Nestled near a tranquil beach, Grecotel Luxme Kos garners praise for its impeccable cleanliness and well-kept grounds. The service at this serene retreat is lauded for its exceptional staff who ensure a friendly and attentive stay. While the rooms are noted to be clean and equipped, there is a consensus that they could benefit from modernization. While some guests consider the all-inclusive options a good value, others feel the offerings do not justify the price. The hotel boasts a variety of pools and dining experiences, though securing a sunbed can be a test of patience. Overall, the atmosphere strikes a balance between elegance and vibrancy, providing a pleasurable stay despite certain areas needing an update.

Having used Grecotel on 10 previous occasions, we were just slightly worried as to what might greet us having read some of the very negative views before we arrived. We need not have worried! From the moment we arrived until we departed 2 weeks later, we couldn't have asked for more. In fact, we were left wondering whether the people that had posted the very negative views actually stayed in the same hotel that we were staying in.

Before I go any further, let me make an observation. People who book a hotel with a 5 star rating in Greece are simply not going to get the kind of 5 star service that you get in the UK. If you expect that, you will always be disappointed. So, branded drinks you get in the UK are unlikely to be available, but by and large, that is the norm. So, was I surprised that I couldn't get a decent single malt whisky? No, because I've come not to expect it. Hotels are continually refurbishing on a rotational basis, so the chances are that occasionally, you might not always get a bang-up-to-date room, but hey, how long do you spend in your room anyway! If you want a 5 star hotel in Greece, try the Corfu Imperial or one of the Ikos hotels - but don't complain if you end up paying nearly double what it will cost you at the Kos Imperial.

Were we disappointed. Absolutely not!! What makes this hotel are the beautiful surroundings and the amazing staff. Every year, I promise myself that I will not single out staff by name as I feel that I will undoubtedly miss someone out. However, I've broken my promise again. Every morning at breakfast, we were met by the lovely Maria Liberi who just made us feel so welcome. Rozela tempted us every night with some amazing chocolates, then joined Maria and the others serving evening cocktails in the 1930s bar - the place to be after dinner. But I'm missing so many out, and that doesn't feel right somehow. I cannot honestly remember them all, but without doubt, every single member of staff contributes in some way towards making the holiday memorable - the ladies at reception/front desk, the gardeners who work tirelessly to keep the grounds manicured, the restaurant staff who always serve you with a smile and good conversation, the buffet staff who continually make sure that all the dishes are kept fresh and topped up - these people are the 'unsung heroes' that make this hotel what it is, but then, the Greek people are some of the nicest, friendliest, family oriented, people you could ever wish to meet.

All the restaurants are spot on, the food is excellent, and there are sufficient wines available, including international wines if you prefer.

There is one other thing we must mention. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary whilst we were out in Kos and had notified the hotel before our arrival. Wow! Did they look after us! Beautiful decorations on our bed made from petals from the garden flowers, amazing sculptures with towels made into swans, an anniversary cake and card after dinner on the actual evening - it was perfect. Our special thanks go to our cleaning lady, Miranda, who went out of her way to make us feel so special.

In summary, we had a truly memorable holiday. Would we go back? Without doubt! if you're thinking of going, just remember not to expect perfection. It isn't realistic. What you will get is a team of people who will bend over backwards to make your stay a memorable one.

Thank you, thank you, to the management and staff of this lovely hotel.

We had an amazing stay at the Kos Imperial and cannot recommend this hotel enough, I strongly disagree with a lot of the other negative reviews.

The staff are all so friendly and helpful, particularly Andreea in the buffet restaurant and Rafaela in the lobby bar who really looked after us and made us feel so welcome. The staff at the pool bar were also great, they work non-stop all day but were always quick and efficient. The lady who cleaned our room had exceptional attention to detail, we came back to a spotlessly clean room daily.
We definitely recommend upgrading to the All Inclusive package, virtually everything is included and it is exceptional value, you definitely get your money’s worth. We found the food to be excellent. The breakfast had plenty of options and was delicious, plus nice coffee, and we also really enjoyed the Gyros at the pool bar restaurant at lunchtime. We thought the Asian night in the buffet was also a nice touch. The A La Carte restaurants were a nice change of scenery but the Buffet restaurant was the best of all.
The pool and beach areas are kept immaculately clean and there are plenty of loungers, you only need to reserve them in advance if you are choosy about your spot, but if not you can find them throughout the day with no issue.
Taxis are an issue but this is out of the hotels control, they try their best but due to limited taxis on the island there are often long wait times, we found it upsetting to see other guests being rude to staff about this which is absolutely no fault of the hotel. Instead we used the electric scooters located outside the hotel to get around and found them very useful and cost effective. They also offer plenty of other transport options which we would use if we returned.

Overall, this is another outstanding Grecotel Hotel, offering exceptional value for the price. You could easily pay much more for a lower quality 5 star hotel elsewhere. We would definitely consider returning in the future.

Very little to complain about and I’m very discerning (see other review😂)
99% staff happy helpful and welcoming. Facilities amazing, yoga on the beautiful beach first thing, everything you wish but all unobtrusive. Beach and view the best (remember your sea shoes for pebbles although is better than the sand which is boiling hot - there are two sand areas. Short (10 step) stroll to pool if you don’t want to swim in sea but sea is preferable and views of turkey are gorgeous. Sunbed do need bagging early for chosen spot but there are enough for all. The towels remain on them all day.
WiFi great in 80% areas, my favourite was listening to radio on the beach watching the kids do their water sports (not chargeable to room but not expensive)
Bus (right outside entrance) into old town is well worth a trip. Wander around the cobbles & grab some ice creams & photos.
We were b&b as AI doesn’t work with nightshade intolerance. This leads me to first niggle, the buffet (advertised as Mediterranean) was 90% peppers (a no-no for me) and they still wanted €50/adult despite being unable to eat anything.
Secondly & thankfully I booked the Greek (tavernaki) restaurant from home on the app. Good job I did as all were fully booked by the time I arrived.
The high end a la care restaurant was empty, hot stones has to be tried & is a great experience but maybe only once if you have kids that only want traditional Italian, the Asian for me (again a no no so sorry I can’t comment but only open for two nights.
Romeos tavern by minimart opposite (cheap jwater) is a great alternative for cheap meal.
Second boggle is lack of privacy and comfortable furnishings on terrace. Pools, bars and sun beds all amazing

Dear Angela S, Thank you for staying in our resort, Grecotel Kos Imperial as well as for investing the time to share this online review with us. To begin with, the entire team and staff of Grecotel always make really great efforts in order to meet our guests’ expectations by trying to offer them our warm and sincere hospitality. Thus, we are really happy when we find out that our efforts are appreciated. Having said that, we are glad that the entire hotel grounds and amenities as well as your room and the views were up to your liking. Moreover, we are pleased to know that you enjoyed the food of our restaurants. Last but not least, we are simply honored after your kind words regarding the friendly and courteous attitude of our staff. Receiving such excellent feedback is the best confirmation for our striving. As for the sun loungers, kindly note that, their reservation is not a policy provided in our resort and for that reason, our assigned colleagues try to retain the reserved ones around the pool areas. Moreover, they always accommodate our guests in finding sun loungers by the pool to make their stay as comfortable as possible. Be certain that, your well-intended and constructive feedback help us enhance our efforts in order to continue offering the best of our service. Once more, thank you for choosing us and based on your promise, we wish to see you again in the near future for another pleasant summer experience. Well kept grounds, shampoo conditioner body wash and face soap provided in room along with slippers and a robe, hair dryer, ( no iron ) bath towels and beach towels are provided and you can change your towel daily at the towel hut so no need to bring your own. Nespresso coffee machine provided in room so bring your own as they charge for these,Samsung tv in the room has options for screen mirroring and casting but as an iPhone user it didn’t help me much. Pool doesn’t close or get shut off in like some hotels I’ve been to, always seem to have sunbeds l, I have been once before bed and breakfast only and recently returned all inclusive which I would recommend as it’s very expensive to buy drinks or a cab into town is €12 each way and not very cheap to eat out. Jet ski paddle boarding and other various water sports available at the beach at about €50 for 15 mins for the jet ski. Check out is 11am and if you’d like late check out it is charged at €10 an hour, alternatively they will look after your luggage for the day and your able to use a shower room before you leave with fresh towels. Feeding times can be hectic, I personally preferred the food around the pool in the day the staff were more attentive with getting you drinks and clearing your plates and the salads were delicious and fresh. In the evenings there was entertainment and I found the waiter Ernest to be a nice guy very professional and sweet. Best service is in the lobby bar drinks and staff are great.

We've just returned from a week at the Grecotel LUXME Kos Imperial. It's an excellent hotel considering our budget, and our experience with TUI was brilliant as well. We opted for half board since we had younger children under 12 who eat for free, and they enjoyed free drinks and ice creams all day.

The pools was great (saltwater), and the beach is right next to the pools with water sports available. You can even feed the fish with a bit of bread if you fancy swimming among them. Bring a small rod if you're into fishing (my boys were). The buffet food was nice, and the cocktails were great. It's not the Four Seasons, but you're not paying that kind of money either. The staff were very friendly.

Catch a bus or taxi into Kos (a 15-minute ride) for sweet restaurants, shops, and cobbled streets/piazzas behind the sports bars along the seafront. The only negative was that lunch options were a bit repetitive, but manageable for a week. The head chef was excellent; we have a peanut allergy, and he would diligently explain each night what was safe to eat, always offering to prepare a fresh dish to ensure no contamination.

Overall, it's excellent value for the money and we would definitely recommend it.

Myself and my partner stayed at this hotel in September for 10 days - we enjoyed every second of it. The staff were extremely accommodating and nothing was too much to ask. The food choice was second to none (even on the buffet) - everything was extremely fresh and the food choice differed each day so that it was not repetitive. The hotel was very clean too which is always important! The location of the hotel is around 10 minutes bus/taxi journey from the main town but it is worth a visit to the main town as there are many restaurants and bars, the hotel will not hesitate to book a taxi for you either. All in all our trip was 10/10 - we had 10 days of relaxation which is exactly what we had in mind for our holiday. We also got engaged whilst on this trip so this place will forever be a special place to us! Thank you so much for a perfect stay, we will be back in the future x

Absolutely fabulous hotel, and we’ve stayed in lots, we had an amazing holiday. We were a family of 10 adults and 5 children in five rooms. We had 3 pool view and 2 petit family bungalows, one even had a sea view. We asked to be together and we were. All our requests were met and they were brilliant with our children (2, 3, 7, 9 and 10 years). All the rooms were spotlessly clean, huge comfy beds and pillows, and the rooms were well appointed. Room cleaning is the most discreet I have ever encountered, we never had knocking on the door because it seemed to magically happen when we were at breakfast, no matter when we went! The all inclusive is worth every penny, they have everything, amazing cocktails, wine by the bottle, coffees of every type, milkshakes, branded ice cream etc and the buffet was varied and beautifully cooked (one of our party is a chef and is very discerning). The a la carte restaurants we tried were outstanding, they even fitted all 15 of us into our requested restaurants on two nights and set up a long table in the buffet for us. The staff here are so friendly, especially in the restaurants and bars. We asked for the wine list and it was available on our first two nights, however as it was the end of season they couldn’t offer this after, but offered recommended wines instead and they were all really good. I could go on more, but this is an exceptional hotel, even giving us a free late check out on one of our rooms and extending our all inclusive to 7pm as we had a late flight. The people of Kos were so friendly, everywhere we went.

If I had to make a suggestion for improvement it would be the entertainment, it wasn’t the best. Over the seven nights a singer with musician, a fire and light show and three tenors were good, but other nights just music playing and one night three women dancing to prerecorded music. But as a large group it was fine, we made our own entertainment. Maybe a small jetty ( it’s very hard on feet) to access the sea a little easier, but it didn’t stop us, the sea was lovely, take snorkels.

Thank you Kos Imperial we had the best of times *****

Just got back from a 9-night stay at Kos Imperial, and as a young family with two children (ages 9 and 5) on our first all-inclusive trip, we were thoroughly impressed. The resort is incredibly well-organized, and every staff member goes above and beyond to cater to guests' needs (and it’s clear that many guests coming here demand a lot). The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined on the whole. There was a predominant UK-based guest demographic during our stay.

The food was consistently excellent and on point, offering a wide variety of choices, and the grounds were impeccably maintained. Housekeeping did an outstanding job; our room was cleaned to a very high standard every day. It was clear that no request was too much for the team, as long as you approach staff with respect and in the right way.

Evening entertainment was solid overall, with a variety of shows that kept both kids and adults entertained. We particularly enjoyed the early afternoon poolside DJ set, which added a nice, relaxed vibe. While the resort is clearly kid-focused, it doesn’t have the overbearing features like pirate ships or waterslides. Instead, the kids club, Grecoland, was a standout. The kids' staff were super engaging and fantastic with young children.

Highlights:
- Impeccable cleanliness
- Efficient organization
- Great food and drink selection for all inclusive
- Solid evening entertainment and relaxing afternoon DJ sets
- Engaging and attentive kids' staff at Grecoland

Areas for Improvement:
- Some health and safety concerns around the pool area: there are a few holes, uneven ground, and concrete edges in the Jacuzzi and kids' pool.
- The gym equipment is a bit dated and lacks range for this price point.
- Private bathrooms could use a refresh. For example, the waterfall shower in the bathtub can cause water to spill over the floor, which is unavoidable and inconvenient again at this price point.

Overall, Kos Imperial offers a fantastic experience for families looking for a well-rounded, all-inclusive resort with a focus on service, cleanliness, and thoughtful entertainment. With a few improvements, it has potential to be even better. Ignore the bad reviews, I’d recommend to families but if you’re single or without kids looking for quiet (or on the contrary, you need pirate ships and more slides) you might want to keep scrolling.

The hotel is lovely. The staff are mainly wonderful. We would like to thank Stergios in the restaurant and Rozela in the top bar especially. Both wonderful. The one issue is the sun beds. We’ve had early starts to get a bed but this place is bonkers. People are putting towels down on the way home from dinner and by 6.45 most beds are gone. The hotel need to sweep the beds at 7am and leave the towels in a pile to stop this insane waste of time. One final point and we mentioned it twice to management but nothing changed is the lifeguards. Speaking as someone who almost lost a child in our pool at home we take pool safety very seriously. The lifeguard spends all day with his headphones in watching films on his phone. Keep an eye on your kids as no one else is. Sounds negative but it’s a great spot and we would 100% go back

Had a good holiday here. We stayed in rooms in the 300s. They were cleaned and maintained well. On one of our days we could not get our balcony door open. I used WhatsApp on their app and someone contacted me within 10 mins, came up to have a look and the maintenance people had fixed it within the hour. The bathroom seemed a bit outdated for a 5* hotel but perfectly functional.

Pools are good and although the hotel seemed really busy you could always have a swim. We did aqua areobics every day which was good. Sunbeds here were a real issue. We stayed a week and had sunbeds only for our first day. We did not join in with getting up early to reserve. We have teenagers so we got sunbeds on the beach and they spent an equal amount of time going between the pools and beach which worked really well for us. However, we heard people are getting up at 5:30 -6 to put towels down! Some are not used for hours and people were using them for small children who spend lots of the time in the pools. All were gone by 8. This did not feel very 5* as nothing was done to combat this.

We stayed half board and felt the hotel did not manage having AI and half board amazingly well. The kids ate each day at the pool bar for lunch. 5 times out of 6 the order was messed up e.g too many of something was brought out or not the right order or we had to wait ages for drinks or food to come. When it did there were times it was inconsistent e.g one day we paid 4 euros for a side plate of fries. The next day we ordered a plate of fries but got a mountain size portion on a massive plate!

Food was fine at the buffet in the evenings with plenty to choose from. We liked the Chinese night too.

Nothing outside the hotel really but adults in our group ate at the taverna down the road quite a bit and loved it and we used the bus into Kos Town at 2 euros each. 10-15 minute journey so easy to do but the last buses get packed.
