Detailed Reviews
I'm giving 4 stars but because of the comfort and price, it's not a fancy place like a Marriott or Hilton. The manager and cook are very nice, the place is very clean and comfortable and just 2 very short blocks from ScubaFun and the other dive centers. On each floor they have free fresh water (bring your own water bottle or else you'll be drinking from those small cups).

We spent a weekend here and the truth is that I have no complaints about the hotel, we had a very warm reception ... we felt like family, the room was very nice and comfortable, a comfortable bathroom and the necessary amenities to avoid shopping. of shampoo or soap. They are only few meters from the beach!!!!!!!
The terrace bar and the pool are undoubtedly the best part of the hotel, in addition to everyone who works there, they do not differ between types of clients ... we were all special. I just think they should improve the quality of breakfast, although it was not bad at all, gluten or vegan allergies should be taken into account and alternatives for this type of guests should be created. Greetings and warm hugs for all the members of the wonderful staff. Highly recommended we will go back again!

Spent 5 nights at Villa iguana. Equipment modern and well maintained. Nice roof terrace, where breakfast is also served. Very friendly staff. Restaurants, bars and the pier of the boats to isla Saona are within walking distance.

Ww just returned from a week in the Dominican Republic, including two nights at Villa Iguana. We had read lots of good reviews, but were ultimately quite disappointed in our stay and felt we should share our experience. It may just have been the room we were in (Starfish), but the room was really dark, dingy, and felt very poorly maintained. As a couple examples, light bulbs were out or simply not sufficient for the room, the sink dripped (which made us sad for the environment), and there was visible mold growing on one of the sitting chairs. It was nice to be walkable to things in town and the fresh fruit with breakfast was lovely, but very late night music and early morning roosters made sleeping a challenge. Overall, not somewhere we would stay again and honestly, it put a dampener on our last few nights in the country.

Nice place, in the center of Bayahíbe, spacious rooms with small refrigerator. Very good cleanliness, basic breakfast but good, served by Alba who is very attentive. Nearby there are many places to eat, also a supermarket. A public beach is a 10-minute walk away. Dominicus public beach is more beautiful but it is convenient to go by taxi (10 uss approx) although you can walk is quite far. A quiet and well located place. I'd definitely come back.

Fabulous location and quiet area! I feel I got the second best sleep of my life here! The included breakfast is a satisfying way to start the day. The deck on the top of the hotel provides fantastic views.
What sets this place apart is the caring staff. I unfortunately took a fall while running in the morning. When I returned, the staff jumped into action, providing me with ways to clean out my cuts. Even the next day, they inquired about my cuts and scrapes!
This property is comfortable and a great value. Stay here!

A very warm welcome from the owner who speaks French. Very clean, well equipped accommodation. Good location because close to all the restaurants, the beach, a path that goes to DOMINICUS beach...A small swimming pool with very clean solarium on the top floor A simple but good lunch. I recommend this place.

Villa iguana staff are very nice people and helpful. The rooms I have stayed in were clean and pleasant. It was a good surprise for a first price in Bayahibe. The roof top is lovely. I recommend! Thanks Cosmin!

Hi,
we have always been going to Bayahibe via Punta Cana, so I don't really know the price from Santo Domingo.
If you book a room at Hotel Villa Iguana, I would reccomend to ask there for the price. Usually they can book a transfer for you with a fixed price, which should be cheaper as if you took a taxi yourself!
Kind regards
Petra
I think it might be. The accomodations are simple, but clean, and you can go by foot to the coast, where there are restaurants and cafes. There is a small and quiet beach close by, that can be reached by foot, too. But if you plan to visit more beaches, good ones farther out like Dominicus (or beyond), you'll need to rent a vehicle. The hotel Reception is pretty good giving advise for touring around.
Hi Lisa,
Yes, Hotel Villa Iguana is in Bayahibe town, maybe about a 5 minute walk to the water and where the boats take off for Saona Island. I thought it was a great location! Close to all the cafes and restaurants without being too noisy. Hope that helps! Bayahibe is so beautiful!!
Tina
Hi Katryna, thank you for your message. Yes we do offer airport transfers. The price is US$ 80 from Punta Cana Airport to our hotel. Warm Regards, Alessandro
