We have stayed here three times ( a fourth is coming up in a week) and have concluded that this is our favourite hotel - the location, with no road within sight or sound, lawns sweeping down to the lake, the ambience of the beautiful house , the staff and the food . Breakfast on the terrace looking across the... More

The place was amazing. Set in the small town of Gargnano within walking distance to the town, ferries and restaurants. Very quiet location with gorgeous grounds that were very well maintained. The room had a great view of the lake and the staff was quite friendly. My only caution would be going to the restaurant for dinner. It was very... More

We were on a trip around France and Italy (Antibes, Venice and Lake Garda) and stayed here for 3 nights. We have been to Gargnano many times before and remember this hotel being 3 star and it seems it has recently become 4 star. Being there in person it exceeded our expectation of what we thought was going to be... More

Gargnano has avoided the worst excesses of tourism that afflict the lake resorts further south and this hotel, just a stroll away from its centre, offers a pleasant haven for a few days R&R. The setting is perfect, in a beautifully tended garden beside the lake, and offers a variety of room types: in the main building itself, in a... More

We have just arrived home from this beautiful hotel. I would recommend the location and tranquility to anyone. The hotel has a nice pool area, which was very quiet when we were there. Only five minutes from the local harbour which again is quiet and tranquil. Perfect place to have a glass of wine and watch the sun go down.... More

This was a beautiful hotel with great service, gorgeous location, wonderful amenities, and great breakfast included. It is expensive, though, so you need to be willing to pay more. Also, for the price the rooms were rather plain. If you're ready to splurge, though, this is a great hotel.

Utterly stunning, incredibly classy yet somehow casual, amazing staff, cocktails etc. It was an incredible holiday. The town of Gargnano is literally a 5 minute stroll away. It's a stunning little town but with very little shopping if that's your thing. Dining at the hotel (with spritzes on the terrace first) is a lovely experience. Outside, lake lapping and torches... We spent 3 nights here in a lake front room with private terrace close to the swimming pool. Although there was a nice view of the lake it was obscured by the trees and our terrace was in front of a lawned area with sun loungers for other guests to use. The service is excellent and what you would expect... More

This is quite a special place. it's not that grand (none of those outdoor sofas). The rooms were very good (we stayed in one by the pool and one up in the garden).
