We visited January 11-18 for my husbands 50th birthday. There were 16 of us. We booked back in May and the hotel has been great to deal with. They were quick to reply to emails regarding my husbands surprise birthday dinner. I had it all arranged before we even got there. (Also thanks to my travel agent) The staff at the hotel were fantastic. Very accommodating and friendly. The grounds were immaculate and green with lots of wildlife. Reception was great. They no longer have coffee makers in the rooms and when we asked about them, they had them delivered to our rooms. I love to have a coffee in my room first thing on my balcony. Our rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff was awesome. My only complaint was the pillows were hard as rocks. I usually bring my own and did not this time. :( The food was great. I cannot eat gluten and upon checkin I was given a letter to show the restaurants. (This was also organized through email ahead with quick replies) The servers were friendly. We did the Steakhouse, fantastic rib roast! The Mexican and the Japanese. All were great! The Japanese was fun watching the chef prepare the food. The beach was beautiful, unfortunately Mother Nature caused a red flag all week. The life guards are very attentive. The pool is also very nice. We prefer the beach and the beach bar and snack bar was very good. There are lots of chairs at the beach. The pool however, people leave there stuff on the chairs right under the signs that say not to and go away for hours. If there are only a couple of you, you should be ok, but to find chairs for 6-16, was difficult. All in all, this resort was great and I would highly recommend it.

We have stayed at Iberostar in Cozumel (3x) and Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal (5x). We like the food, the style, the staff, the facilities. A few years ago while at Tucan, we got a day pass to Paraiso del Mar so we knew what to expect for the property. It's huge. Be prepared to get your steps in. Like Tucan/Quetzal, the property has a twin, Paraiso Beach. The biggest pool I have ever seen runs between them. The pool winds and curves through lush tropical emaculate landscaping. Iberostar Lindo is the next resort over. You can't eat there but no one turned us away from the wave pool. Iguanas and coati (racoon-looking animal) are abundant in the jungle areas. Good food variey and plenty of choices in places to eat. Every night is a different theme. We ate in the specialty seafood restaurant once (make your reservation when you check in). It was very formal, delicious and was nice for celebratory anniversary dinner. Unfortunately, there was a sargassum seaweed (brown and yucky) which inundated the beach while we were there. Not the reort's fault and they worked diligently with rakes and shovels and machine that looked like a Zamboni called a Sand Rake that drove up and down the beach. Seemed a futile effort as the seaweed just kept coming but I wonder how bad it would have been without doing anything. The pool made up for the lack of nice beach this trip. We spent our time sitting by in under different palapas every day, being IN it (moving around to different areas, hanging out in shallow or deep by fountains and bubbles and waterfalls), having drinks at 3 different in-pool bars. If you liked it more quiet, you could camp out at a palapa far away from music or noise. If you wanted activity, there was a place for you also. And everything in between. We'll be back!

We stayed at this resort last week (Jan. 11-18). Upon arrival, we were treated like royalty. Everything from check-in to check-out went smoothly. The food was very good and a variety each evening. You could book 3 specialty restaurants for different nights of the week. I recommend booking all of these upon check-in. Make sure to visit the theatre each night for a different show. The talent is amazing. If you want to drink top shelf, you have to ask for it. One complaint would be there is only one beer to drink. The resort has filtered water everywhere. Each room has two large glass containers to fill at the filtering station just outside of your room. Each room has a balcony with a table and two chairs. We sat on our balcony all the time. There are shuttles to get you where ever you want to go or you can walk. There are peacocks roaming freely and the "coati" animal which is not harmful, but is a wild animal. They are plentiful on the resort looking for food. They ask you not to feed them. The resort next door (which is still part of the complex) has flamingos roaming around freely. There are large turtles in the surrounding pools of water (not the ones for swimming). The resort is beautiful and do make time to just walk around. There is a large shopping area with all kinds of stores. They do try and sell you into their resort club but really not much pressure. It is really a great deal if you are into that kind of thing. It is not a timeshare, but buying into their club with many rewards. There is not a lot of smoking around the resort and none inside the eating areas. The entire resort is an open concept which is really nice. The breeze blows in to the eating areas making it very nice. The pool and beach area are very clean and there are staff always picking up trash and glasses, sweeping the walks, etc. A beach groomer grooms the sand every day. The chairs at the beach area and pool area do get taken quickly, but we quickly learned to get down there around 7:30 each morning to put our towles in our cabana and we never had a problem. We also did go to the pool around 11:00 one day and had no problems getting chairs. Each room has organic amenities including shower gel, shampoo and conditioner inside the shower area. Also an organic bottle of hand soap and lotion are on the sink. Each room is spaciou with a couch and sitting chair. The maid was wonderful and was respectful of our belongings. We did put our passports and money in the safe. One word of caution, if you book an outside tour, I would stay away from the Taco Tour through Cancun Vacations. We did do this and it was $100 per person and totally not worth that. Everyone is friendly and we would definitely stay again. Thank you for an amazing vacation. It was just what we needed.

We had our wedding week at Iberostar Del Mar at the beginning of December 2019. It was simply amazing in every way. It is such a phenomenal resort - a beautiful hotel, an amazing variety of flavorful food and drinks, a great beach and pool, friendly staff with great service, and exceptional entertainment. Our wedding there was beautiful and one of a kind. Our biggest thanks goes out to our wedding coordinator Carmen Liborio. She was great at communicating with us from the start and answering my many questions via email. As well as meeting up with us a few days before the wedding, and being there with us the entire wedding day. She was very kind and caring. We can't thank her enough. Thank you to the whole Iberostar team who was there on our wedding day. Adventure photos also did an amazing job on our photos and video! We highly recommend Iberostar for a destination wedding. - Alexandra & JP

We recently returned to an Iberostar hotel, this one just south of Cancun Airport. The trip from airport to hotel is short! My husband and I were there with two grandkids (ages 1 and 4) and their parents. The food in the buffet restaurants and speciality restaurants was great. The staff was super accommodating to the needs of our family (running to get a high chair, ensuring everything was wiped clean in front of us). The pool areas are terrific and the beach has lovely white sand. There is a small pool especially for babies which our little one loved. We didn’t participate in pool activities at this resort but there was lots of fun stuff going on all the time. We belong to RCI so took advantage of time in the CLUB members’ lounge and seating areas at beach. Samanya (our concierge) and her team as well as the lounge bartenders (e.g., Ernesto) were super nice and helpful. Samanya gave us tons of great ideas when my husband came down with a wicked cold. The bartenders always made sure the kids had refreshments such as fresh berries and baked goods. It was like we were guests in their home. Because we had to make sure the kids got to bed on time, we didn’t take advantage of the nightly entertainment which starts at 9:30 PM. Recommend to families. NOTE: There are ashtrays throughout the resort. I suppose it is a way to get smokers to ‘Butt out’ properly (e.g., not leave the butts on the ground) and to a great level, this indeed works. However, I would prefer ‘smoking areas.’ There were a few smoking areas around but people can actually smoke wherever they want. As a non-smoker not used to this, I didn’t love being near smoke as much as we were.
