Walter was our concierge and was fantastic. He is from the U.S., speaks perfect English and is there for you whenever you need him and for whatever you need. AM resorts need more employees like Walter.
For preferred guests, the amenities at the family resort across the street are top notch (accessible via a tunnel). The pool is generally deserted, the pool bar/staff are great and the Flying Fish has great food. From a wide variety of options on the buffet that were really tasty, the grilled to order chicken/salmon, and the really delicious made to order wood fire pizza! The best of all was the fun and attentive staff! They obviously love their jobs and enjoy their guests. We give 5 stars to: Roberlin Catalina Ruth Andreina Mery And last but definitely least, our pizza master chef Ramon
We went as a family of 4 which included 2 teenage girls. Overall we had a wonderful experience. We chose Dreams Dominicus for its smaller size (less than 400 rooms) and laid back vibe. We like boutique hotels but settled on this since we had teenagers with us. Dreams Dominicus delivered on a slightly higher end experience, good service and enough of a scene to keep the teens interested. Review below is based on Preferred pkg in a 2 bedroom family suite. Top Assets: (1) the people who work here are attentive (2) the cleanest property we have been to and this was our fifth time in the DR. The cleaning staff and grounds crew should be given raises, from the rooms to the grounds to the beach...it was spotless and a pleasure to be a guest here (3) decor choices - up to date yet approachable (4) the beach itself, while small has THE cleanest water, soft sand with no seaweed Speaking of top Assets: we rented the beach beds 3x during the week which I highly recommend. Nelson helped us in every way. Employees like Nelson is the reason why we go back to the DR often. Hard working, humble, happy and gracious in all the right ways, he made our trip memorable and reminds us of what true customer service means. Food: 8/10 and we didn't ever have to wait longer than 5 minutes to enter the restaurants. Yes there were repeated things but for the DR, the food was comparable to other hotels in this price range. Favorite was the Preferred Club beach restaurant - great all around fish and grill items. Misses: Umbrellas, umbrellas, umbrellas and lounge chairs around the pools. Shade is very hard to find around the pool, especially if you have younger kids who need shade. The Preferred pool only had 3 umbrellas, people literally fried in the sun and couldn't enjoy the facilities as there was no shade. A small investment in umbrellas would help make it more comfortable. Also, the main World buffet is the only area you can get A/C during the day. Perhaps reconsider how strict you are with the dress code during lunch as all of us are coming in from the beach for a quick bite. My daughter wasn't allowed in because she only had an oversized t-shirt on and they wanted her to put on shorts. I spoke to the manager but he pretty much ignored me (this was an unfortunate incident on our last day of an otherwise perfect trip). I would recommend this resort if you have family, avoiding crowds, and are looking for a beautiful property with an amazing beach. …
Second time in the resort Second time in a preferred section Second time my butler Mercedes what I could say?? She is the best.. helping me from minute I arrived thru my whole vacation. With all i need from helping with room location to booking bali bed at the beach💕💕💕💕.Room is spacious with comfortable bed, huge bath and cleaned x 2 daily. Plenty of bottled water everywhere, premium drinks at preferred section including apperol🙏.no reservations needed for specialty restaurants, food is so do, beach is great white sand clear water, you have to get up early to get a shade bed with a view, other than that great vacation, will come back again.
This resort was absolutely wonderful, it is great for families especially with young kids(less than 5), the staff are so sweet and welcoming. They are always very happy and cheerful. Roberto at the preferred club was very friendly and helpful especially with ordering food for our toddler. The day and night shows were very entertaining. We enjoyed our stay and would go there again!
When we first arrived at the hotel we learned that we were at the portion across the street from the ocean side of the resort. I was not even aware that the hotel was split like that. They told me that the part of the hotel across the street was newer and the units were very nice. I wanted to move to the ocean side because that was my preference. They were able to upgrade us for an additional charge to what was suppose to be an ocean view room but it had no view of the ocean. That was the worse part of my stay. The room that we got was clean, very nice and, very roomy. It was much closer to the beach, restaurants and pools. I thought the amount charged for the upgrade was too much but was not going to haggle. The hotel grounds were beautiful. Everything was well manicured, clean and it was nicely laid out. If we had stayed at the unit across the street there was a shuttle that would transport guests via an tunnel under the roadway so that really was not an issue. The pools were amazing. They are positioned in the center with buildings on each side which seemed to create a wind tunnel that cooled you in the heat of the day. The pools never seemed super crowded and we were able to find chairs although sometimes we had to move a chair from one place to another to have to seating together. The beach was awesome! So many Caribbean or Mexican destinations have such a problem with seaweed. That was not the case here. The water was clear and not too rough. The staff at was awesome as well. There were a few that did not speak English, or at least very little English, but for the most part communication was not a problem. Everyone was very helpful polite. The room service was a little lacking. We ordered something one night that never came, then ordered again the next day and finally got part of what we asked for. We spoke to one of the preferred staff people and it was not a problem again. They will offer a vacation club presentation. You do not have to do it. We did attend the presentation and I didn't feel pressured at all. Walter was very personable and responsive to our feedback during the presentation. Again, you don't have to attend. I have been to others and they were nightmares but this one was not bad. My husband and I have already talked about going back to Dreams Dominicus La Romana next year and I would recommend it friends or family. …
Excellent service, the staff was extremely kind and efficient, specially the concierge Melba, she maked me feel like home, I'm truly come back soon and I can't wait have this amazing experience again.
Beautiful resort and very family friendly. We enjoyed their lovely beach, many pools, and nightly shows. There were many food options to choose from. The cons: drinks weren't strong and they try to sell you on sitting in on a time share type of presentation if you chose preferred member status room. Otherwise, my family really enjoyed our time there. Rafael was a great helpful staff member and Johanna made the best coffee in the morning.
Luis at the front desk was friendly and professional. This was our first all inclusive in DR. The staff were very friendly and respectful. The beach is gorgeous. Snorkeling , kayaking and paddle boarding were all included. The buffet served a wide variety of food, grill steak, lamb, fish.. etc. We liked the different cafes and bars it had. Didn't do any excursions and still enjoyed ourselves in the resort.
Katerin- reception area. was amazingly helpful and made the language barrier much easier! She always had a smile too! Thank you for everything while we stayed here in for our Anniversary in March! We definitely will be coming back and we hope to see some familiar faces again! Next time will be with our 10 children!
