Everything about this two night trip was just amazing. It certainly lived up to our expectations. Dinner was outstanding. Attention to detail wonderful. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel so welcome. Staff were exceptional. Can’t wait to go back one day!
I recently spent two nights in Ashford Castle and what an amazing experience it was. Its a beautiful setting and to add to this we were upgraded on arrival to a room with a spectular view overlooking Lough Corrib. The rooms are spectular. The attention to detail was exceptional on every level. The food was top notch, cleanliness and service faultless, entertainment in the bar each night was superb. Excellent band called the Risers played on the Friday night. Super talented group. Everything from the magnificent floral displays to the amazing chandeliers blew me away but the absolute highlight was the wonderful staff. They really know how to look after guests and always have a smile and a friendly word for everyone. Every staff member is so helpful and professional. We were out on the grounds for a walk and got caught in heavy rain. A car was sent to return us to the castle promptly. I was so impressed. It was a truly memorable trip and I would highly recommend Ashford Castle to anyone and will defnitely be back.…
A perfect end to a fabulous Ireland road trip!!! Ashford Castle was the needed rest and relaxation in a fabulous environment that was needed after 2 1/2 weeks of traveling the beautiful countryside of Ireland. We stayed in the original section of the castle, WOW! The room was huge and stunning, huge windows overlooking the lake, so much room to spread out in. The bathroom was massive. To say we felt like royalty is an understatement. Service was top notch, everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. The property is gorgeous, our goal was not to leave and enjoy everything the castle offered for our 3 nights there. We enjoyed dinner at the Dungeon and Cullen's Cottage on property, then did go off property into Cong one night for dinner, which BTW is walkable what more can you ask for? We enjoyed having cocktails every night at the Prince of Wales bar, great environment and so relaxing. One day we did do tea at the Connaught Room, wasn't planned a last minute decision and boy we were sure glad we did it. The setting is perfect and if you decide to do it later in the afternoon be aware you will be stuffed and may not need dinner. Presentation was amazing and everything was delicious! Champagne and tea with scones, finger sandwiches, etc. what more can you ask for. And breakfast every morning was just as great. We did the Hawk walk, words cannot describe. An unforgettable experience, if you do nothing else when here do this. So cool! Unfortunately our kayak and bike trip was cancelled due to weather but it turned out fine we were exhausted and starting to hit a wall from our trip, so we walked into Cong and looked around. Then when we got back to the Castle we decided to play some chess, we got so caught up in the game not sure how long we continued to play. My husband played 9 holes of golf and enjoyed himself, while I got a wonderful spa treatment. The spa is beautiful and the treatment was excellent wish it had gone on forever. No hard sell either on products. The grounds are stunning and we did get lost a couple of times trying to find our room, it is a castle LOL!!! There is also a cinema and billiards room and gorgeous library. We didn't get to see the Irish Wolfhounds, not sure if they were there but sad we missed seeing them. As you can tell we had a wonderful time and would definitely return. Yes expensive but so worth it to end your trip!!!…
This is definitely a 5 star experience! It’s so beautifully maintained inside and out. It’s all about service here from the front desk to the restaurants. The bar is also a wonderful place to have a nightcap, impeccable service. Our 2 night stay passed ver quickly. A small village within walking distance, the 9 hole golf course, numerous walking areas. There is a formal dining room, jacket required, varied menu. The “cottage” restaurant is also a good place. Truly a place we could relax, recharge, ready to continue our adventure.
Everyone needs two nights in a castle and Ashford castle is the place. The accommodations and service are five star. There is plenty to do from their spa, to golf, sailing on the lake, even falconry. See their favorite on premises pets, Cronin and Garvin-two huge Irish wolfhounds. Irish music in the bar at night to bring back another time.
After over 39 days of traveling in England, Scotland and Ireland, it was fitting that we should end our journey in the most fabulous castle of the trip. The setting was like a fairy tale with pastures, forests and a huge lake. Every inch of the castle exceeded our expectations. And the flawless service added the intangibles that made us truly feel like royalty! Their available activities included imaginative experiences that were not offered at any of our other accommodations. We were able to walk in the forest with two incredible Irish Wolfhounds and their "pack leader" (human), and also go on the boat tour of the lough. There was also a gift shop/tea room on property as well as a separate seafood restaurant. Our room was so luxurious and the associates did a wonderful turn down service (and rechecked with us to make sure we were satisfied!) as well as supply us with anything we asked for. Hopefully we will return someday soon! And, compared to where we live in Hawaii, the price was extremely good value. Actually a bit less than a regular room at a very prestigious hotel here but the Ashford room was bigger by far, and the appointments and amenities of Ashford were better. We were thoroughly smitten with Ashford Castle!…
If you are looking for a one of a kind experience look no further than Ashford Castle. The service was exceptional and activities very unique. The beds and linens were super comfy. I went there with a work group and ended up bringing the family. I was worried that there was not going to be enough to do at the property for kids but the week flew by and we had plenty to do. The falcon school can’t be missed! My kids are still talking about their falcons. Wendy - Texas
We have spent two weeks in Ireland and our time at Ashford Castle was definitely a major highlight. The setting and accommodations are magnificent and the hotel and hospitality staff are exceptional!. The tasting menu at dinner was outstanding! We would highly recommend a stay at Ashford Castle!!
For this most recent visit to Ashford Castle, we booked a lakeview junior suite, which proved to be a very pleasant amount of additional space. This was our first trip abroad since Covid and Ashford did not disappoint in any way. It is truly a little bit of heaven on earth. Being a city dweller, the peacefulness of the estate was really welcome, but peacefulness doesn't mean there's nothing to do. There is plenty to do -- boating on the lake, horse and buggy rides, hawk walks, lovely walking trails, and the spa. My husband has disabilities and all were accommodated on the activities we chose and in the room assigned to us. At the age of 76, my only two disappointments were that I ran out of time to zip line and we couldn't stay forever.
Our experience at Ashford Castle was simply wonderful. The staff was warm, welcoming, and very kind, the food at the Dungeon and the Cottage great, and the number of activities offered was amazing. The castle itself is beautiful and elegant without being stuffy. Our room was just lovely with plenty of space and a beautiful view. We enjoyed flying hawks on the Hawk Walk, ambling through the gardens, and walking into Cong. We will definitely visit Ashford Castle next time we are in Ireland. It is simply the best.
