This is the second time my partner and I have stayed here. The family who run this hotel are excellent. Kostas always entertains from behind the bar, and Minas is the straight man in this perfect comedy duo. We have stayed in a garden room, previously, but the self-catering rooms are worth the price difference. If you’re not self catering, the continental breakfast is enough to get you through the day. Maids visit daily and towels and sheets are changed when needed. The pool area is kept spotless and there are always plenty of sun beds, although there are a few early risers who great each other as beds are claimed. Drinks are reasonably priced, choices include draught beer, spirits, mixers cocktails and soft drinks. We visit in September and there are a happy bunch of brits at that time, all sharing restaurant, trip and bar recommendations, but practice your “silly salmons” for round the pool japes and laughs, and lilo bathers do get bombed! 😂 All in all this is a perfect base to explore Kos, very friendly with some exceptional beach restaurants near by, and vehicle and cycle rental just outside. There is also a reliable bus service into Kos town which stops just outside, tickets available (cheaper) from Bam bam’s supermarket just over the road. We’re coming back in 2022, all booked already!

We arrived to the hotel around 11pm. The reception isn’t manned 24/7 but the family will acknowledge you and the sons speak perfect English :) We paid the tax 1.50 a day which we didn’t know as was our first time and didn’t mind but something Tui didn’t highlight but it’s not an issue for us . We knew we needed to pay for AC which was 6 euro a day which we did need. We was in room 103 one of the renovated rooms which we was happy with . Clean and modern. We knew there was no tv and probably should of asked for more hangers but this was fine . No safe in room but for us no issue. There was only 1 bin in the bathroom so luckily had our own bags . I’m aware the drainage system in Greece isn’t the same so having showers the bathroom flooded now and then but not too bad as we turned off the water when showering and didn’t consistently run it. The pillows did give me a bad neck even with just one they are very puffy but this really is minor . Mama who sorts the breakfast is the sweetest lady , and loves what she does , the first day we wasn’t overly impressed with breakfast but as time went on we really enjoyed it. Breads , eggs, jams, cereal , cheese , salami , ham , fruit , juice , coffee and tea . We was satisfied. Once I had a 7 euro English which was nice with tea and orange juice , enjoyed! We ate twice in the hotel at night we had the chicken plate which was grilled chicken salad and fries that was fine . Wasn’t a huge fan of the carbonara. Drinks was good value ! Cocktails was big and strong ! The bbq by far was amazing ! Food was great and was lovely to experience Greek dancing and costas the bar man and family really let you into their culture . Such a close family you really felt the love . We hired bikes on 3 separate days ( push bikes) from outside moto David for 4 euro a day. Decent value . Wished we hired a car from hotel as it was 45 euro but somehow booked outside for 50 a day . Lesson learnt . Kos town harbour was a 2 km walk , 30 min I’d say we are both late 20s and walk a good pace . We ran it and it took 15 minutes. Buses was 2 times an hour about 2 euro . Costas on the bar often called us taxis which always was 7euro never more or less . We felt very safe ! We never ate too close to the hotel there wasn’t much choice close by . We cycled ( regrettably) to the “therma springs” which is a 15 min drive but took us 1 hour up hill haha never again but worth the visit but bere in mind it’s a 7 minute walk downhill dirt track to the beach where the hot therma natural water is . As we like the odd party we spent 3 nights on the bar street in kos , it really wasn’t special but the bars locked the doors and allowed dancing . We did the Tui excursion to nissyros which was amazing !!! To the volcano and island. The Tui excursion on the sunset cruise wasn’t really worth it but glad we did it . Just a long way to go to kefalos for a sunset cruise and we was hungover Maybe that didn’t help. When we hired a car we went to kefalos bay agios strfanos to hire a pedalo to the tiny island . The beach has ruins on it making you really feel like your in Greece . We drove to Zia to watch the sunset and also drove to tgnaiki and spent a day in the hamman which was a fab experience, the hamman experience is 33 euro but we got up sold to a package with a massage , definitely barter!! It was worth it . We did also drive to kardamena which had a nice front to walk along , very very British , 40 min was enough. We cycled to lambi which is a good cycle. Definitely stayed busy some mornings spent at the pool never issues getting sun beds but lying there all day isnt for us. The cleaner jeny also lovely we miss you! We miss the whole family , the hotel , island , it was so amazing . Would definitely come back in a few years ! once seen some more of the world . Thankyou to all the family , you do an amazing job Kelly and jazz x

Well a top show hotel. The reception area looks the part and the first floor accommodation looks like it is brilliant. Unfortunately we were at the upper floor which has seen bygone days. Really in need of a upgrade. Mottled mirrors stereo system from the 70's that no longer works. Out of date decor ect. I know you get what you pay for but I do expect the basics like a flushing toilet. Every time we needed to flush the toilet we had to lift the whole of the toilet back up. Really not acceptable what ever you have paid. Very, very tired room. No air-conditioning, unless you paid but to be honest the air-conditioning unit looked so old and gubby we were a bit worried about what came out of it so we didn't bother but it did become uncomfortable at night. It's was very hard to find any staff to help you. The night we arrived we had to go to the bar for a member of staff to sign us in and he didn't seem very happy about it, didn't feel like we had a friendly welcome at all. Not a good start to your holiday The elderly lady doing the basis breakfast (okay for us) did a very good job. Making sure food was topped up at all times. Went to the bar twice. Each time a different price for the same order, put us off going and unless you spend all day, night there the bar staff ain't interested in you. On a few nights we had breezy weather and the doors to the outside steps were locked so you could not get out of that entrance which was a fire escape. Very worrying health and safetyissues there. Not good at all. The great thing was the cleaning staff. Funny, polite and so friendly. They were so very efficient. Our room was kept 100% clean. Really cannot complaine about these ladies best thing about the hotel. Thankyou. I won't be back but if you are on a real strict budget this might be okay for you but you still need a flush toilet and basic staff input / friendliness to all guests not just the ones who spend all day, afternoon and evening at the pool bar.

Having stayed here 3 times and previously loved the place, can't tell you how disappointing it is to be forced to leave this review now. Possibly just touched lucky with nice rooms here previously, not sure, but on arrival this week we were presented with the worst hotel room I have ever seen, in 5 decades of travelling. It stank of a dank, damp, musky smell. Decor from the 70's. Furniture too as most things were broken. So we politely asked if there were any other rooms available. To say the chap that runs the place appeared uninterested and quite put out by our request is an understatement. He then demanded a further €130 from us to "upgrade"! I just wanted a stress free and happy holiday with my partner, so I paid it. Only to then find that despite paying all this extra ransom to upgrade there was still no air con included and this would be yet another extra charge! So we left, never to return. Didn't even stay a night. And got rescued by an amazing Greek friend (thank you Stavros!) who put me straight into his beautiful new Sea&City apartments, with gorgeous new decor, new furniture, and air con fully included!

First the positives: Superior rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Cleaning staff very friendly and did a good job. Swimming pool is large and the bar has a decent range of drinks. Now the negatives: Continental breakfast was very limited. The worst thing was the cats were left to jump on the tables and lick the plates clean. This really put us off having breakfast and we chose to have breakfast out.
