Our beautiful, private, seaside resort accommodation is tucked away in a secluded corner of Mac Payong, just 30 meters from the 2km White Beach. Just a short drive away from Moalboal and Panagsama, it offers a quiet, idyllic setting for your holiday. The location couldn't get any better for diving as one of the best reefs in the area is directly in front of your ocean view room. The reef is perfect for beginner divers, and also for snorkelers. However the step walls make an exhilarating dive for seasoned advanced divers. The resort's architecture is a blend of Mediterranean and native styles incorporating local stone and thatched roof with white arches and Spanish tiles. Each room has either a large arched doorway or huge glass sliding doors to provide guests with amazing ocean views. Fall asleep after a hard day's dive to the sound of gentle waves and the wind gently blowing through the yucca trees. Office hours: 8am to 8pm Email to arrange airport pickup with a minimum of 24 hour notice. Check -ins are to be arranged in advance if past or before normal office hours.

We came here for our annual family vacation. Upon booking and even prior to our arrival at the resort, our queries and requests were professionally and promptly handled. The villa where we stayed was very spacious and clean, with working AC and hot shower. Apart from the amenities, what impressed us most is their staff who were all friendly and very accommodating — nothing was too much for them to make our stay more comfortable. The resort also offers a lot of activities which they would happily arrange/organize for you to make the most of your stay in Moalboal. Food choices at the restaurant are varied, reasonably priced and always freshly prepared. Needless to say, we were very satisfied with our stay overall. Special thanks to the staff who personally took care of us during our stay — Rhome, who always checked in with us, Moling, MJ, Iza and the rest of the kitchen staff who made sure we were always well fed, our boat guys Norman & Kuya Orot who made sure we got the most of our boating experience while keeping us safe, and Maple & Pancake who always sat with us during meals...would definitely recommend The Blue Orchid Resort to anyone who wishes to visit Moalboal.

Went there on honeymoon. Even before our arrival everything was handled professionally and promptly. Airport pickup was on spot. We arrived really early and awfully jet lagged, and were very quickly arranged accommodation even before our check in time. This type of treatment persisted throughout our stay: whenever the staff could in any way make our stay better, they did. The place is beautiful and a bit off the beaten track, but comfortably located 15 minutes away from the actual town. We loved the location as you have priority access to the coveted white beach a mere 2 min walk. Food was delicious ,prepared fresh and is reasonably priced. Great shakes, cocktails and beers delivered to the cabana overlooking the beach and romantic tasty dinners were great to regain vitality between adventures around Moalboal. The rooms are spacious, clean and were a beautiful rustic frame to a few epic sunsets. Beds are Huge and comfy, AC was good and hot water in the showers. They offer and handle reservations to any and all activities around Moalboal, including very professional and friendly diving instruction for all levels. This is the place to mention Emily, Matt and Julie, the managers / diving instructors who give this place its soul and that awesome, friendly vibe you only rarely get when traveling. Moling and the other local staff were so nice, helpful and always put a smile on our faces. To put the icing on the cake, Esmeralda, Snowy and Captain give animal lovers their much needed cuddle- Esme even has a beautiful singing voice! A place is much more than the the sum of its parts. Will definitely come back. Mor & Roi.

Blue orchid is a great escape from the busy city and great for families. we stayed here for 5 nights and it was relaxing, with friendly staff. I can definitely recommend the Oslob and sardines trip as well as snorkeling the house reef. The children did the PADI course and loved every minute, we were very happy with their instructor Max who was really helpful and responsible.

We recently had a 5 night stay at this resort. It is a resort in a small, remote town in the Philippines so we did not come with the greatest expectations for fear of disappointment. With this in mind, although there is great room for improvement with the service and facilities, we were satisfied with our stay. Food is rather basic and the staff operate on ‘island time’ so can take a while for meals to come out and you generally had to get up and order yourself as waiters weren’t very attentive. The wait for food didn’t bother us as we were never in a hurry but the food would definitely benefit from some more Filipino dishes with more flavours. Prices were pretty reasonable though. Cocktails ~200 PHP. Pool was a bit uninviting as was cloudy the length of our stay. Needs to be cleaned more regularly. Be mindful that the resort is located off a paved road which is a slow and bumpy ride, particularly in the tricycles. Takes around 20 minutes to get to Panagsama Beach (200 PHP each way) where you can find some great, cheap Filipino restaurants (ask the reception for recommendations) and buy a souvenir to support the locals. A bit more information about the resort and activities upon check in would have been useful. And rather than the compendium only being available at reception, it should be placed in all rooms. There are plenty of activities that they can organise for you - we did swimming with whale sharks in Oslob (4am departure), canyoneering, and a snorkelling boat trip to sardines and a small reef not far from the resort. Also enjoyed a few massages in the cabana which were not too bad. Prices for all activities were quite a bit higher than what you would pay outside the resort but guess that’s rather normal. Our room was basic but clean and comfortable with good air-conditioning so no complaints with it. An extra pillow or two on the bed would be welcome (there was only one each).

Hi scisste19, Thanks so much for taking the time to review your stay here with us at the Blue Orchid! We are very happy to read that you enjoyed your stay and made the most of all that Moalboal has to offer; we are lucky to have so many exciting activities in the area such as canyoning and swimming with whale sharks. We have recently updated our menu to include a wider range of local dishes such as kinilaw and sinigang; we appreciate your understanding on the preparation time, as all of our dishes are made fresh in our kitchen. As you mentioned we are always happy to recommend restaurants and dishes to try in our favourite restaurants in town! Unfortunately our pool did become cloudy for a few days toward the beginning of the month due to a bad batch of chlorine being delivered, combined with the very hot weather. This has been resolved and the pool is now nice and clear again! We're glad that you enjoyed your stay overall! Thank you again so much for your comments - we'll taken them all into consideration so we can provide the best guest experience possible going forwards. We would love to welcome you back to the resort in the future! All the best, The Blue Orchid Team.
