We arrived early at the hotel and were pleased that a room was ready. To our delight we were upgraded to a suite. The room was large and the bed extremely comfortable. We walked down the hill to a nearby guesthouse and had some lunch. We made use of the swimming pool in the afternoon. It was a good job a member of staff showed us how to get to the pool as it was not easy to know how to access it from the rooms at the top of the hotel. There was a cooling breeze around the pool. Drinks were available from the swimming pool bar. Supper in the evening was ok. We got up early for breakfast at 6.30 when it was still dark. Breakfast was disappointing. On offer was some cold pancakes, toast and some fruit Allin all the rooms were better than the food
Perfect location with riverview. Picked up at the pier by a very friendly manager. Great room with balcony. Excellent dinner at US12. Very good breakfast. Amazing garden growing fresh vegetables. Nice pool with bar.
We spent one night here as part of our two day Mekong River excursion with Shompoo Cruises out of Luang Prabang. The hotel is on a steep hill overlooking the river. In the morning the elephants from the sanctuary come down to bathe and drink water. The view is spectacular. The hotel is thoughtfully designed. The rooms and balcony are carefully arranged to make the most of the room and the view. It is ecologically minded with water in jars- no plastic and no unnecessary toiletries. The only small flaw was the rather lackluster breakfast but I attribute that to the early hour and the small numbers due to the corona virus paranoia rampant when we were visiting so they still deserve a five star rating. They will arrange visits to the hill tribes and of course to the elephant sanctuary.…
This lodge was so much better than expected. Situated on a bend in the Mekong it’s perched high on a cliff with amazing views of the river and surrounding area. You can even watch the elephants bathing in the morning. Everything is absolutely eco friendly, no plastic and delicious home grown food. Dinner and the cocktails were lovely and there is a brand new swimming pool which has been newly landscaped. The beds were super comfortable and the staff could not have been more efficient and friendly. Do go and stay at this hotel.
We stayed here for one night, en-route to Louang Prabang. Would highly recommend for the views alone but the rooms were very comfortable and the staff friendly. Each room has a balcony with views across to the hotel-owned elephant sanctuary and up and down the Mekong. We considered the hotel to be excellent value for money.
