Promotes itself as an eco resort so one for nature lovers or divers Accommodation is reasonably simple but well presented Breakfast & dinner buffets which are included in the tariff are reasonable being of 2-3 star hotel standard Diving without sighting Mantas are of 6-7/10 quality You wont be disappointed with nesting birds or green & loggerhead turtles in season

This was mine and my friend's first time snorkeling and we had such a great experience!! We swam with at least 7 turtles and saw even more. We also snorkeled with a wide array of marine life that frequents the island's reefs. The resort itself was also fantastic. The staff was all incredibly friendly and always willing to help. We...

My husband and I just returned from 7 fabulous days/nights. Turtles laying eggs, or just coming up onto the coral cay, exploring and going back into the water, huge animals. One stayed after laying for several hours just close by our Reef Cabin, at the Lagoon. She stayed so long, Jim the visiting Ranger had to encourage her the next...

We were in Australia for a birding adventure. Most that go to Lady Elliot go to do snorkeling. We had done snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef, near Cape Tribulation, but wanted to go to Lady Elliot Island to see the birds. It was a unique experience with some 30,000 White-capped Noddies (Black Noddies) nesting there. They are everywhere, with...

Simply unbelievable. You need to see it to believe it. The accommodation, while basic, complements the intent of the eco resort and is very comfortable. No wifi, tv or radio at first seemed like a challenge, but when there is so much aquatic and bird life at your finger tips, who needs it. Take a book or two, enjoy the...

If you have any interest in snorkelling/diving/the reef, fit Lady Elliot into your itinerary. It was the highlight of our trip. We also snorkelled off of Cairns – worth doing both because the underwater scenery was very different. But stay for more than 1 day. Not just because of the number of activities, but also because it's a waste if the...

Some months ago my family and I took a trip to Lady Elliot Island. We wanted to go to a resort that was owned and run by Australians. What a great surprise we got. The Island is a fabulous place and so are all the staff. However there is one who stands out from all the rest, we were told...

Lady Elliott certainly lived up to my expectations. I had come to dive on the Great Barrier Reef and was very impressed. The diving staff were friendly & helpful, especially getting on to the dive boats at low tide. The marine life is exceptional. I stopped counting how many turtles I had seen on the first dive when I got...
