15/10-21 på Caretta Paradise Hotel, Zakynthos: Main restaurant: • red/white wine: is it water with a little bit of wine? No taste of wine! • most of the bread is very dry • some of the meat is very dry and hard to cut... • dry and cold scrambled egg and dry and very fat sausages • very dry croissant! • missing cosiness greek atmosphere in the main rest. Maybe you could put flowers on the table...? - It's like a canthine with a very loud acustic! • orange and apple juice are not real juice…! It is lemonade or something like that… Bar: Piña Colada - was not Piña Colada. It was lemonade with ananas taste, liquer and ice. No coco milk and ananas slide...So fake drinks all over...It’s not possible to get lemon in water. Room: clean and nice, but missing soap for handwash..very cold here in october rain and storm! Staff: politefull, nice and welcoming. The orange band one have to wear the all week around the wrist is really not very charming. It's like being in a swim land.. We don't understand how the hotel can have 4 stars...!?!? We're eating food in other restaurants at the Island and pay for it...despite of the 'all inclusive...' The food is inedible on Caretta…

I stayed with my family at this resort during the autum of 2021. We booked it through a travel agent as it was recommended for families. When we arrived, the hotel seemed surprised that a busload of tourists had arrived to check in. Only one person was available at the reception and it took us almost 45 mins to get checked in. When we walked to our room, the hotel seemed deserted. None of the facilities seemed to be in operation and although this is an all-inclusive hotel, most of the restaurants and bars were closed. Granted, it was before a little before noon, but it still surprised us that it seemed as if the hotel was closed down for the season. After entering the room, we were pleasently surprised. The room was really nice, with two beds for the kids in a seperate room from the master bedroom. The room also had a very nice balcony overlooking the pool area, it has a small fridge, a nice bathroom and almost seemed like it was recently renovated. Overall, the hotel is kept clean and despite being an all-inclusive hotel, there were no plastic cups laying around or any other litter. It is very clean. As mentioned, the room is very nice and clean and the hotel staff is extremely helpful and welcoming. I have nothing but positive things to say about the hotel staff. Just want to put out there, that this is not a bad hotel as such but when that is said, little positive can be said about the rest. We were on vacation with friends and we had booked 4 rooms in total. In none of the rooms there were any shampoo in the shower. There is no cleaning of the rooms during the week unless you make arrangements for it (for a fee). The aircondition can only be used by paying a fee (45 euros per week), there is only free wifi at the reception - if you want to use it in the room, it will cost you 15 euros per week per device. Being a 4 star hotel - and not a cheap one at that - I find this sort of additional charges to be problematic. As for the food and bevarages included in the all-inclusive, it is below average. You will only find local brands included. The wine tasts like it is watered down, and the soft drinks all feel like the syrup-to-water ratio greatly favors the water part. Food is plenty, but most of the food is almost tasteless. Not what I have been used to when visiting the islands in Greece. It seems like the hotel puts quantity over quality. We chose to go out to eat a few times just to have some proper food. The waterpark was closed when we arrived "due to weather conditions". It had been raining the day we arrived, and that resulted in the water slides being closed. The water in the pool we could use was freezing. Later, the water park opened, but some of the waterslides were kept closed. Several of the other guests we talked to had experienced the same as us. They complained about the food, the wine and generally had the same impression about the hotel as us. I am not sure if my experience is because we were visiting the hotel in the last part of the season. But given that we had booked this hotel because it was recommended by our travel agent and also because it was a 4 star hotel I must say that I am generally not satisfied. I expect more for the cost of a hotel like this and I will not come back again.

Amazing holiday from the get go, already pricing up for next year! Hotel was modern, absolutely spotless, even outside floors cleaned every day. Cleaners came round everyday and supplied daily fresh towels, bedding etc. The main reason for it being such an amazing resort and wanting to go back are the staff! They are incredible, nothing is too much! Every single staff member is welcoming, happy can have a laugh, polite and amazing with the children. Each and every one are amazing and friendly, make you feel very comfortable, never been anywhere with staff like it, not a bad word to say or couldn't fault a single staff member, the manager Giorgis included! He is always visible making everything/everyone is ok, anything no matter how minor he will sort straight away. We arrived 21:00 they made sure we were fed and watered before checking in then was shown to our rooms by maintenance who also helped to set up the safe. Room was a great location, just a stone's throw away from everything. We had a swim up pool with terrace which again was all cleaned daily, highly recommend a swim up room perfect for families as the individual pools are only shared with 3/4 other rooms. There is also a water park which is amazing if you/ children like that. Also an on site supermarket. Myself and my daughter are very fussy eaters but the food was great, breakfast, dinner and tea, big variety of different food, with fruit always available and the puddings are incredible. There was themed nights which included Mediterranean, BBQ, Italian just to name a few. Also a snack bar which is open throughout the day from 11am with thee best gyros and toasties I've ever had, nuggets, fish fingers and more! The drinks bar in the restaurant is open from 7:30am to get your morning drinks, there is then another bar by the snack bar which is open from 11am, and again then a third bar for the evening which shuts about 23:30 so there is always food and drinks available all day! There is also an a la carte restaurant which isn't included in the all inclusive, the food is devine and freshly made to order, and do the best drinks if you fancy abit of change but isn't needed. Was all very reasonably priced for what you get. Definitely need to try the gyros and crepes! The entertainment is great also, there are activities throughout the day such as cocktail game, aqua Zumba, Greek lessons. Child's disco in the evening followed by adults disco, there is mixed music Greek, English and polish to cater to everyone but you only need to ask and they played any song we requested. Evening discos are also themed, karaoke, 70s-90s, Latino to name a few. There is also an arcade where the main entertainment is. Next to the a la carte restaurant there is also about 7 bouncy castles which have a gate around with a staff member in so the children are safe and you can sit down and have a drink. This is extra but is unlimited so the children can come in and out all evening, bungee trampolines. There is also a bigger arcade in that area too that you put €1 in such as the ride ons, air hockey etc. There is also an on site spa which is highly recommended, fish tanks for your feet out during the day, then also an actual spa where there is a vast variety of treatments, I had a back massage and my daughter had a child's massage it did not disappoint, I have had many massages but was definitely the best. The beach is litterally 2mins over the road which is stunning, quiet, few coves, beautiful clear water and beautiful restaurants. Highly recommended and thoroughly enjoyed from start to end

Loved the rooms we had a swim up room And it was fab the room was clean and modern and great location. The staff were amazing and polite. The water park was great the kids thoroughly enjoyed it and the adults aswell. The pool bar snacks were amazing but we found the nuggets to be slightly dry. The food was okay it was very repetitive. When we first came to this hotel when I first opened food was much better quality. It felt like the food was more Aimed at the other guests at the hotel that weren’t English. The entertainment wasn’t provided in English so made it hard for my children to understand but they joined in anyway. We were the the only English family apart from One other that arrived towards the end of stay I know we went out of school Holidays but just maybe something to consider as my daughter struggles to make friends due to language barrier. Area of the hotel was quiet I’d you come out of hotel and walk straight across the road and down to the beach two lovely places to eat there. Kids loved the fun park bouncy castles were a hit which you paid for and they could use for the entire night which was great. As I said fab hotel great rooms amazing staff just a lack of entertainment and food options for English people. Swim up rooms are a must when booking here the kids loved having a pool They could jump into from the balcony.

Only 1 bar open in the day time so it gets really busy, seem very short staffed but they were amazing even though they were working every day Entertainment for the kids-on our first day it was good when they had instructors to do kids disco, rest of the time it was music that wasn’t in English with no staff running it so wasn’t as good. Nothing really in English. Would be good if they had magicians and proper acts in evenings Key in the room, have to be in the room for air con and fridge to work and to charge phones and tablets Pillows were really hard like having 2 or 3 pillows Water park and a la carte restaurant and fun park not included as advertised in photos, also really costly. But the restaurant was closed most of the time, assuming due to lack of staff. The fun park must have been turned off, we put money in and nothing happened, we couldn’t get the coins back.we then realised the lights on them were off. Wifi is only free in the lobby which is hard for filling out passenger locator forms and all the testing kits online. Food is ok but they leave it under the hot plates too long so a lot goes rock hard. It was similar stuff daily. Shame there was no fresh pancakes or pizzas being made. Breakfast the bacon isn’t very nice. Italian night food was really good In the room we were in you could hear crying babies at night through the walls, not the hotels fault really but could do with sound proofing. Didn’t bother us as we have two small girls Once you’ve had your breakfast there’s no way to get a drink till 11am when the bar opens It was good you have to wear gloves in the restaurant and hand sanitizer was there The snack food was amazing, the chips were fresh hot and perfect, gyros were good too! Loved the location, nice and quiet! Had a lovely time! Staff all friendly. Most beautiful beach near by too! Room good size and cleaned daily!
