All rooms had safes but I recall someone talking about “their” safe and it sounded a bit different to “ours”, so, at that time, some safes may have been more modern/user-friendly than others. We were with several other couples and in several rooms the guests had problems - to the extent that our tour company rep referred to “safe-gate”. Some safes were very different to the information sheets in the rooms.
The safes that were problematic needed to have a short magnetic key rod inserted in a hole in the lock, inside the safe door, before the keypad would work. Ours was missing, yet the info sheet explained how to open and lock a completely different type of keypad.
The be fair, the staff eventually found one of the little rods for us, but not before the maintenance guy had been up twice trying to figure out the problem!
Check the safe as soon as you arrive, so that, if you are unlucky enough to need assistance, you can tell Reception straight away and they will sort things out.
