Having looked at the other budget options in Bayahibe village we opted for this hotel which we thought was good value for $61 a night and nicer because it was in a quiet location and had a pool and garden. Our room had A/C was adequately but basically furnished, clean and overlooked a nice garden with a pool that was large for this type of hotel. The bathroom was clean and had a powerful shower. Breakfast, which was paid for separately, was served in the eating area by the pool and there was a reasonable choice of fruit, toast, coffee, eggs on the menu. There was also a limited menu in the evening. We found the staff friendly and there was free parking on site and free wifi in the room. The hotel is about 3 kms out the Bayahibe village where you get the boats to Isla Saona and walking distance to Dominicus beach. We had a car and therefore the distances were not an issue and for our three night stay we thought this hotel offered very good value.

OK 'ish property, we messed up choosing this one , because its long walk to the beach.Fairly clean straight forward place. Has one restaurant , that serves only snacks for lunch. Expensive mediocre breakfast and same for dinner. Down town at the T junction , there are better places.

Hotel is clean and good price for 2. US$60. The only issue we had was with the water heater...didn't work and they were not able to fix it on Sunday. But they changed the room and we got hot water...(save hot water...water heater is very small).
Breakfast is italian style...(Bayahibe is in fact a little Italy in DR...) so don't expect big breakfast/eggs.

After reading the other reviews, I feel like I stayed in a totally different hotel! The outside is very nice but the rooms don't match in terms of quality. The room is furnished very sparsely; the walls are off-white; the bed covering is off-white, so everything was very sterile looking while outside the building is painted a nice pinkish color and the landscaping is very pretty. There's not even an attempt at putting a picture on the wall. The bathroom has little ants crawling around on the counter. They require a 1,500 peso deposit to use the safe. You can't pay by credit card at the bar/restaurant area. I actually cut my stay one day short because I was so unhappy there.
On the positive side, all staff are exceptionally nice and helpful. The pool area is very nice. And there is even a drying rack for wet bathing suits and towels outside each room.
The hotel is owned by an Italian so there are quite a few Italian guests which means the TV in the bar/restaurant area is turned onto Italian language channels (and too loud for my taste).

Stayed at the hotel for one night, before heading to the Viva Wyndham resort down the street the day after. The hotels are not in the same class, so I will attempt to refrain from comparing them.

Overall, I'd describe Eden as just okay. The front desk staff spoke enough English that check-in/out were easy, but the kitchen/bar staff spoke only Spanish. Whatever, that's part of traveling in another country, but the listing did say multi-lingual staff, so it was unexpected. The kitchen/bar staff did seem a bit annoyed by our broken Spanish.

I don't know if it was just a dead time of year for them or what, but we only saw one other set of guests the entire time we were there, including dinner and breakfast at the on-site restaurant.

Speaking of the restaurant, dinner was great. We both got chicken fajitas, and they were fantastic, but it did take a while to actually receive the food once we ordered. Breakfast was included with our stay and, while simple, was good enough. Coffee or tea, a bottle of water, fruit, croissant, and toast with ham.

The room was nice, but not the cleanest, particularly the toilet. A/C worked great. There was a safe in the room, but it's not free. Bed was comfortable and we both slept well. WiFi worked in our room, and it was a decent connection. I do wonder how good it would've been if there'd been more guests at the hotel, but all I can say for sure is that it worked well for us.

We only dipped our feet in the pool, but the water felt great, and the pool was clean.

As the crow flies, the beach is only about a five minute walk, but you'll have to convince the security guard at the resort staff to let you through. Good luck with that. The public beach requires a 10-15 minute walk, which was fine for us.

I stayed at this hotel for one night. I did not read reviews or know anything about this hotel prior to my stay. A family member booked three rooms in order to be close to the Isla Saona exit port/beach the following morning. I was very disappointed even if only for one night. The hotel is not of good quality, i would rate it 2 stars tops. The rooms are run down and the tv is older than I am. My room had no fridge and another of the rooms had no shower head, just the hose. The beds are uncomfortable and the lighting is poor, it just bad all around.
The garden is nice but it is not enough to justify a stay here with all the other issues. It is not on the beach and it does have a pool but the water was murky!! I couldn't see the bottom of the pool so I refused to get in. I spent the night just looking forward to the next morning when I could leave.
The one good thing I experienced I will say was the restaurant, the wait staff at the restaurant were friendly enough and the food was actually delicious. We had lunch which wasn't great but the dinner was absolutely divine.

Now something else I should mention, my cousin ordered a few beers and snacks while we were by the pool for lunch and paid for these before we left. Later on at night we returned for dinner and when asked for the bill we noticed we were being charged for the items which we ordered and had already paid for during lunch.
After further inspection of the bill, we noticed everything was inflated, we ordered 5 beers, they listed 7. We ordered 2 bottled waters, they charged us for sparkling which were more expensive. There were a few items that we did not get and the whole bill was wrong. If we had just paid and not checked the bill it would have been excessively more than what we should have been paying.

Again, this was a hotel I had no choice in and thank God it was only for one night but I wouldn't bother going there had I known, seen pictures or read some reviews.
if you are on a budget and don't mind the substandard conditions then it's ok but I would not return.

This is a small hotel in the little town of Dominicus, far from the beach. A place where you can stay when you have spent a day at the beach and are not staying in an all-inclusive hotel around the area. Rooms are clean and spacious, has Cable TV and AC plus a safe box. It has also a pool. Breakfast is included but it is simply terrible, coffee machine not working well, juice not good and bread was old and dry. Better to bring your own crackers or go somewhere else for breakfast. Dominicus town is just 2 blocks from hotel.

We stayed at the Hotel El Eden in Dominicus/Bayahibe, for the sole purpose of taking a couple of tours. It was unexpectedly pleasant. The grounds were beautifully landscaped, and there was a very nice pool. The rooms were spotless, even though very simply furnished. They had ceilings fans, AC, hot water, cable, large bathrooms, and in-room safes. We paid $60 total per night, per room. Our rooms, 312 and 313, each had a large king sized bed. The staff was friendly, and we felt completely welcome and safe. Dominicus is a lovely little town.
I would absolutely stay here again!

I stayed here one night. My flight was cancelled and American sent us all to Hotel Eden. I was pleasantly surprised. I cannot comment about the service too much as 200 people were thrown on them at once. They were organized and handled the situation well. I cannot imagine in a normal situation this resort would have bad service. The grounds are very well kept, modern decor, comfortable chairs at the beach and pool, very cool looking pool, and powder sand beach. The buffet had a great selection and was very good. The room was very modern and clean. The bathroom was large with a great tub and awesome shower. I had stayed 3 nights at Dreams and this was 10 times nicer. It actually made me want to return to Punta Cana, where Dreams does not.
