After staying in the Blue Lagoon Ocean Hotel for a week, my husband and I decided to extend our holiday by another 5 days. As the Blue Lagoon was fully booked, we decided to book a room at this hotel after reading great reviews and with it being just a 30 min walk from the Blue Lagoon Rooms  We initially booked a ‘Superior Double’. When we got taken to the room, it was situated in a long corridor. As the hotel was built on a hill, this corridor was in the hillside making it fully enclosed, which in-turn made everything that passed through the corridor echo very loudly. From other residents walking and talking on the way to and from their rooms, wheeling suitcases and SLAMMING DOORS!  The room itself was basic, and very traditional with wooden furniture, a large bathroom, fridge and climate control. We had 2 single beds, which always grates on me when we are married couple, but I have to say they were so comfromtable. What we found strange was that we had to pay to use the safe. Luckily my husband is quite tech savvy and managed to work out how to use it without paying. Another thing which is chargeable was the wi-fi. This is something we have never experienced before in a 4* hotel, but as we had a good package with our mobile providers we didn’t need it.  The view from the balcony overlooked the hotel ground, pool, entertainment area and restaurants.  The first evening was horrendous. Although the entertainment finished at 11pm, the music went on till 1am and then we had to contend with people coming home down the corridor up until 4am. The walls were so thin in the rooms, we heard everything. And I mean EVERYTHING.  Having very little sleep we went to reception to complain the next day, and although they couldn’t move us that night, we were promised a move the following day. Once we were moved. We found ourselves in a suite. Now this room was stunning. On 2 levels, with a seating area, gorgeous balcony, overlooking the same hotel facilities, but on the other side of the hotel, so not so close to the entertainment area. The room was very quiet, although the TV didn’t work, but you don’t go on holiday to watch TV so this really didn’t bother us. The bed was large double and incredibly comfortable much like the original room, but it was nice to have a double bed. I realise the review of the rooms is mixed, however I just wanted to be honest to allow you to make your own decision, I would definitely recommend spending the extra money to book a suite. If we ever return to the hotel, we definitely will.  Hotel  The hotel itself is very pleasant. Large and welcoming reception area. The hotel is part of a large group all situated close to each other. In the group there is a water park, large gym, tennis courts, darts area and table tennis area. As we stayed at the end of the season and due to Covid, the water park and other hotels were closed, but that didn’t stop us enjoying our stay.  There is also an onsite shop which sells almost everything. We looked everywhere for earplugs to block out the noice for our second night in the first original room and the hotel shop was the last place we looked. And boom. There they were!  The hotel has a lot of free sun beds, seating areas to enjoy the pool or drinks in the sun, however I think this maybe due to the time of year.  The hotel is very family friendly, however we didn’t really notice any screaming kids. They all seemed to be very well behaved and under control, which for a couple who only usually book adults only hotels, this was a massive relief!  On our last day we ever heard the hotel manager talk about his reindeer farm on the hotel grounds. We looked at each puzzled as a greek Island is the last place I expected to see reindeers. Having asked reception about it, they confirmed and advised it was literally a 5 min walk.  Off we went and there they were. All 14 of them, lazing around in the sun. They all look very well looked after and even came up to the fence to say hello and let us stroke their heads. You have to go and see them if you stay here!  Restaurants There was only one main restaurant on site, however they did have an indoor and outdoor eating space which was nice on the warm evenings.  As we booked All Inclusive there seemed to be food and snacks all throughout the day. They had the usual themed nights of course, salad bars, hot foods, desserts. There was also a live cooking area in the outside eating space which offered meats, freshly made pizza etc.  The food was very nice, fresh hot and with plenty of options to suit any pallet.  The highlight for us through was the resident cats which stalked the outside dinning are for any scraps that fall onto the floor. They were so well behaved. Not bothering any dinners, just sat watching people eat hoping they would take pity and share the food. Looking at the cats, they certainly weren’t starving and seemed to be very well looked after by the hotel. I must admit, I did find myself getting an extra plate of meat just to feed the cats, and looking around, I definitely wasn’t the only one!  The pool side bar is where you got your drinks from during the day and evening. House spirits were included with standard all inclusive. Half-board prices were reasonable, and there was an Ultra All Inclusive option to upgrade available (I believe €19 per day) and this entitled you to top shelf spirits, but we found the house spirits were generous and more than enough. Entertainment. The entertainment was the usual All Inclusive hotel entertainment, but it was very good!  Different themes every night from Quiz nights, dance competitions, bingo and greek dancing. We only left the hotel for a night out in Kos once as the entertainment was so good. I have to give credit to the entertainment manager who really took pride on ensuring all guests had a great evening. Then we found him the following day running the Water Aerobic sessions in the pool which proved to be very popular!  Staff All the staff were friendly and welcoming and always served with a smile and a friendly hus in on our first day. She clearly takes pride in her work and it was clear she wanted to ensure that all guests, not just us had a great time while staying at the hotel.  Upon arrival, she arranged early check in for us and she was the one who stood and listened to my complaints about theello. One person I would like to mention is Moschoula who was on reception. She was there most of the time and checked first room, with patience and understanding. Moschoula also arranged for free wifi access for us and the room upgrade.  We had several conversations with her during our stay and she couldn’t do enough to ensure we had everything we needed. She went over and above her job and turned a disappointing experience on our first few days into a positive and very enjoyable stay.

Lovely hotel which we booked at short notice for a well earned break. Arrived late due to air traffic control strike and all inclusive had already finished. However still got a free sandwich and fresh orange as a welcome which was much appreciated. Bar was still open to pay at so got a drink there. Beer is served in small glasses and isn’t the best value when having to pay for it. Our room was nice and comfortable. Everything was clean and the beds were comfy. Due to COVID regs only cleaned once but they did a good job. Only a short walk to the pool and restaurant. Food had a nice variety and while not everything was to mine or my wife’s taste we did not go hungry at all. The deserts especially are fantastic. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Beach is just across the road and they have a beach bar. There is a bus stop just across the road which takes 5mins to get into kos town. Cost €1.50 each way. We walked into town a couple of times, it takes roughly an hour and is a nice flat route. If you are in the hotel and fancy a change of scenery there is a really nice little taverna just left from the entrance. The old couple that run it are lovely people. Make sure you take mosquito spray as there are quite a lot about on these islands

It was really relaxing. Our room was pretty big, it had a little refrigerator and comfy beds, in general everything was clean. The food was delicious and diverse, there were like different themes or cuisines each evening. The staff was always friendly, especially Carmen:) The hotel has a good location, you can get to the city by bus and the beach is just a few minutes away. Overall would definitely recommend, we were happy with it.

We spent a lovely week just before the end of the season. The management have taken great measures to keep the place Covid secure. The rooms are huge and even though they are not luxury furnished, the beds are comfy and everything is clean. If the other Kipriotis hotels were open, there will be many more facilities and would be even nicer. The best thing is the food. Admirations to all chefs. Staff are also nice. Definitely recommend the hotel.

My sister and I booked this trip last minute, as we needed a break from the Covid depression in the UK - I am SO glad we did. Everything worked so well. We arrived late (after 12) in the evening, but were greeted with a juice, sandwiches and a beer at the bar if we wanted. Our room was a junior suite and was enormous, with a lovely balcony and one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in. Slight downer was we had no water in our room and there were no water fountains around, but it's easy to get water from the bar. I've never been to an all-inclusive so wasn't sure what to expect. The food was exceptional, so much choice and all delicious. The puddings were out of this world, unfortunately for the waistline. The staff were very efficient, not always the friendliest but I blame this on the masks. We met some fantastic people around the bar, and will never forget the trip. Alex (the entertainer) was so patient and funny, make sure to do the Aqua Zumba and Aerobics every day at 12 - perfect to make some room between breakfast and lunch! Overall a great stay - the surrounding area is pretty tumbledown and not the nicest, but Kos town itself is great and worth visiting. Thank you for having us.

We are on our last day of a lovely week here. The hotel is very clean and safety precautions are in place. There is a nice pool and sun beds on the beach, the beach is pebbles especially when you walk into the sea, so suitable footwear is needed. The staff are friendly, and some decent evening entertainment too, the movie quiz was good fun as was the bingo! The food is excellent, a good selection everyday. Would be good to have water in the rooms, I understand the restrictions around Covid which means there is no tea making facilities in the room, there was a bottle of water in the room when we arrived and once finished it wasn’t replaced. All in all a fabulous week away, thank you 😊

The hotel is spotless, the staff work very hard and we felt safe here. We wouldn't normally go all inclusive, but were surprised at the overall quality of the food, and both put weight on. The room was large, good balcony, the location is good and there is no noise from other sources. The alcohol quality isn't great, but when offering unlimited that's probably a good thing...a few noisy guests around the bar late at night, possibly the hotel should look into keeping the noise down or moving them into the main building after 11 as the noise can echo around the site. In all honesty, this isn't the normal sort of holiday we'd take, we didn't get chatting to the other guests, yes this probably sounds snobbish but one is allowed personal taste ! However I think the staff are to be commended for working so hard and I'd have no reservations in recommending this hotel for others as it was really good value for money.

Spent a week here, and really would have been happy to stay longer. This was the first time to this hotel although we have stayed at the Hippocrates and Holiday Village which are part of the same group. Due to the pandemic we were happy with any break and can say that we felt safe and the hotel had good Covid precautions. Hand sanitizers around the building, gloves for Buffett and witnessed lots of complex cleaning. Although the rooms were only cleaned after the 3rd day they were spotless and if you wanted it done sooner or needed anything reception were happy to help. A lot of hard working staff and nothing was to much trouble. Food was varied and tasty although breakfast could have been hotter, catering staff were excellent and quick to clear your empty plates, Sorin part of the entertainment team was always very welcoming when doing his morning walk around the pool, and the bar staff very attentive. Overall a good break, we are used to a larger complex, which allows you to distance your self from other guests if you choose, however due to the design of this hotel with the bar in the middle, it can get loud after the entertainment stops around 23:00, from other guests who wish to party until the early hours of the morning. The bus into Kos town is very convenient and tickets are 3 euros return, and it only takes 10 minutes. Kos town very lovely and some very good bars/ tavernas around the harbour. Enjoyed our break and see you again next year Kipriotis!

I have just returned from a week away with my husband. The Hotel is part of a larger complex of 4 Hotels and an aqua park. They are all co joined with some shared facilities so you can visit all 3. This is not a 5* Hotel but is a good 4* standard. The rooms and balconies are very spacious, if a little dated and there are English language programme's on the TV. The wifi was excellent both in the room and in the public areas. Due to Covid rooms are only being cleaned every 3 days although you can call reception if you need anything. The shower is a bit hit and miss and the bath was missing its plug !!! There was plenty of hot water and towels and the linen was very clean. The room lacked the 5* touches such as coffee making facilities although they did not mind you getting a coffee from the restaurant to take to your room in the morning if you cannot face the day without one (I am that person). We booked the all inclusive package and I was expected the spirits to be "house" however was horrified to see that my gin appears to come from the same bottle as "vodka" and "white rum". The bottle was labelled "dry white spirit" so we ordered a neat shot and it tastes of nothing. Premium brands were 6 - 8 euros a pop so I took the decision to upgrade to Ultra AI as I did not fancy drinking alcoholic tonic for a week, although many of the choices in the menu were not available (Jamieson's whiskey and southern comfort to name but 2). I also noticed that some of the cocktails came out of a large cardboard box although they make a lovely brandy alexander from scratch. My husband said the beer was fine but Amstel was not available even though it was on the menu. The pool area is very pretty with lots of plants and trees and there were plenty of sun loungers. They are quite strict about hogging them and so there were no 6am visits with towels. The pool is not heated and is very cold. There is a childrens pool but I did not try it. The buffet was serve yourself with hand sanitiser and disposable gloves and worked really well with tables well spaced out. The food was standard buffet fare but was fresh and looked appetitsing. The salads and deserts were very nicely done and very fresh. I did not try the meat as I am veggie but it seemed to be very popular with a chef cooking and roasting fresh meat lunchtimes and evenings. Each evening was themed so there was a lot of variety and also lots of fresh fruit. At breakfast there was a chef cooking eggs and bacon and there was plenty of choice of pastries and preserves. The buffet was really well done and a credit to the Hotel. The Hotel has a stretch of beach across the road with sun loungers and a bar. The beach is nothing special and is very pebbly and unkempt although I saw a couple of people swimming and snorkelling. It can also get quite windy on the beach in the afternoons. Right outside is a bus service to Kos Town which is about a 15 minute ride away. 3 euros each way or 9 euros each way for a taxi. Kos town is fabulous for shopping and eating out and is very picturesque and worth a visit with the beautiful marina and upmarket shops. We could not change money in the Hotel but there are a couple of cash machines nearby and there is a Hotel Shop for souvenirs and nibbles such as sweets, crisps etc. The spa and gym were also open but we did not visit. There is also evening entertainment which is really good fun. Overall we enjoyed out stay at this Hotel and were made to feel welcome by most of the staff with one or two exceptions but it did not spoil our enjoyment. If we were to return to Kos then we would be happy to stay here again.

We came to Kos for sunshine and sea as a last minute week BA holiday package. The island exceeded my expectations and I extended my visit and stayed for 20 days in this hotel. Although the hotel itself in need of improvement I always believe that every business is about people. A special thank you for Moschoula, Kiki and Carmen at the reception. Their patience, humour, good spirit and professionalism to deal with so many different cultures and number of people is incredible. Very helpful restaurant staff, everyone!! Maria, thank you for the beautiful mountain tea recommendation and it was great to be greeted every day with a joke and genuine smile! Food was good and Superior Suite was great. It was a bit noisy by the pool after midnight on some days, but that was due to the tourists. Overall I had a great time in this hotel.
