This hotel made us feel like we were Hollywood celebrities! Tall ceilings, chandeliers, balcony overlooking the Olympic-sized swimming pool, and manicured grounds, with a backdrop of mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. The breakfast was wonderful and dinner at the restaurant was delicious. It was also...More

A really good family run hotel extremely clean on all floors with really nice spacious rooms. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff throughout our stay who even phoned the local restaurant which we had trouble finding, who then sent out a waiter to...More

Yes, a proper four-star hotel in Calabria. Not sure why it's called a Club though. It's a big place that caters for wedding receptions and the like but as an individual traveller in these parts you can't go wrong. The restaurant service in an annex...More

If you're flying into Reggio Calabria airport, Mota is not far. From Roccella, where the Kennedy is, it's quite a drive - about eighty something miles, either across the mountains to the other side and then down on the main freeway back to Reggio or down the coast. Car hire isn't too expensive. As for guides, the Kennedy staff should be able to organize this. If you're flying into Lamezia, that's another story; I'd recommend cutting across to Catanzaro and then down the coast road although it's slower than down the other side on the A3 which isn't as pretty. Lamezia has several car hire companies right on the airport doorstep. As for getting up to Sorrento I'd always recommend the fast train up from Reggio Calabria to Naples. There are plenty of services and the FrecciaBianca is the fastest, at just under four and a half hours, whereas the Regionale can take two hours more. Get first class tickets, they're not much more expensive and the carriages are quieter and there's more legroom. From Naples main station there are plenty of local trains down to nearby Sorrento - Pompei is on the way and it's a must-see visit of course. Have a nice stay.
