Wow! This place was amazing! It is a 30-45 minute boat ride to get out to this remote caye. Once there there are a small number of rooms. Each day breakfast, lunch and dinner are served and they are delicious. There are kayaks and paddle boards for your use and the offer a number of different snorkeling trips. The rooms... More

Pelican Beach Resort in Dangriga owns the southern portion of this 15-acre island, and their part includes the only good sandy beach. The resort consists of several mostly duplex cabins set amongst the coconut palms, so you're "in the trees" with an ocean view beyond. Meals are served in a separate stand-alone lodge, prepared by the staff skilled in Belizean... More

We are a family of 3 and stayed 4 days at this island resort. What a wonderful place to enjoy the island relaxation and the water activities. We had "snorkeling guides" available for morning and afternoon adventures to the reef - the resort is within swimming distance to the reef. You can do as little or as much as you... More

It was amazing privilege to stay on South Water Caye. The island is just beautiful - white sand beaches and the bluest sea you've ever seen, with hammocks strewn around in shady spots. OK, the accommodation is pretty tired and the whole place could do with a bit of a refurb, but that is really part of the charm -... More

Thanks for taking the time for the review! It's been a bit busy and we've focused on the guests not the buildings. Sorry about that - we're doing lots of refinishing over the next few months! More

And our 6th stay at Pelican Beach on South Water Caye proves it. My husband and I agree (after over 40 years together) that nothing puts us more in honeymoon mode than vacation time here. It's pure bliss to snorkel together, discovering nature's wonders together, hanging out in hammocks, watching birds or the sun rising or setting, strolling under the... More

We have been to Belize before, and were specifically searching for some place that we could snorkel and swim right off the beach. I am SO glad that I happened upon Pelican Beach. We were staying during a marginal time, at the end of June, so the weather could have been dicey. We did have a bit of a storm... More

We visited South Water Caye twice! During our snorkeling trip to Glover's Reef on a Monday and hung out on their small visitors Beach on Friday. My photos are beautiful! My videos look like a dream....only the sounds of the wind and the water. My boyfriend swam to Glover's Reef from the beach and snorkled. He didn't need a boat... More

My wife, 17 year old son and I just returned from a four night stay at Pelican Beach Resort. Leonard, Theresita and their staff went out of their way to create a relaxing, enjoyable experience. We arrived after the one hour boat ride from the mainland somewhat tired after four busy days touring caves, ruins and other mainland Belize attractions.... More

The moment you step foot on the island Lenard tells you he wants you to feel like you are home and boy do you - by the first night everyone new our names, our food likes/dislikes, and the staff became family. The island is gorgeous!!! hammocks everywhere to catch a nap, lots of clear water and you are a few... More

We stayed in one of the "Pelican Pouch" rooms, room#1. It was better than we thought it would be. It was a very comfortable dorm room with a flush toilet and shower, in-suite. We also had 24 hour wi-fi and it turns out this was the only room in the resort with this feature. This was a very relaxing vacation.... More
