We visited Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo from 12/30-1/11/21. This was by far the best family vacation we ever had! We traveled with two kids, ages 9 and 13. The Star Camp staff were absolutely phenomenal!! Our teenager had so much fun playing games in the pool and on the beach and met friends from around the world! Our nine year old had a blast and loved the opportunity to perform on stage! I just can’t say enough about the Star Camp Staff! They were so friendly and would find my kids on the resort and invite them to participate in activities. Somehow they remembered our kids names after one day and made them feel like family. I would highly recommend this resort for anyone traveling with kids!! We can’t wait to go back!
My wife and son spent a week ringing in the New Year in the resort. We had a great time. Every staff member we interacted with was polite, positive and helpful. The room was basic and functional. Cleaned promptly every day. We are not a family that oohs and ahhs about the room. since all we do is sleep there. The resort was clean and still had small evidence of the rough storm season in the fall. The beach was very nice. My wife spent her whole day there as my son and I went scuba diving three days. Having Dressel Divers on site is fantastic. I got up before dawn to watch the wonderful sunrises and got a front row seat on the beach for the family. The life guards were busy that week with several rescues as the surf was very rough. They did a nice job of keep folks safe. Beach entertainment was consistent and positive. My favorite entertainment was watching the Mexican Raccoons looking for food. Not a fan of the mobile salespeople on the beach but they were polite when we said no or waved them off. The food is always a point of debate in some of these posts. We truly enjoyed every day's breakfast buffet and lunch buffet or beach restaurant. The huge seafood paella they made on Thursday was amazing. I watched the whole process and got sunburned. For dinner we ate at the Japanese restaurant, Steakhouse, Under the Sea American Grille and the Italian Restaurant. The other evenings we ate at the buffet including New Year's Eve. The only negative to share about the food was the American Grille. The steak was rubbery and tasteless and the fish/chips tasted like it was from a frozen box. Other than that one bad meal, every time we ate, we were pleased. That's 51 out of 54 meals or a 94% rate of good meals. In conclusion, this was our second time staying at this resort and we had a great end of a tough year and beginning of 2021.…
We just got back from the resort 12-31-2020. I made the reservation 2 days before we left cost$3200 for 2 rooms 5 adults. The rooms are nice kept clean good luck on getting hot water at times or the wii and the resort was at 30% occupancy. Lots of drinks and very good service. Food is on the scale of Cracker Barrel stay with the buffets you wont be disappointed. The golf course was great , well kept great greens . Big hitter will be happy from the tips. If your going for the food this is not the place for you,if your looking for a good bang for the buck its ok look around lots out there
We just returned from our vacation and was very happy that we booked this trip. It was nice to get away from all the negativity in California and have our kids feel some sense of normalcy. Our boys are 17, 14, and 11 and had a blast. They played beach volleyball most of the day and met a lot of new friends. Other times were spent in the ocean or at the pool. Definitely recommend this resort for families. Plenty to do. Rooms: We had adjoining rooms, 1 king size and the other 2 full size beds and had them bring a single bed it for our youngest. The room is a little outdated but to be honest, we don't care much about the room as we are only in there to sleep. The beds were nice to sleep on and the shower head had enough pressure. We stayed in building 54 (2nd floor) and our balcony faced the volley ball and wave pool. Would recommend this building as it was centrally located. Also recommend either staying on the 2nd or 3rd floor for more privacy. Staying on the 1st floor, people walking by can see right into your room if you have the curtains open. Fridge was stocked with Coke, Sprite, Club Soda, and Dos Equis. They provide glass water bottles to be filled up at a filtered water machine located on each floor by the stairs. AC worked fine as well as the safe. The resort grounds are kept very clean by gardeners and cleaning staff. All staff are wearing masks and there are a lot of hand sanitizer stations throughout the resort. Before going into a restaurant or buffet the staff is outside the door to give you hand sanitizer. You have to wear a mask walking into the restaurants/buffet. Every where else in the resort is optional. A lot of the facilities at the Lindo are closed, such as the lobby, sports bar, star café, stores adjacent to the lobby, etc. The mall, casino and disco are also closed. It would have been nice if they could have opened up the sports bar as there were many sports fans at the resort wanting to watch their favorite team. I believe they could have made it safe as they do at the restaurants. Night time entertainment at the theatre was ok, although the staff did their best to entertain the guest. I've been to worst and better. After the nightly entertainment at the theatre, it gets a little lacking in what's available. The Snake Bar is always open, and they always had a musician playing. A few times they had a DJ set-up above the Star Café (near the theatre) and bar, we danced for the first time this year and it was great!!!!! The other nights they did this, the teenagers took over and had a blast listening to music and hanging out with new friends. Recommend the resort to designate a time for the younger crowd, then let the adults take over. Restaurants: We ate at the Japanese, Steakhouse, Italian, Mexican, Buffets, and beach grill. Our favorites were the Japanese and Steakhouse. We loved the stuffed mushrooms, ribeye steak, and pork ribs at the steak house. The Habachi was very good and the chef's provided good entertainment while cooking. Buffets were ok and the beach grill had some really good salads, and French fries. They also changed it up and made paella, tacos, ceviche. Excursions: We took the kids on a snorkeling trip booked through Dressel (located on the beach). You catch the catamaran just down the beach and it took about 3 hours total time. We all had a great time. We also took the kids to the Xplor park. This was the high light of their trip. Spent most of the day there from 9:30-4pm. Walked about 7 miles that day. ATV ride was fun, but really bumpy, the river swim/walk had some spectacular views of the under water cavern stalagmites. The rafting was also fun, but a pain trying to stir with the hand pandles. The highlight of the day was definitely the zip lining. The boys loved it and found it very exhilarating. Also, the food was very good. Definitely recommend this excursion. However, this would not be a good one if you have a bad back, feet, and are afraid of heights. Resort Vendors: The artist Fabian setups outside the Theatre on certain nights. He hand paints magnets and tiles. Great artist and his items are very reasonably priced. Jesus has a hut next to the wave pool that's open every day. He sales unpainted pottery. Highly recommend doing this with the family. It's great to do on a rainy day. You leave your piece over night and Jesus makes some fabulous touch ups then seals/glaze it and you pick it up the next day. I posted some photos of it on the Iberostar Selection Lindo facebook page. Recommendations: Get a massage from the ladies in the blue/white tent next to the Grand (at the end of the beach, adjacent to the Grand), one of the best massages my wife and I have ever had and you can't beat the price. Anna gave the best deep tissue and Elizabeth give an awesome Swedish massage. Resort Staff: All staff members were very friendly and made our trip even more enjoyable. Tip them! they deserve it. We want to give a special thanks to these staff members who made our trip great and is one of the reason why we would come back. The entertainment staff Javi and Carlos were always friendly and remembered our names and would say hi to us every day. Concierge Vladimir helped us with restaurant reservations and gave us good tips. Maris, Sergio and Eduardo from Dressel did a great job with our snorkeling trip. Servers Jordy (steakhouse) and Israel (Italian & Japanese) were awesome! Bartenders: Noe, Orlando & Ivan (Theatre), Jose (Snake Bar). All the ladies on the beach that brought us our drinks. Tips: sign up to the resort page on facebook, this helped us keep up to date on the resort, especially during COVID. Bring plenty of sun screen. Bring insulated cups from home. We brought one for water and one for our drinks, great to have on the beach and by the pool. Bring plenty of $1 bills to tip the staff. Email Evelyn at pmyrp2@iberostar.com the week leading up to your trip to get restaurant reservations the first 2 nights. You have to book the rest when you get there. If you can't get reservations for the restaurant you want, go to the restaurant at the beginning of the hour and see if they can fit you in. We did this and were able to get into the Japanese Habachi. If you are going during COVID time, understand that the resort is only 30-40% at occupancy and not everything is open. Sit back, relax and enjoy yourself, your on vacation!!…
