This is a wonderful old property, with gorgeous views over the hills, a huge and beautiful garden and lovely pool - all of which you are given access to. The accommodation is very comfortable and of a high standard. From the minute you arrive Tobias and his wife, Zayne offer a warm welcome into their home and introductions to their two little girls and assorted animal companions. The house has a couple of wings and guests (we were a group of four) are given their own area for eating, with fridge, coffee and tea machine and sitting/eating along with a pretty outside terrace to look at the view. Breakfast is plentiful and beautifully presented. Every effort is made to ensure you get the most of what the area has to offer with help and advice booking local restaurants (all good, some outstanding) or anything else you might need. The countryside around here is gorgeous and the nearby mountains with their wild horses and flocks of vultures spectacular. The little local village is unusually bustling (in our experience of rural France!) and Pau itself a really handsome, historic spa town. We will definitely be back and thoroughly recommend Chambre d'Hotes Secret Pyrenees.…
An incredibly beautiful and quiet setting and very friendly and caring hosts (dogs included). The garden is a paradise. Bed and linen are new and of high quality. Great choice of fresh items for breakfeast. We shall recommend this place to all our friends.
4 great days exploring the Bearn Pyrenees. Plenty of cols on offer to test any level of cyclist, not to mention the rolling terrain around the B&B itself. An absolute bonus that there is also great wine on the doorstep, with a nice cycling route between all the vineyards. Tobias was extremely helpful plotting routes and offering advice. The B&B itself was lovely, with great breakfasts to set you up for the day. The local restaurants were also great, but book taxis in advance if you don't want to drive.
The location. The view. The breakfast. The host. Tobias and Zayne are the most wonderful hosts. They made a plan for us EVERY day full of interesting actitivites, invited us for picking grapes with them and even booked a table for us at a fantastic restaurant nearby. The rooms and the outdoor-kitchen were a little bit too cold for us norwegian girls, but despite this, the stay at Secret Pyrenees was 10 / 10.
Despite our stay being unfortunately a short one we were looked after brilliantly by Tobias, Zayne, the children and the cats. Secret Pyrenees is a great experience with an immaculate garden, pool and a breakfast to die for. If you are hesitating about staying there – don't !
Absolutely perfect stay at Secret Pyrenees ! Charming, peaceful Chambres d’hôtes with immaculate rooms and delicious breakfast. Our stay was further enhanced by hiking recommendations from our UK & So African hosts, Tobias & Zayne . After long hike, the pool was inviting for a quick dip and the garden terraces were spaced privately for a glass of wine! We hope to return for further exploring of the Pyrenees !
Immaculate, comfortable accommodation in a beautiful area with magnificent views. We received a warm welcome, served wonderful fresh breakfasts in the garden and nothing too much trouble for our hosts, who supplied us with plenty of local information. We hope to make a return visit to this delightful Chambres d’Hôtes Linda & Richard
We stayed here for three nights and had an outstanding time. Super room, delightful setting, charming hosts and excellent food (courtesy of local restaurants recommended by Tobias and Zayne). Really well worth a stay if you’re visiting the Béarn area.
We spent 3 days in the Pyrenees staying at Secret Pyrenees in the village of Lasseube. The chambres d’hôte were fabulous and we felt very welcome at Zane and Tobias’ place. The place is beautiful and very well equipped and Zane and Tobias provided plenty of valuable information about what to see in the area. We spent a couple of days exploring the Pyrenees National Park which was a trip highlight. You do need a car to take advantage of what the area has to offer. Highly recommended!
We booked our stay here based on the stunning photos, the location (close to the mountains and within walking distance of a restaurant) and the strength of the previous reviews. We certainly weren't disappointed! The location is tranquil, set in beautiful lush gardens, with views of the mountains in the distance. Being half an hour from the serious peaks, the property is not subject to the full fickle nature of the mountain weather The accommodation is of the highest quality, the renovations of the characterful old buildings have been carried out using quality materials, to a very high standard, and with much thought given to the comfort of guests. The pool has been updated to the same high standard, and it is a stunning experience to swim in this setting Breakfast is a veritable feast, all locally sourced or home produced by the hosts, Tobias and Zayne. If you are unable to tear yourself away from the property for an evening meal, but have had the foresight to source a picnic, then they are more than happy to furnish you with plates etc for you to enjoy it at one of the outside tables (there's places to eat whatever the weather!) The hosts are keen sports enthusiasts, so if you're cycling, running, canoing or whatever as part of your holiday then expect a particularly warm welcome, however we were just bumbling around in the mountains by car and on foot, and we were made to feel completely at hime We can't recommend this venue highly enough. Thanks T & Z, it was great! …
