We stayed at the Astuy 19th September for 3 nights. The location is superb overlooking the Atlantic with a safe bathing beach which is sheltered by huge rocks. The hotel staff are all very friendly, we ate all our meals at the Astuy. Lunches were taken outside the terrace,Pinxtos are great and priced at 1euro 75 cents each, sharing three...

A few steps to a wonderful tidal beach & countless well-stocked rock pools. Hotel is modern (a 2006 refurb was tastefully done & bathroom lovely). Apartment was spacious, utensils/crockery aplenty in mini-kitchen & the views over the bays were a joy. The bedroom backed on to the road and was immediately opposite a noisy bar that opened at around 2230...

We stayed here for four nights, having travelled by car ferry from Portsmouth to Santander. The hotel is good value, spotlessly clean and the rooms are a good size, we had a sea view which was fantastic. Wi Fi is fast and available. Breakfasts are excellent. We ate dinner here twice and the service was really friendly and helpful and...

We had to change our plans and take a ferry to Santander. Just picked a place on the coast at a convenient distance. This was a seaside town that was not yet in its holiday season, nothing was busy. The place had a beautiful seaside setting. The building was either very new or very effectively refurbished. Everything in our room...

Since we last stayed here a few years ago, this seaside hotel has undergone a major refurbishment. The well proportioned room, with a lovely view of the beach and sea beyond the rocks, had a floor to ceiling sliding window letting in lots of light. Decor consists of light wood, cream and pale brown colours-easy on the eye. Comfortable bed...

My family and I stayed off season at the Apartmentos Astuy, on the third floor with the wrap around balcony, which is huge! The view of the beaches, mountains are tremendous. The local seafood is insane; langosta, bagavonte and paella galore. The parking lot is noisy, but the Spanish are loud like Americans, so we felt at home. The apartment...

lovely to return to this family run hotel - as ever the location overlooking the clear blue sea is wonderful. nice friendly staff, good food, and perfect weather. Isla is a bustling resort not too far from Santander and the magnificent Picos mountains, both well worth a Visit and isla and the Astuy hotel make an excellent base.

Excellent location, next to Ocean with good parking. Promised free wifi - sorry, it's virtually non-existent in our room, spotty at best. Apartments nice, but no air conditioning - seeing as it is SO INCREDIBLY noisy (Spanish life outside apartments & slamming doors), windows needed to stay shut resulting in very warm conditions in apartment. Pool was okay for high...

We were staying with Spanish friends in Cantabria for two weeks in early July and decided to give them a break for a few nights. Having discovered Isla driving round one day, we just had to come back and made a last minute booking at the Astuy. We had a standard room with no frills but it was on the...
