Just spent a wonderful 7 days in early August on Lady Elliot Island. Walking around this coral cay in just shorts & T shirt wearing blue crocs was bliss compared to wintery Melbourne. This is an eco Resort that 'walks the talk' - via it's operating practises and management and its staff's commitment to reducing the resort's carbon imprint. Solar... More

I arrived to a blowing wind but the pilot of the Twin otter was so used to it that it was a perfect landing. The Reef unit accomodation which i had was simple but very comfortable with a bathroom and coffee/tea facility. The restaurant was great and the meals were fantastic with such variety to choose from and the staff... More

We visited LEI in early August 2016. It was the first time our family had been to the Great Barrier Reef. We chose Lady Elliot because it did not require long boat trips to get there or to the reef. You could snorkel right off the beach. It was everything we hoped for -- and a lot more. It's important... More

My partner surprised me for a get-away for 2 nights to Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort. I am an avid diver and this was one place I have always wanted to visit. Diving was amazing and I recommend any diver to go there for a dive. I will definitely be back for more. I can say that the staff on... More

Spent a week at Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort. Our Reef view unit was right on the lagoon so woke every morning to sunrise on the water - a great start to the day. The food was sumptuous and there was plenty of it with the menu changing every day. We celebrated a wedding while we were there and the... More

What can I say about this place, there are not enough superlatives. Went with wife and our 10 and 7 years old children. Flew from Coolangatta where the ground staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The flight up was awesome as the whales were running and whenever the pilot could, he would bank to allow all us passengers to see... More

Having been blown away by this amazing island 3 year ago on a solo visit with an old school friend (Thanks Steve Carter!) I finally managed a return visit (12 nights) with my wife and teenage son. My vivid memories of what a truly outstanding place this is were only reinforced by our stay. My wife and I are scuba... More

This place is really about budget, simplicity and not overdoing the luxuries, thoughly enjoyed the basic pleasures of sun, beach, nature and quiet. Will definately need to go back for longer than two nights. Note... No mobile reception or wifi, no tvs, no niceties in room. Enjoy the lovely and friendly staff and the beautiful natural surroundings.

Just completed a five day sojourn at LEI. I was hoping to do some snorkelling with manta rays and I wasn't disappointed. It was an amazing experience - such graceful creatures. The snorkelling overall was fantastic. In a 45 minute snorkel in the Lagoon,we saw 10 turtles, two sharks, an octopus and a huge variety of colorful reef fish. Amazingly... More
