We stayed here for one night in May 2014. The campsite is located directly at the Lago Maggiore. The facilities are clean and there is also a shop and a restaurant. There is only one disadvantage: The reception already closes at 21:30 and it's not possible to arrive there later than 21:30.

I love this place. Been going there since I was 5 and going back every year. A lot of families and visitors there know eachother, because a lot of the guests are regulars who come back yearly. Nice camping at the waterside, so you can go for a swim in the lake to cool down if too hot. If you want to lie at the water, there's a sandbeach, a small piece of grass or if you have a chair, you can sit on the part of the waterside that is covered with small rocks. The waterline is also covered with rocks and stones, so better to wear watershoes or flipflops when going in the water. In the water there is a raft so you can relax on the water. A lot of activities are organised weekly: a circus or show, children's activities, beach volley tournament, fireworks (1st of August). All campside spaces are large and provide enough room for a camper/large tent and a car. There are some smaller spaces for small tents which are cheaper. All spaces are in proximity of toilet buildings with showers, restrooms, changing rooms, washing machines, room to do the dishes, ... The showers are hot, everything is cleaned several times a day. If there is a problem, just ask the cleaning lady. There is a small shop on the campside, which is nice and provides most of the things you need to survive, but if you want to do some shopping or buy some groceries, there is a large mall with several shops and a very big COOP at 1km. The restaurant at the camping is really good, serves decent food at reasonable prices. You can also order at the take-away of the restaurant, this is possible at lunch and dinner. A lot of Dutch, German and Swiss people who mostly know eachother, so be used to people flocking together. Some people might have a problem with this, because it makes them feel like an outsider. Don't be afraid to ask anything to anyone, because most of the people are friendly and willing to help if you need something. People of the staff speak Italian or Swiss German, but at the reception they also speak English or Dutch. There is a lot to do in the area: go to the Valle Verzasca or Valle Maggia where you can lie at the river or visit the dam, visit the towns of Locarno, Ascona or one of the many other small villages in the area, go to the market in Italy (Wednesday: Luino, Sunday: Cannobio), do a tour by bike, go canyoning, ... there's a lot to do and you can ask about it at the reception. If you want to go to Locarno, you can follow the walking/biking path next to the lake, or take the boat (for free) that takes you there. Be sure to check the departure hours! Beware of the thunderstorms. Make sure everything is put well in place and attached well, especially if you're standing at the waterside or even the rows behind the waterside. If the wind comes up badly, you might find your tent broken/torn on the ground... The weather is mostly nice, as it's close to Italy. In summer you can expect temperatures between 22 and 32 degrees, but it can be chilly in the evening when the wind comes up. I've been coming here for a long time and will try to keep going back as long as I can. In short: I love this place.
