Hotel rooms were clean and simple. I enjoyed the layout of the resort. I always felt like I had my own space. There were plenty of options for eating and the coffee was delicious. The people who worked there were so sweet and kind and helpful.
This is our 2nd stay at Hilton La Romana, the first was a family stay last Christmas on family side. While they were still touching up some things during that stay it was an enjoyable one. This time everything on both sides had been completed and the President of the DR actually was at the hotel while we were there for the inauguration of its transformation from Dreams. There are many things to love about this resort! Flor the premium club manager is a good place to start. She personally greeted us and made sure we were taken care of from the very first moment. Unfortunately I hadn’t gotten into the habit of taking names of people that made impressions on me until the 2nd leg of this trip at the Hyatt Zilara(amazing property owned by same company). 2 people I want to recognize though are: Edwin at the family pool bar. We met him on our previous trip with our children when we spent most of our time on that side. I made a special point to go over and say hi and he immediately recognized me. With Edwin you see love in his eyes and you can tell he loves what he does and cares about the people he serves. What a special man. Angel our butler was amazing!!! This guy is a hustler and always on the move. He’s there to make your stay better and he succeeded. He went out of his way to get non-alcoholic beer for me as the resort didn’t have it. He even used his own $$, this was way above and beyond. He is a ROCK STAR!! He made sure we had everything we needed at our preferred spot by the pool with an ice bucket with non alcoholic Becks, water and club soda every day. I have nothing but good things to say about Hilton La Romana on either side. We also met some of the most amazing people that God placed in front of us at that moment in time that we have already made future travel plans with. Always be open to striking up a conversation with a stranger you never know where it will lead! Don’t hesitate and book the Hilton La Romana you won’t regret it!…
My sister and I went here in February 2020 and it was our 1st time in the Dominican and at an all-inclusive. Upon stepping into the lobby, we were amazed how beautiful it was! From then on, the trip got even better with the service and the best beach for lounging and snorkeling. We loved it so much and hyped it to our family that we brought them over Thanksgiving week. We were hoping that our family would like it as much as we did but in fact their enjoyment surpassed our expectations. It was an interesting change in different to see how the hotel was during a busy time and during the slow pandemic time. We all felt very, very safe and secure from covid with all of the cleaning protocol and how the staff was protected. Most of the restaurants had outdoor dining as well to ease us. We kept mentioning how this was safer than being back home. This particular trip, the service was even more exceptional (perhaps to less guests). From checking in, Maria (I believe her name) was very helpful with getting us the rooms we wanted and even more helpful later in the week with helping plan my sister's birthday dinner. Everyday we sat on the beach with Alexander being our server and we loved him! He was prompt, polite and even spent the time to chat with us. Ansley at the Blu Bar was fantastic as well. She would see us coming and get our drinks prepared as we walked up. Then there is Pablo Picasso...that guy is a legend! We used the spa services and got massages. They also provide a salon. They offer $29 women's haircuts and I thought I would give it a try since I hadn't had a haircut in over a year.. Sandra was my stylist and even though she cut a bit more than I initially wanted (over 9 inches), it turned out way better than I could have imagined! I have a new hair stylist, but now I have to go to the Dominican to get my haircut and I am ok with that! Everyday we hung out on the beach, snorkeling to the pier and back to see all the different marine life, kayaked or paddle boarded. The water here is some of the best I have experienced. After our week stay, we got home and immediately booked another week for March 2021. We haven't stopped talking about this trip and we can't wait to see our new friends Alexander, Ansley and Pablo again!…
We just returned from a wonderful family getaway at this wonderful resort. We stayed at the adult side and enjoyed every minute of it. The resort is spotless and we felt very safe at all times. The staff all wears masks at all times and our luggage was sanitized on arrival. The resort is operating at low occupancy and we never were close to anyone else. Our butler Angel went above and beyond to ensure we had the most perfect stay. This was a well needed family getaway after the last year and highly recommend going there!
I have stayed in resorts before in the US and this one by far is the best resort I have ever visited. The beach is so close and the facility is well maintained and beautiful. All the staff members were so friendly and accommodating. Even the manager, Betty, completely exceeded our expectations. I felt comfortable and happy as I enjoyed my entire stay. I wish my vacation was longer and I hope to return someday. The excursions that the hotel arranged for us were also so fun and adventurous. Definitely a vacation to remember as one of the best.
