Iberostar checks off all the boxes. Excellent food Beautiful facilities. Safe environment Clean and modern rooms High quality Tequila!!! We are beach people. If you are: Always plenty of chairs. Bar and food on the beach is practical. Fitness classes on the beach (Yoga, Zumba, workout) were amazing. 2 volleyball courts which are very popular. Some seaweed but they clean each morning. Waves were quite strong when we were there so didn’t go too far in. We only used the pools occasionally but that’s where the entertainment team runs their activities. Looks like a good time but not for us. Also seems to be where the chair reservation problem is. Lots of empty chairs with towels on them. Big water park for kids. The lazy river was nice! This is a family resort so lots of kids. Actually full variety of guests (young, seniors, families etc. ) The gym is modern if you need that. The Plaza is a nice place to go to change things up. You can also visit the sister resorts (Del Mar/Beach) which has more nature and wildlife. Don’t second guess. Go have a great time!

Hotel's Favorite
We had one of the best family vacations ever at the Paraiso Lindo! We spent 6 nights in late December/early January, traveling with three children (8, 6, 2) and two grandparents. This was our first international trip all together and our first time staying at an Iberostar property. Overall, the consensus is a 10/10 and we can't wait to return! The booking experience through the Iberostar website was relatively quick and user friendly. We booked in July and there seemed to be enough availability. We booked a 2-bedroom family which (think of two connecting rooms in a hotel) with a king in one room and two doubles in the other. On the same reservation we booked a Premium Tropical View room with a kind bed for the grandparents. I like that the full price of the room is made clear and notice that there is an extra - at the time $31.12 pesos - fee per room per night not included in that price. But nothing is due at the time of booking, you pay in total at check-in. I strongly recommend joining IHG One Rewards for a discount (it doesn't cost you anything). Leading up to the trip, contacting Iberostar worked fine. They have an email address that you can use for requests, for example when we requested a crib for one of the rooms, or a birthday cake to prepared for our son's birthday. Iberostar doesn't have an in-house transportation service, however, they partner with a company World to Meet (W2M) for airport transfers and some of their excursions. You book the transfer through W2M and pay online in advance. It was reasonable - $198 for roundtrip transport from Cancun airport for 7 people. The service was easy to use. A rep held a sign outside of arrivals and our ride was there in 20 minutes. It's just a 25–30-minute ride to the resort. On your return, you arrange the pick-up time with the W2M rep at the resort 24 hours before and its easy breezy lemon squeezy. Upon arriving the resort, you sort of know it's going to be a nice vacation. The reception area is open, inviting, and the check in building smells great. Check-in can take a bit between payment and activating the room keys - it probably took 30 minutes. But it's really not bad - the kids can run around while you can hydrate with their infused waters. Your wristband has the room key one it which I thought was a good feature. There were a couple of concerns at check in. First, the person helping us said that the room for the grandparents typically has two double beds. I distinctly remember reserving a room with a king bed, especially because so many other resorts only have the "if available" option, and I liked that with Lindo this was on the reservation so we had the assurance. However, we said the grandparents need a king and they actually found a room for them in the same building as the other two rooms, which ended up working out great. Second, I was concerned because they resort couldn't guarantee a crib for our 2 year old - they would "do their best but it's based on availability". This isn't uncommon I know although it can feel a bit uneasy. I was confident they'd find a crib for us. Unfortunately, it wasn't in our room (we did forget to confirm at the check-in desk), but we called in the request, and it was there within the hour.   The rooms themselves were perfectly fine. They were clean and fairly well maintained. We weren't expecting fancy rooms, and you shouldn't here. But they are big and our each had a balcony facing the pool area. I think the room locations were perfect and we'd request the same next visit. There is a mini bar with soda, some beers, and a can of sparkling water. We don't drink soda and wouldn't preferred there were healthier options. But they do refill what you drink every day. For water, they provide a couple of class bottles for you to fill up at the filtered water stations which are all around. The maids came every day and cleaned the rooms, we think they did a great job and are appreciative of their work. The resort itself is really amazing. It's beautiful scenery just walking from reception to the rooms. There is so much to do at the resort. The kids obviously love all the pool options, and the beach is right there. The pool and beach are crowded, obviously, but especially at the pool we were always able to find a couple of chairs. The beach can be harder, but we always found at least one or two. The kids really liked the wave pool, and we did the lazy river, waterslide, and they have a fun area for little kids next to the slides that's like a mini water park. The beach is beautiful. The waves were pretty big when we were there but you can't control that. When you check in (you can do this before you check in but it's a limited view), definitely recommend downloading the Iberostar App. We used it all the time for the Activity Calendar which lists all of the things happening - and there are a lot all the way from early morning to late at night. The other part of the app we found great was the room service we did a lot for the kids. The only negative UX was the laundry service. STAR camp is really neat even though honestly our entire trip our kids spent just a few hours with them. It seems really organized and the staff are terrific. The groups are small and staff take them around doing different activities. Their indoor facilities are also fantastic but actually our kids never even went in we were just so busy do other things. No knock on the camp though, it always seemed like kids were having a great time and what a treat for those parents! So for the food, it was actually above average I would say. We primarily ate the buffet just because it's easiest with the kids and there are so many options and it's laid back. There's something for everyone. We ate the Mexican restaurant once for dinner and the Steak House at the Maya for one dinner. They were fine. Honestly, it's more so for the change of pace, I never think the restaurant food is significantly better. We also grabbed snacks and drinks at the cafes every now and again which was really convenient. And of course, the ice cream and crepe store in the main shopping center was a nightly must-do activity. In terms of other special activities at the resort, we did some SPA things, the photos, the character breakfast. All good/fun! A highlight of the trip for most of us was the off-site dolphin experience. It was our first time doing this it was incredible.   We think it's important to tip staff, so we did so fairly but generously. We found out staff/providers will take pesos of course but actually prefer tips in USD. We typically left $1 USD for drinks at the bar, a $2-3 for room service, cafes, and buffet. Maybe $5 for bigger tasks. And larger tips (~$20-30) for drivers, photographer, maids, spa, etc. We'd especially like to call out Saul, one of the resorts outstanding concierges who assisted us throughout our entire stay. He gave us his direct phone number to text him anytime and he helped us with navigating the resort, all of the activities, finding us deals, etc. We felt he really wanted us to have an enjoyable experience and he provided top notch customer service. We hope he'll be working as Paraiso Lindo for our next visit! Except for the few minor hiccups at check-in, with our laundry service (instructions weren't all that clear and it ended up taking almost 2 days but we know how to navigate this better now), and maybe a few other small but relatively mundane things, the only other notable annoyance was The Club invitation. There's plenty out there on ze interwebs about all the timeshare scams, etc etc. We know we'd be approached so it was expected. The grandparents were invited and went on the tour with the promise for some incentives after - it was supposed to be one hour but they left after 3 hours with nothing. In the end, because of Saul (the man!) we ended up getting the incentive, but no matter the stories you hear it's always just such a bummer with these types of experiences. What bothers me most isn't actually their antics with the approach and pushiness, it's their actually contract signing process! Essentially, what happened is that the grandparents took the tour, reported everything back to me, and then I went to have a scheduled "follow-up tour" to check things out. But when I get there and the rep finds out it's just me and not our entire family, he gets suspicious, most likely because he knows that I'm not there to play games. I was more than willing to do the tour myself, but they weren't interested in giving one to me. It probably didn't help the cause that I called out their process where you can only get a copy of the contract AFTER you sign it, I think my words word "insane" - the rep didn't have a reply. I'm still not even entirely sure what "The Club" is, but I do worry about folks signing contract where they don't know what they're signing. It's just sad and frustrating. By no means did this put a damper on the trip, again mostly because you have to expect it, but experiencing it first hand is always sort of interesting. I'm sure there are aspects that I missed but I hope this review is helpful especially for families with young kids looking for a fun break from reality in the sun!

We have been to many all inclusives in Mexico and the Caribbean and this was a disappointment. Our teenagers were bored. There was not a place in the evenings for teenagers to go to have fun. If they were 18 years old, they could get into the club, but the club was lame. If they were under 18, there was absolutely nowhere for them to go. They simply wandered around the beach and resort. We had a mixed group of cousins some that were 18 and over & some that were not and both groups were bored. One night karaoke started and people were having fun. But after only four songs, the DJ shut it down, packed up his gear and left. Our room looked nothing like the pictures online. It was very dated There were areas that had water damage and electrical outlets didn’t work. We thought the buffet was good, but we were not impressed with the restaurants. If you wanted a chair by the pool, you need to be out there by 7 AM otherwise all the chairs were taken. The bartenders were friendly and efficient so at least we had drinks.

On our family vacation Alexei was very helpful in assisting my family with their day to day needs as well as just making sure we had an amazing entertainment experience on the resort. He has a wonderful customer service personality, and every time he would see us out and about he would check in to see how we were doing. A 5 star employee for a 5 star place!!

So I thought I would write this review while we are still here. Let me start of by saying that this is not a five star property. With that being said, I want to give the biggest shout out to Fatima. She is the only person here that has tried to make our stay enjoyable, she is absolutely amazing and truly understands what families need while traveling. This review is from a single parent traveling with a kid, so splitting up for us (to get food etc) is not an option. My biggest problem was that outside of Fatima, the service is practically nonexistent. The property is huge and you do a lot of walking, bring comfortable shoes. We averaged out between 20,000 - 25,000 steps a day. The golf cart situation is crazy and at some point you give up because unless you are in the lobby, they don’t stop (they are full by the time they get to our stop). There are no pointers for direction and nobody stops to help and point you in the right direction. So we spent the first few days wondering around. The app is not accurate with which restaurants are open or closed. The food is good when it’s good. My biggest problem is that you have to walk to get food, which sometimes is not as easy when traveling alone with a kid. If you want food between 4:30-6 pm, your option is about 15-20 min walk, and with kids you just can’t control when they get hungry. By this point the pizza is closed and the beach cafe stops making fries etc and can only offer chips and queso. They do a pool side special, which is only out for about an hour. The buffet the other night refused to make him a cheese pizza, as they were only making specialty pizza, when I asked if he can get some cereal, response was that it’s only available for breakfast. He literally only had French fries for dinner from the burger place. Both burger place and taco places are really good. We only tried the Italian restaurant, which was good, as reservations are hard to get and at a certain point I just didn’t want to deal with it. The buffet is just okay, the sushi is amazing and that has been my go to meal for dinner. Drinks are blah and you can tell the alcohol that is used is not the best. The rooms are dated where we stayed, building 54, I had to call 3 times to get the AC temp lowered and the room is still musty. You don’t get any other amenities besides shampoo, lotion, shower gel, hand soap and lotion. All feel very diluted, and this is the first resort that I felt like I should have brought my own shampoo to. Our shower gel container broke on day one and has not been fixed. Servicing of the rooms is very bare. They do clean up, but there is nothing fancy going on. I would bring fabreze, as to me the pillows smell. No snacks available, you would have to upgrade. Do not worry about the chairs, staff does an amazing job in making sure you get a chair, just ask a pool concierge and they will take care of it. We booked the swimming with the dolphins through the tour by the pool and it was the highlight of the trip. Totally worth it! Here is my biggest problem: nobody cares. I got a pretty deep cut at the pool by where the kids party is when I was bringing my son to that. I told a staff member, as I was bleeding insanely, and as I left the trail of blood behind me, he gave me 1 bandaid and said that is all he can give me. That was it. There was no care taken in checking the pool, no follow up, nothing. All I was told is that if I need more bandaids they are available for purchase at the pharmacy. We were at Secrets a few months back, and when we had a similar issue, the lifeguard was checking on us 3 times a day and changing the wound dressing, including coming up to the room to do it after we came back from dinner. The response here just floored me. Overall, would I come back here? Not for the money I spent and all the extras they want you to pay for.

We visited as a family of 10 with 4 room reservations, 3 doubles and a king. Upon check in, everyone was assigned a king room and when we showed our confirmation indicating that doubles were booked we were told that the hotel was full and there was nothing that could be done aside from bringing a twin bed roller to the rooms. The staff suggested that my travel agent messed up the reservation despite me showing my confirmation. The staff members were also rude to us when we requested the rooms we booked. They showed me their reservation screen to tell me that my travel agent should have included in the notes that we need two double beds despite the reservation saying "DOUBLE" . The screen they showed me listed personal information of all the guests of the hotel which is a violation of their privacy. My travel agent called the hotel all week and the hotel claimed they offered my family to move to new rooms when they did not. The only comment that was made was to my sister who was asked if she liked her upgrade. She responded by saying she didn't even get the room she booked, neverminded an upgrade. Because we traveled as a group of 10, we called one week prior to arrival to see if we could make dinner reservations because we knew it would be difficult to accommodate the night we arrived. We were told by the hotel that it wouldn't be an issue when we arrived and they do not accept requests in advance. Guess what, it was an issue. I was told by several concierge that no reservations were available all week but miraculously they opened up when i spoke to the hotel manager after wasting an unnecessary amount of time trying with the concierge. The property is very dated and trying to get a chair at the pool will make you feel like you are in the hunger games. If you travel here plan to wake up at 6:30 am to get a seat at the pool and bring personal items to put on top of your towels because people will discard your towels and take your seats. We saw several arguments over this. There's no free nightly entertainment aside from a fire show on the beach which will infest your lungs with diesel fuel. You have to pay for the show at the main theatre or waste your time on a timeshare tour in order to get seats. Positives - The kids loved the water slides and wave pool. The fitness center is the most modern part of the property. The service and experience at the steakhouse was spectacular. I'm sure the hotel management will respond with some generic customer service response but please don't believe it is genuine. We did speak in person on several occasions and they did nothing to help with the rooms aside from secure dinner reservations which was also an argument when it shouldn't have been.

Spent a week in Iberostar Lindo mid March'24. We had a great week. The weather was perfect, the ocean very warm, the pools also nice and warm ( don't listen to ppl's reviews they are cold- if you go there in December or January, maybe they are colder, as it's their "winter time"). Unfortunately, there is seaweed on the shores. During our stay we've had a day with zero seaweed and few days of really bad seaweed. It sucks, but it is everywhere now. Hard to escape. The hotel - we've been at was dated, ( #51), but not the worst I've seen. The bathroom water pressure super low, no musky smells. We had numerous issues with the room, that were addressed almost immediately after reporting. I was very impressed. All staff was very nice and friendly. The food - small buffet with not the best selection. Unfortunately, the reviews I've read about it were all true- some dishes are luke-warm, plain, bland tasting and some look reheated once or twice before...it was not pleasant. That was the Lindo buffet. Since we stayed there, we were able to go to the other buffets and glad I did. Next door buffet ( called the Beech- buffet La Plaza) was better, although quite crowded at times. Cafe- went daily for a frappe and latte, it was lovely. Would not recommend the snack bar- food is dry and gross. The drinks- I have not found a single one that I would like. Very watered down. Not tasty. Pina colada, bahama mamma were just gross. Needs major improvement. The grounds- LOVELY! It was so nice to walk to the beech through a little jungle each day and see the lemurs. After a closer look- they all have some form of injury on their skin, probably from fighting, so I strongly advise not to touch! We saw pelicans, lots of peacocks roaming around, racoons, and parrots ( unfortunately in a cage). What we did not like was the chair claiming by everyone. Expect the pool loungers and beech ones to be gone by 7 am. The beech is lovely, very sandy, lots of shade BUT be careful of rocks in the water! Both my husband and I got ourselves hurt by them. Pools- super fun, beautiful, lots of entertainment, super fun wave pool ( even very young kids can use as the waves are very small and gentle), super fun water park- my girls enjoyed the slides a lot. If you like walking, you will like this place. Super beautiful paths to take around the entire hotel grounds. There is also a nice island with shaded cabanas to enjoy ( don't be shocked to pay 200US per day ). There is a plaza / mall there to visit as well, but let me tell you -you will not be going there more than once after you see the ridiculous prices. Everything is 200$ and up. My daughter wanted to buy a water ball- they told us 80 $ !!! Just shocking and disgusting. Same with braids at the beach. I was told 200$ per child! Insane! Found a local lady who did it for 80$ for both my daughters. I felt like a complete rip off with every turn. If you are going with a family- you will enjoy very much. Tons of little children, be prepared to hear cries and screams. To break our routine we did snorkeling tour with our kids and we all enjoyed the swim. Highly recommend. Bring lots of lotions and you will pay 40$ usd at the hotel if you run out. Regardless of all small annoying things, we had a good time, but because of the foods and drinks...will most likely not return. One major PLUS for the hotel is the water filtration systems and zero plastic ( must have: your own stainless steel mug and straw) ! Bravo!
