I stayed at this lovely B&B for the first time in September. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The owners were extremely helpful with excellent knowledge of the surrounding area. I would definitely return should I be in the area again.

Not easy to find in Devon's narrow lanes but worth the effort. Roy and Monica were gracious hosts ; the amenities were first rate; the breakfasts were enough to keep body going for the day. Comfortable bed -what more could we ask for - well the pub next door (with very quiet customers) has a good range of ales and... More

Thank you for writing a review of Staple Cross. We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay here and overcame the initial challenge of the Devon lanes compared to the expanse of Canada! It was lovely to meet you both and we thoroughly enjoyed our discussions over breakfast, putting the world to rights. Thank you, once again. More

A beautiful building, and the room was very comfortable with a very nice ensuite- great shower particularly. Every detail was perfect. Delicious and generous breakfast with lovely home made preserves that you can purchase for a very reasonable price (particularly recommend the grapefruit marmalade) and kind, welcoming and helpful hosts who can't do enough for you. Staple Cross is quite simply idyllic! This is a rural retreat of the highest quality - a home which feels loved and where the hosts, Monica and Roy lovingly extend hospitality welcoming you into their home. We were struck by the beauty of the place, its ambiance, cleanliness and exquisite little touches.

I have been here with my girlfriend and her sister and we really loved our stay. The cottage and the rooms are high standard and lovely, breakfast is generous and delicious. The hosts are extremely kind and welcoming and, furthermore, helped us in all our transfers (otherwise it would have been quite complicated without a car). A place to suggest!

Just stayed one night, attending a wedding near by. Lovely room, host and breakfast especially the sausages. Location good for where we were going, glad we had sat nav on our phone to get there, even though we live in a rural area ourselves!
