This is a very well run facility with knowledgeable staff. The cabins at the top of the hill are especially comfortable and roomy. It's important before making plans to check on the phases of the moon, as a full moon or nearly full moon will obscure the best view of the stars. Go when there's a new moon. The hotel...

Good location if you have a car (main town is 3 km). We had no problem exploring the little towns and checking out the restaurants and local attractions. Due to the full moon we didn't really have a "stargazing" experience and just kept our cabin blinds shut. I would spring for the cabin if you are planning to stay here...

Excellent place to stay in the Elqui Valley. Luis who works here is so friendly and hospitable, he really goes above and beyond for the guests. He was able to recommend great restaurants in town and help with organising other activities. He is always smiling and really happy to help which is awesome. It is located a fair distance from...

We stayed for one night and it was really awesome. Domo was wonderful and cool, it needed all the windows open to fill it with fresh air but it was wonderfully cool to stay there. We slept with the roof hatch open and it was wonderful to wake up and see stars as i was falling asleep. The observatory tour...

We took one of the cabins for one night. We left due to illness which had nothing to do with the hotel. However, I have to say that I was very disappointed. The accommodation is very basic. There is the usual rustic Chilean disposal of toilet paper, which takes some adjusting too. There is no hot water, we could only...

We were not planning on staying another night in the valle de elqui but driving past this place caught our eye and we went in and inquired and ended up booking a room (not the dome because it was winter, but the room w/the window over the bed that reveals the sky!) It was peaceful, great star-gazing site, yummy breakfast,...

We had 2 domos and one cabaña. I preferred the cabaña with it's 'sky light'. We were there during full moon. Fantastic to wake in the night and see the stars. This is a special place but I am sure not it's everyone's cup of tea. We loved the views, the quiet and the serenity. We enjoyed the star gazing...

Stayed two nights in March. Purpose of trip was to see stars. Hotel is quite novel. Rooms are either plastic domes or chalets, providing views of the stars when in bed. We had a dome, which was really a big tent. There was little in the way of storage for clothes. It was a bit like camping. There was a...

Enjoyed the drive through the Elqui valley to reach the Domos. Also took a detour to the Horcon market as we were early. We booked a cabana rather than a Domo and the night view from the balcony and the double bed was really out of this world. We specifically booked to go during the new moon and the stars...

Orignally a good idea, to offer interested individuals a chance to learn more about the sky, the stars and the constellations. Unfortunately, that concept is not visibly embraced by its current management, which seemed to have lost all interest in its guests. We arrived early (around noon) and tired from the trip from Santiago. As the official check-in time is...
