The view from the hotel, and Joanna was the best thing about the hotel, I appreciate that rooms are typically basic in Greece, but some much needed repairs were needed in our room. What got my back up was the greeting, from the owner, "Hello welcome, this is my maid, it would have been nice if she would have addressed her with a name, especially as Joanna was the loveliest and hard working lady, nothing was too much trouble. Wifi was €10 the air con €45 food and drink was expensive too and why no one stayed in the bar.
Small & friendly 3 star hotel friendly staff breakfast continental very basic changed our room after 2 days as we booked full sea view but had pour view next room was lovely room Outside by wher a large infinity pool & plenty of sun beds was 5 star disappointed first 3 days but grew to love the place even the 2 mile walk to the village but cab back as up a very steep hill
If you're looking for an escape to the sun in beautiful Kefalonia.. and wish to book a friendly, inexpensive hotel (3☆) that's a short stroll to the beach, restaurants and town centre... then you couldn't do wrong to book your stay in the Livadaki Village Hotel. The staff are welcoming and helpful, and the accommodation is comfortable and adequate. The beach and nearby restaurants are approximately 12 - 15 minutes walk away, and the hotel offers a wonderful view of the morning sunrise. A cotinental breakfast is served daily, and bar snacks are available during the day.
Fabulous location - just above the main Skala resort - in such a peaceful location with stunning views. Lovely Sophia is a wonderful host and her staff are lovely. The room was great with a balcony looking out to sea and the hills behind. The pool was perfect. Everything is set amongst wonderful gardens of olive and lemon trees and roses etc all created by Sophia herself! Will be returning. It feels like we've found an oasis.
Livadaki is a beautiful peaceful place .The pool and gardens are truly outstanding full of fig olive and lemon trees. The beds are really comfortable and rooms are clean, plenty of storage space. .The breakfast is fine, Greek yougurt with honey and muesli and fresh soft bread with cheese tomatoes and ham, fresh fruit cut up on plates.I am not sure why people slate the breakfast here in some reviews as it is a typical Greek breakfast. The issue of the hill is certainly overplayed on here, we are two sixty somethings and found it okay, ....a steep climb for sure on two little bits of the road but a taxi is 5 euro so if you really can’t walk uphill there is that option. Sophia is the loveliest lady . She is friendly and charming, her book”The Promised Journey” is based on the true story of her fathers life And encompasses the history of the Greek expulsions from Turkey .It is an extremely moving story and to read it staying in Kefalonia where some of the story takes place is quite profound . David is a credit to the hotel and to Sophia Altogether a wonderful charming hotel that has an air of old Greece about it kept alive by Sophia . Long may it stay the relaxed and serene place that is Livadaki…
