Nestled in a picturesque location, Hilton La Romana is lauded for its pristine cleanliness and stunning beachfront, making it ideal for relaxation and special occasions. While opinions on the value of premium upgrades are mixed, guests consistently praise the resort's comprehensive amenities, including diverse pools and dining experiences. The service at this adult-only resort receives accolades, particularly for staff like Luiding who exceed expectations. Although the rooms are celebrated for their comfort and cleanliness, some guests have noted issues with noise and maintenance. The vibrant atmosphere is a hit, yet a few yearn for quieter music options.

Hotel's Favorite
I'd like to start this review by noting we are a 31/32 year old newly married couple, who chose Hilton la Romana Adults only as our Honeymoon destination, and we were not disappointed. In fact, this was the best holiday we have ever had. 1. Hotel - The Hotel is split brilliantly into the Adults only and Family Sections, and you can really tell the difference between the two. Adults only offers a high class feel, with premium drinks, bars, restaurants and staff. Family side, however is also excellent, as is the water park - tip - well worth a visit. 2. Staff - Unrivalled. All the staff greet you with an 'hola' and hand on heart. All staff cannot do enough for you. They are proud to work here clearly and the hotel also helps them - as we found out Hilton support local churches and families to learn English/Spanish and also do courses in hospitality. 3. Food - Wow. The best part of the stay. A La Carte Dining is superb. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner in some of the best restaurants. Sakura Tepinyaki is unreal - and Noor offers an incredible Fillet Minon. We also ventures into the daily pizza oven bar - brilliant - and the beach food is also perfect. Well done Hilton. 4. Excursions - We booked a day trip to Catalina Island and went Snorkelling with Fernando and his team. Wow, what a day! Saw Turtles, Lobster, Octopus, Angel Fish and many many more exotic animals. The staff on the trip were amazing. 5. Room - We stayed in a top floor, sea view room and was excellent. The Air-Conditioning is powerful and views amazing. No issues with noise, despite looking over the adults pool. The curtains are also heavy and provide darkness in the mornings. Comments on other posts - the music in the adults pool can be deemed 'loud' but this is not the case. The pool adds a DJ/Drummer every 3 days only, and between 3pm-5pm only. This is highlighted in the daily schedules on the TV in your room and paper copies handed out by staff. Honestly, if you write a review and complain about this, its petty. The DJ is actually excellent and we looked forward to it! Premium - we paid for Premium and a Butler service. Honest review, the butler, Antonio was amazing. He bought us a cooler of beers, soft drinks, water and anything else we wanted to our lounger or beach. He also surprised us with coconuts, cocktails and gifts to take home, such as rare rum. However, we did not make much use of the Premium Pool or Beach. The areas are excellent, but we befriended a few English folk who did not have Premium so stayed with them in the Adults Zone, zero complaints, we thought it was excellent. Final Advice for Guests - it is a 'tipping' culture. A lot of the USA guests know this, but for UK folk may find this strange. I would suggest dishing out a few dollar bills early in your trip to bar staff and waiters. They will remember your name and make sure you are always left with a full glass. We cannot wait to visit again Hilton La Romana - Thank you for a perfect Honeymoon.

Loved playing beach volleyball each day! The staff was friends and fun. Really enjoyed talking with Julieta and Maria. 10/10 bartender Edwin on the family pool. He was personable and made great drinks for me and my friends each day we were at the pool.

This is one of the nicest all inclusive resorts we've stayed at. My husband and I scuba dive and we traveled here with my sister and her family. We stayed on the family side but since we don't have kids were able to dine and swim on the adult only side. We have both traveled and gone diving all over the Caribbean so this is just my ten cents. Definitely one of the nicest resorts and customer service is 10 stars! We did not have the butter service but my sister did and it was worth it! Victor was so wonderful and even brought us drinks and checked on us even though we didn't technically have the service but we're with my sister. His team of Garo and Kelsin were so helpful with luggage. Yesica serving drinks on the beach looked for us every day and helped me with my Spanish. She had a smile on her face every time we saw her! The food was really good here. I would take bad reviews with a grain of salt. If you want a true taste of a countries' food then go out and find local restaurants. But most everything we had was delicious. My husband and I got massages at Drift Away spa and it was so worth it! The staff were so friendly and professional. We did do the Enclave level (previously Premium) and honestly I'm not sure it's worth it. We ended up at the main pools and beaches on both sides most of the time. We didn't use room service because the buffet was so easy and we had to be at the dive shop by 8:30. As for the diving it was pretty good. Not the best I've seen (compared to Cozumel and Belize) BUT Scuba Caribe and the staff were great! Email them before your trip with any questions (they respond right away!)and book online and save money. Great prices for 2 tank dives. Dive masters Dani and Pablo were great! One thing I really like is even though the boat was packed with divers most days each dive master only had about 3-5 per group. Our last day it was just my husband and I with Pablo. He got some great videos on his Go Pro and downloaded and Air dropped before we left for the day. Captain Pepe was also great and so helpful. Please tip your crew! Lastly, please take money for tips. Even just a dollar per bar trip means a lot to the bartenders. Tip your maid service (Nurys if I'm spelling it right) was amazing. Clean room and towels twice a day even if you don't ask for it. We even tipped our waiters here and there. They are working so hard to make our vacation fun and relaxing.

Just returned from a stay on the adults only side of the resort. We went with our adult children. First, the positives. The property is superbly landscaped and incredibly clean and neat. The service and staff are top notch. Most notably our butler, Febles was awesome. He met and exceeded every need. He greeted us daily with an ice chest of drinks, fruit plates and resort schedules. He handled all our reservations and responded instantly to any requests or issues. Truly, exceptional and professional!!! Thank you, Febles!! Our room was quiet and the king size bed was perfect. We did have an ongoing problem with our air conditioner that was never fully fixed. Now the negatives: Let’s talk about the music. I had heard and expected some limited music around the pools but instead of at least a minimum of quiet to enjoy the birds and ocean waves, the music lasted all day and was repetitive. It seemed like the hotel management believes guests want/need a constant barrage of music everywhere on the resort from the pools to the restaurants (even at breakfast) to the lobby. The resort is beautiful and serene and some quiet to relax, nap, chat and read would have been much preferred. Another issue was the late night DJ at the Rocks beach bar. The thump thump could be heard in our room far from the venue until 2 am!!! It was closer to the family side of the resort where many children stayed so I’m sure the parents could not have been pleased. Now the food….average. There is a tremendous amount at the buffet and it is expertly displayed and maintained but I felt quality over quantity would have made an improvement. The deli meat spread alone was enormous and I cannot imagine how much food was wasted each day. The service at the restaurants was great. The hostesses and waitresses were friendly and attentive. They do need to get a better brand of coffee for the breakfast guests and offer cream if desired rather than just milk. Yeah, I know…. Petty but we do like our coffee to start the day and I know their local grown is great, so use it. Sakura, the Asian restaurant was the best we had. Lastly, the dreaded fight for pool chairs. Supposedly, you can’t “save” chairs until 8 am but zero enforcement so you had to get up by 6 am to stake out your chairs. Bring those towel clips for your chairs. Hopefully, this is helpful!!!

Couldn't rate the hotel highly enough, one of the cleanest resorts we have been to and the staff are a credit to the hotel. Jose Luis Rosario bringing drinks to our longer with a smile on his face all day. Coffee bar very good with a big selection of cakes too.Noor great for breakfast, enjoyed the breakfast burrito, and the Blue burger at Mare for lunch was amazing. We were in the enclave section and the pool was nice and relatively quiet, also the exclusive longe was nice for a break from the heat and to get a nice drink and snacks. Overall would highly recommend

The Hilton is Amazing there is no other way to describe it. Food is out of this world. The adult only option has 6 places to eat that only have adults including an adult only buffet. Clean and service is second to none. Lots of nice activities for adults only also. We did go over to the family side for dinner and to use the water slides which are fun even for adults. The have a beautiful spa and offer a yoga class every morning outside the spa it is totally amazing.

I did a lot of research and saw great reviews on this resort so we decided to give it a try. I have been to several different resorts and have been in the DR five times. I’ll have to say this was my least favorite stay. The grounds and location are great. Clean and beautiful. Lots of mosquitoes so bring repellant!! Not enough chairs at the infinity pool so you have to wake up at 6am or earlier to put items on chairs if not you won’t have anywhere to sit or put your belongings. Our room was clean and nice. For 3 days we had a loud constant noise waking us up each morning. Construction was going on above our room. I went to talk to the front desk about it and they changed our room. In our new room the AC was barely working and the room was sooo muggy. The food was not good. It felt like we were eating the same thing everyday. The best restaurant on the resort was Sakura. Due to the lack of food quality and options we had to eat there 3 times on our 6 day vacation. The coffee shop only offers basic drinks. Either a frappe or expresso drinks with only chocolate or vanilla flavor you can add. The expresso tastes cheap and not of good quality. They always have the same food to offer at the pools and beach. Pizza & burgers. After staying a week here it’s gets so boring eating the same food day after day. Entertainment lacked at this resort. It felt very boring and the shows they had to offer were very kiddish and outdated. The dancers lips didn’t even match the lyrics and it just seemed so fake. There was no entertainment for adults only side other than a musician playing in the lobby on some nights. There was no entertainment at the adults only pools either. They had music playing above the bar from a speaker but was pretty low you could barely hear it at the other side of the infinity pool. Customer service was hit or miss. Some staff were very kind as long as you kept the tip coming and others were rude. At the end of our trip the service manager came and asked us how everything was and I expressed my complaints. He laughed it off and joked if I came back he would give me a present and change the chef for me. Clearly they don’t care if he just brushed it off with a joke and walked away. Honestly, this resort is perfect for elderly couples wanting a very quiet and relaxing vacation. I most definitely won’t be back. It was not worth the amount of money we spent. Do your research thoroughly before choosing this resort.

This was the best vacation experience ever! Yailin is a friendly professional front desk young woman who was a joy and checked us in and out quickly. Argentina Reyes was the wonderful cleaner who added extra beautiful touches to the room. Mildred and Olga our blue team bar servers were amazing! We loved Yuliana, Maria, Rossy, Rene, and Pablo Picasso in the arts/entertainment! Yessenia and Antonia were the best massage therapists. And Victor our butler went above and beyond including going out to buy shoes for my hubby when his broke! An amazing team at an amazing resort! Food was great. Place was so clean. I highly recommend and will be back!!!
