We came to this restaurant at the recommendation of our landlady and were not disappointed! Excellent food at reasonable prices, very friendly and competent service and a fantastic view made us come back for another dinner two nights later.

I stayed here for 2nights. If you arrive at the station, look for the taxi sign or go into the Tourist office. Beautiful views from the terrace and the best food. The house white is really reasonable and very acceptable. I thought I wasn't really interested in Italian food until I came here! Charming owner with very good English and... More

Good sized, comfortable room (#42) with AC. Nice views from bedroom and bathroom windows. Great WiFi, good location to explore from Pisa/Lucca to San Gimignano and the Chianti region. Priced very reasonably. The restaurant (Il Gusto e Il Tatto) in the building is incredible. We stayed 4 nights and after eating dinner in the restaurant the first night, never went... More

We stayed here for a lovely week in late August. Ended up having dinner there every night. It was that good. It's run by quite an extraordinary host couple. Charlotte helped us out with advice on local sights (and a tiny emergency), and her husband Matteo runs the kitchen like a boss. Don't miss out on the pepper steak OMG!... More

I picked this hotel as a base for my stay in Tuscany and it was a great choice. Just 15 minutes walk through a typical old town and you are at the trian station ready to discover Siena, Pisa, Firenze and many more. Hotel atmosphere is calm and friendly, Charlotte is doing a great job and is a true soul... More

We were there for 3 nights in early/mid September and really enjoyed the stay, comfort, and hospitality. We arrived in the afternoon and due to a minor miscommunication had a bit of a wait before we could check in, although this gave us time to explore the nearby beautiful countryside. Regardless, we were greeted by Charlotte a little while later... More

I stayed here for 2 nights with my husband and pet dog and had a very pleasant stay. The Danish lady Charlotte who owns it is very kind, helpful, friendly and efficient. The rooms are nothing special as they're very simple and the furniture is rather dated but we had no issues with this. The room was pretty spacious and... More

We stayed here as a surprise whilst visiting my sister. In the Tuscan hills this hidden little gem has ten rooms over 2 floors, a eating area that is inside and outside overlooking vineyards. The place is run by a lovely Danish and Italian couple who go out there way to make you feel welcome. The rooms are large and... More

We stayed here with my parents for just one night (we drove down after work on Monday so that we could have an early start to Pisa and Firenze on Tuesday) and I wish it had been longer! Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel La Pieve, an old farmhouse, has the ideal location: overlooking on one side the beautiful Tuscan countryside and the ancient Pieve [parish church] of Castelfiorentino, and on the other side it's only 500 m from the old town. Our 10 cozy rooms are equipped with every comfort, and in the summer time you can enjoy your meals, a drink or just a snack out on our romantic panorama terrace, which has the most stunning view over the suggestive and enchanting Tuscan landscape. Tuscany is a land of great gastronomic tradition, which you can get to know better, appreciate and enjoy thanks to the varied and tasty treats of our restaurant, which offers a menu full of delicious regional specialties. Do not miss our homemade pasta and our grilled specialties such as the Florentine T-Bone Steak. La Pieve is an ideal base for visiting the area's numerous ancient cities, rich in art treasures, the characteristic medieval villages, churches, castles and off course the lovely Chianti-hills. Furthermore, compared to the places of major tourist attraction, Castelfiorentino is an oasis, where you can discover the real, authentic Tuscany: like at the Saturday market in the central square or wandering around the small characteristic streets of the old town and breath in the Italian atmosphere. You can comfortably leave your car in our private parking, because hotel La Pieve is only 700 meters from the railway station, from where you can easily reach Florence, Siena, Pisa, San Gimigniano etc and discover what the area has to offer in terms of art, culture and crafts. The hotel is family-run directly by us, Charlotte & Matteo. And with our experience, courtesy and availability, we will do our best to help you make your stay here unique, and give you an unforgettable experience of Tuscany. ... more   less
