We stayed in this glorious house for the final two days of a three week trip around Cuba. It was gorgeous. Very reasonably priced. Big, QUIET (so unusual for Cuba) rooms with silent air conditioning and a glorious balcony overlooking a courtyard. The breakfasts were huge and the cocktails, amazing. It is perfectly located for the nicest area in this...

We arrived at Varadero airport in the evening, and Joel had organized a car to pick us up, along with 2 large boxes containing our bicycles. The room was very spacious, comfortable, clean, and amazingly quiet, especially considering it was Saturday night! Breakfast was very good, we enjoyed a short walk through the town centre (very nearby) and Joel had...

Very nice hostel, good place close the liberty square(city centre), large rooms and excellent food. The man at the reception was not very talkative, but arrange a taxi pick :-) The staff was very nice and helpful, certainly I recommend. I spent one night with his wife and small daughter. Because you get the keys to the front door, you...

This place is amazing from the HUGE front door to the lovely rooms with shuttered windows and hot showers. The reception you get from the older generation here is appalling - no smiles, no passing the time of day nothing. The young man whom checked us in was lovely though - totally engaging in conversation - we were his first...

This was our only casa home stay experience in Cuba and we were really pleased with the accommodation and food. The casa is situated near the main square behind an imposing blue door (check out the pharmacy museum a couple of door down). We seemed to have a whole floor to ourselves which was lovely. The place was beautifully decorated,...

The reviews for this casa are all good, and so are ours. Joel is very accommodating, the rooms are clean and the food delicious! The extra benefit of a bar with traditional music is lovely. Joel's arrangement for a taxi at the airport was much appreciated. We will be back.

To begin with the positive things, Hostal Azul is extremely centrally located. The rooms are very beautiful and are equipped with two huge beds and excellent mattresses. But well, that's it. In hindsight, our stay in Casa Azul was the worst we had in Cuba. Not even a minute after we arrived, a young guy came into our room and...

This is a great place in the heart of Matanzas. Rooms are spacious and clean and bathrooms more spacious then in the average casa particular. They are situated in a big (blue) house with patio and even have their own bar. At night though, all is very quiet. Owners are extremely friendly and helpful. They also serve great breakfast and...
