready to engage with everyone. The salt water pool was huge and sparkling clean; we had half board and the choice of food was more than enough (just had 2 evenings when the main choice was a bit boring) - we interchanged with lunch once so we could enjoy an evening at Skala (taxi 8 euros). Yes, it's on a hilly outcrop but we are early 70's and managed to get around with no problem - best advice is to be aware of personal limitations. Read other positive reviews and go with them, nothing is perfect in life but for us it absolutely worked - of course there were odd niggles but it is not a lottery-win hotel, just a hotel that is friendly offering everything to make guests as welcome as possible, Greek style.

Having quite a few negative reviews before I went I was concerned. However we had a great week.

The room was bright and airy, very clean with great air con and a working fridge. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The balcony overlooked the pool and was surrounded by palm trees.

The staff were very attentive, happy, hardworking and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.

We had booked half board, the breakfast was ample with lots of fresh fruit, cooked options and plenty of choice ….. including non dairy milk alternatives. I would avoid the very artificial tasting substitute for orange juice … was horrid.

The evening meal gave plenty of choice again, pizzas, meat and non meat options, fish. I would say the food was over cooked, but yr catering for a lot of people (maybe not a good enough excuse). …

Desserts on the other hand were amazingly good, plenty of choice and presented as an art form 😀

On the whole a great resort, plenty of sun beds around the pools, never too busy, spotless pools. And on the beach if you cared to walk down.

The resort is on a steep hill, there are quite a lot of steps to walk up … which got easier as the week went on. There is a buggy constantly oncall to take people up to reception or back to their rooms.

There is a free shuttle bus into and back from town during the day, a taxi back in the evening is 10euros, we opted for a taxi back to the airport as well which cost 65 euros but was worth it to avoid the hot, long stuffy coach journey.

Shout out to the guy on the pool bar always happy, played great music and was quite a comedian. The lady at the pool restaurant was so hard working but always happy and welcoming. The shuttle guy…never glum inspite of his repetitive work.

Also have to wave to Michael of Michaels bar in Skala I just love it in there.

Thanks all for a great holiday

After nearly twenty five years absence from taking a holiday break in Greece myself and my wife opted for a week half board at The Spa. I read about things like the location, yes it is remote and nothing in the immediate area to entice you out on foot. The transfer from the airport was a good hour plus. The transfer back took longer but this time it was in daylight so the dramatic scenery could be appreciated. I underestimated the terrain about the hotel though. The steps from our room and poolside up to the restaurant and reception were brutal. So beware for people of a certain age bear this in mind.

Upon arrival check in was handed swiftly and with the aid of a porter and a buggy, we and our luggage were transported as close as possible to our room. The room was spacious with a large bathroom with separate toilet and a washbasin and shower over the bath. Always plenty of hot water. The star of the show was the large balcony which gave a magnificent panorama of the mainland and the blue sea in between. The sunrise was beautiful with the horizon becoming visible as the sun rose. Perfect photo opportunities.

The restaurant was spacious and always tables available indoors or on the open landing. The choice of food on offer was satisfactory enough for us both. There was nothing unpalatable that we tried, the only thing noticeable being the temperature of the offerings which wasn't as hot as wed normally have, but we knew from those years ago that it is how the Greek prefer their food. Service in the dining room was a bit hit and miss though at breakfast if you wanted a refill of tea or coffee. There is a pool bar and a dining area attached but we never used that so can't comment on that.

Echoing what others have said the pool is large with ample sunbeds and certainly no need to be up at 0530 to reserve one. Our preferred venue for a couple of hours sun was the infinity pool outside reception overlooking the immediate coastline and the views over to Zante.

To get out and about the hotel runs a shuttle bus into Skala and nearby Porus. Not being sun worshipers the bus was a godsend getting us out every day for lunch and drinks. If the bus could not get everyone on board at the allotted times the excellent driver would do a return trip. Otherwise taxis reasonable at €8 per trip.

I thought all the staff worked hard and tried to please but in my opinion one or two of them were longing for the final few days of the season to arrive.

One particularly nice touch was the provision of a courtesy room to allow those who had a late transfer to airport to shower and change because of having to vacate rooms by 1100.

To sum up a nice hotel that gives you what you would expect from a Greek hotel. Five star in Greece does not equal five star in the Canaries. I will recommend the hotel to those that ask but will mention the aspect of the hillside layout.

My partner and I have just spent a week at the Apostolata and very much enjoyed it. It was very late season (first week of October), but still very warm and sunny.

The transfer from the airport was between 1h 15 and 1h30, by the time we’d done a few pick ups on the way.

We were very happy with the room – we paid a bit more for a sea view. The room has a small fridge, kettle, hair dryer and the toiletries were replenished in the bathroom.

The two pools were great. We spent most of our time at the large one at the bottom. There were few people, plenty of sun loungers and there was no music before 1640. The one by reception is very much smaller, with only a couple of sun loungers.

The wifi is excellent – both in our room (in the main block) and by the pool

The food was really good – perfectly hot and with a lot of choice. There were different salads and main course options every night, as well as the staples (fresh pizza, & pasta). There was also a variety of fresh bread and about ten puddings to choose from.

The place was clean and the staff were very friendly.

The tennis courts are astroturf and play very nicely. We had them to ourselves each evening.

The gym is small and while the spa opens at 1000, the reception staff open the gym at any time.

There is one treadmill and cross trainer. The other treadmill and bike don’t work.

There is:

• A multi gym with a lat pull down/ low row
• A combined bench press (flat & incline) and shoulder press
• And a leg extension/curl
• The dumbbells are 20/18/16/10/8/5/3 kg
• There’s also a flat/incline bench and one for back extensions

There’s a free bus into the little town - Skala (c5 mins drive away) about 4/5 times a day.

There are quite a few cats about the place; most well fed and very friendly. If you’re that way inclined, they never turn down food (available cheaply from the Skala food shops) but what a few could do with is a drop of anti flea lotion &/ or worming tablets, which we couldn’t find in the shops.

We’d definitely go back

We stopped at this hotel on a half board basis. Very spacious room with a panoramic sea view but I would suggest all rooms have a sea view due to the configuration of the hotel all facing the sea. Rooms have tea & coffee, kettle, fridge. The tea & coffee largely didn’t get renewed but the reception staff supplied additional on request. A safety deposit box was in room but at a cost of €3 per day. Each room also had a €4 Greek tax per room per day to be paid at check out. Beach towels are provided but require a €10 returnable deposit.

The hotel is hilly & to commute from the pool to reception or dining area largely involved navigating up multiple steps.
The pool was very large, clean with enough sun beds & the adjoining pool bar & lunch type meals was very good.
There is access to the sea at the south of the hotel but it isn’t a beach but ladder access into the sea.

Meals on our half board basis we thought were good but after 7 days was repetitive. If you were going into the adjoining town Skala you could take your evening meal at lunchtime which was advantageous.

A free minibus was available to transport guests to Skala which was 10 min duration away. Times were largely every 2hrs & the 12 seater bus was full at times but the driver would make a return trip. The last return bus back to the hotel was 17.30 but the local taxis were very reliable at a cost of €7. There was some very good local restaurants in Skala & we would recommend a visit.

A negative for the hotel was that you can book the A La Carte restaurant & at half board attain a 30% discount. We ate there on 17th June, ordered medium cooked Rib Eye Steak & it was cooked beyond burnt, which was very disappointing. We complained to the waitress who offered to reissue the meal, we declined to avoid the hassle but with hindsight we should have done it, was very poor. In addition the A La Carte restaurant was closed on Saturday for a wedding (which was very noisy) & Sunday didn’t open at all so booking is limited if there for only 7 days.

Entertainment was provided each night by the same man & woman & although are talented & work hard, every night is too much singing Greek & ABBA type songs, need some variety.

The staff are pleasant & work very hard, Roubini & Perilous are worthy of special praise.

The hotel is secluded with no bars or supermarkets in close proximity, so no leisurely walks.

Some areas of the hotel decor is tired (decking around the pool etc).

We had an enjoyable stay but would have been better to be located closer to Skala.

Amazing holiday beautiful hotel lots of steps.
We were in room 503 amazing views great room location closer to the restaurant, reception and bar. Quite a long walk down to the main pool.
Tea coffee fridge and hairdryer in the room.
The hotel itself is situated between Skala and Porros closer to Skala, both of which they run free shuttle busses too every day at set times, they take about 10 minutes, and if you can't get on the driver is more than happy to do two runs. Alternatively it's about 8 euros by taxi, Skala has a taxi waiting area right on the beachfront, so if you want to go down there when the free busses aren't on you can. Skala has miles of perfect beaches, with loungers/umbrellas you can rent, across the road there are dozens of places to eat, drink and shop, and boat tours.

Small Infinity pool upstairs by reception only 8 sun beds around this pool but chairs and tables.

Golf buggy takes cases to the hotel room if you are far away. You can also ask them at anytime to take you to the pool or restaurant

€20 for safe €28 Tax

Transfer from the airport about an hours and a half drive.

The hotel has entertainment most evenings that goes on until around 11:30. It’s a bit repetitive Greek night twice and sax 🎷 player twice.

The main pool is large and has plenty of loungers and umbrellas, a pool side bar and restaurant you can get cocktails, pizza, and enormous mixed grills to share as well as dozens of other options. If your AI you can get snacks from here from 2.30 until 5.30
Behind the pool there are steps which take you to the sea with a few sun beds to lie on.

Bottle water given out free if on AI.

The hotel wifi is free and works perfectly for quite a long distance, right down to the sea. But it was lovely swimming in the sea down there.

Just be prepared for the stairs and hills!!

There is plenty of wardrobe space, and four cupboards for your personal effects, but no drawers.

We found all the staff amazing and friendly. Bar staff Demi and Koster on pool bar need a mention. And the upstairs staff (forgot her name) two with dark hair. Night time snd day staff all great. The younger boy who was collecting glass very friendly. I loved the peach cocktail it was beautiful.

Moments white wine lovely

Fantastic holiday we probably wouldn’t return only because we like to try different areas no other reason

Thank you all

This hotel is definitely not a 4/5* hotel, 3* at most. The food in the Sea Pearl restaurant was either dried up, burnt or floating in grease. Breakfast didn't have a great selection, no fresh orange juice just watery orange from machine. Hot water and coffee were served to you when you sat down and I think it would have been better self service. I don't think we had a hot meal in the week we were there apart from when we went to the restaurant upstairs, which was lovely but you could only go once if you stayed all inclusive and it was only open a few nights, probably because it was nearing the end of the season . The staff there were very good, tended to all your needs. On the good side the hotel was in a beautiful location on the hillside with fantastic sea views. Downside was the amount of crooked steps down to the large pool where there were plenty of sunbeds. Whilst we were there a lady fell down the steps and broke her ankle so something definitely needs sorting out with them. There was also a small pool with 9 sunbeds and tables and chairs behind the bar on the reception level which we used a few days, which was lovely and peaceful. Entertainment in the hotel was extremely poor out of 7 days there was a saxophonist on twice, greek night twice and a DJ who played all greek music once. The room we had was very basic and the bed was very comfortable, towels changed every day. Shuttle bus to Skala and Poros were good and we got the local bus to Argostoli from the bus stop outside the hotel one day. Shame about the food and entertainment because the location was lovely.

Just spent a week here recently with family. On arrival we were allocated our interconnecting rooms (family of five) and given a bottle of water each which was a nice touch.

The rooms were ok. We thought personally a little dated. Both rooms contained a bath and shower above the bath and a separate shower in the toilet area which was a little odd as every time we showered the floor was wet through and quite dangerous if you needed to use the toilet.

The cleaner did come in every day and make the beds and empty the bins but I think that was about it.

What made the rooms were the view over looking the sea.

We were there on a half board basis and again the food was ok. Pretty basic and standard and not much choice on an evening and so hot where you actually got your food didn't seem to be any air conditioning (feel sorry for the staff working there).

We drank in the lobby/bar some evenings which again was just ok. The entertainment was the same saxophonist twice and traditional Greek music twice and a DJ one night. Again what made the bar area was the view.

The pool area was nice never used the pool bar for food so can't comment.

The hotel itself is very isolated we did have a car so ventured out each day. It was a very long walk into Skala there is a shuttle bus but we didn't use it.

Overall we enjoyed our holiday but we wouldn't return.

We didn't use the gym as we walk & swim for exercise, but did see it when we were in the Spa and my husband thought it looked good. It will depend on when you go on holiday - in school hols there are always lots of kids in family hotels. We were there in May and there were some kids, but there were a lot more in the San Giorgio which was our other drop off/pick up.

It leaves hotel at 10, 11, 1.30, 4.20 and 5.20. Return is 1130, 2, 4.30 and 5.30. We were there in May and thought these times could be improved to work better for guests.

There is a golf buggy that can take you from reception to the pool. There is no beach at the hotel, just a small concreted area, but you can get the hotel minibus to Skala which has a long lovely beach area. There is a lift in reception which goes up to some rooms and the small restaurant and a lift near the main restaurant which goes to some other rooms. If you struggle with mobility I would look for another hotel as there are steps everywhere due to the hotel being built into a hillside.

All inclusive typically includes everything right up untill your moment of departre from the hotel. If the wrist band is still on your wrist then yo uare part of the all inclusive (assumes they use the wristband method ofcourse)
