The estate has been recently restored and turned into a wonderful hotel.In our search for quality and comfort, we have made an effort to respect the estate’s own style, taking lovingly care of every single detail.Sa Galera is the name of one of the seven fiefdoms into which the Kingdom of Majorca was divided by King Jaume I when he conquered the island to the Moors. D. Nuño Sanz ran the estate which housed the most important cavalry corps in the island.Its fertile fields were full of vineyards, almond trees and carob trees. Today the estate has over 5000 almond trees and houses one of the most important Pure Majorcan horse breeding centres. The Bonet-Company family have been the estate owners since 1850 and have personally participated in the restoration of the manor . They have been deeply concerned in keeping the original framework and have finally come up with a very nice and comfortable hotel with twenty rooms, each and every one of them with a character of its own. The estate is very well located in an amazing privileged environment where you will enjoy a unique and relaxing quietness, away from crowded tourist areas. Nevertheless its location will allow you to easily reach many interesting spots such as the nearest village Ca’s Concos , the towns of Santanyí and Felanitx , as well as the modern marinas of Cala D’Or and Porto Petro. And since it is located in the southwest coast of the island there are many wonderful beaches at close range, specially the beautiful beaches of Cala Mondragó and S’Amarador, which are Specially Protected Natural Areas.

If you’re looking for a sense of the real Mallorca, away from the package holidays, this is the place for you. The locally hired staff are fluent in German, English, Spanish and some French. They treat guests like family and provide fabulous suggestions for excursions (e.g. boat rides to nearby coves and beaches) from reception. Spa therapies are also available and reasonably priced. Breakfast is served every morning buffet style with an ample selection of fruit, cheeses, wonderful fresh bread and a good coffee machine. The pool is fresh, saline based not heavily chlorinated and located under olive trees in the garden. This hotel suits: hikers, possibly cyclists (though breakfast begins at 8:30 AM which may be late for some wishing to avoid the hottest part of the morning in summer); families with older children (it was great for our 8 and 10 year olds but would say babies and toddlers might fare better with more facilities catering to that age group); as well as singletons and couples looking for tranquility. There is a small snack menu available throughout the day and a Mallorcan restaurant experience opens over the weekend in the evenings Friday to Sunday - would suggest booking in advance as numbers are limited. The paella is delicious, clearly cooked with great care and must be ordered at least a day in advance. Otherwise there are some lovely restaurants near by in Cas Concos. We came back home revived and relaxed after our wonderful stay at Hotel Sa Galera!

Very nice hotel in a very quiet environment. We stayed there with our family of 5 (kids aged 3, 5 and 7). It was no problem at all that we were staying with young children, they even brought extra donuts for the kids during breakfast! we stayed in the little house on the site, wat was perfect with the kids. The swimming pool is lovely due to the slightly salty water without a lot of chemicals. The owners are very friendly and they will help you with any request. I woud certainly recommend this hotel!

A very cute and authentic Mallorcan hotel From the moment I arrived to the hotel, I really loved the house, it’s a beautiful example of Majorcan original architecture. Also inside it’s very nicely decorated and with touches of authentic Majorcan furniture. The result is verya authentic, original hotel where you will feel immediately relaxed, and ready to enjoy the island. The team, it’s very small, but they are always very nice and willing to make you stay very personal. The hotel is away from the crowded beaches of Majorca during summer but still, one can go easily to the calas for half a day and enjoy the beach. The breakfast is very correct with products from Mallorca included in buffet. To improve, the internet coverage but if one really wants to disconnect, maybe is an advantage!!

We booked a junior suite via SecretEscapes for us (couple + toddler (1.5 Years old)). Before checking in the staff at the reception didn’t even bother to introduce themselves but asked very rudely about the „child“. Toddler was not on booking (no option on website) and they wanted to charge us EUR 80.00 (!) extra per night. We offered to stay in the same room with our own cot but was not accepted because of antiques (?) in the room and we had to go to another room on the first floor instead of the booked room with garden access. Not all windows had shutters and room was very light (toddler slept not well) and no coffee machine in room (available at extra charge at the bar) which is a surprising at EUR 260 a night per room. We left the hotel because we didn’t agree to pay extra charge and negativity of hotel manager who was only worried about profits of hotel made it a terrible experience; he was clearly not happy about the rate they had offered secretescapes and wanted to recoup the difference at the guests expense. Outdoor space, room and location is nice, breakfast was ok but overall this place is highly overpriced and should be marked as adults-only.

Dear Sir, we are very sorry that your stay was not entirely pleasant with us. Let us respond to your comments. As you say, you reserve a Junior Suite through an internet page. On this page ( as you affirm there is no option ), as in all other internet pages you only have the possibility to reserve a room with a maximum capacity of 2 people, family rooms can only booked directly with the Hotel. The surprise for us was that upon arrival there was a third person, who was a child. This for us is not a problem, because childrens are very welcome in our hotel, simply because instead of a junior suite you had to occupy a Family room, and this had an additional price of € 80 per night, for which we agreed to make small discount and leave it at € 60 per night. On our part, it is not about to recoup the difference at the customer's expense, it is simply another type of room in which a price difference had to be paid. We recommend that for future reservations you carefully read the restrictions offered on the internet pages, and compare them with the information on the hotels website. We also like to inform you that our Premium rooms with private terrace and private access to the garden can only be booked directly with the hotel, these room category are not offered on the internet portal that you reserved. Regarding the coffee machine in the room, we take note of your suggestion and we will do our best to continue improving. At the Hotel Sa Galera our expectations were exceeded, warm and courteous staff, also German speaking, a very quiet hotel in a good location, rooms for every taste, super well maintained complex with beautiful pool area, professional massages and sauna. We had a rental car for our stay (large parking available inside the hotel complex). The rich and delicious breakfast we have taken every day in the outdoor area, snacks and drinks are available until 14:30. Dinner (from Thursday to Sunday) was very good. Nearby we found several great beaches and shopping. Our conclusion: AN INSIDE TIP for those who seek peace and relaxation and appreciate the cosiness of an old mansion. We would definitely come back.

Hotel Sa Galera is a wonderful country hotel, originally a 13 century manor house retaining much of its original character enhanced by a heightened sense of the style and taste of the furnishings.
The management and staff are caring, warm, personable and attentive. Maria made us feel immediately welcome and made recommendations for restaurants and beaches as well as other useful information. The hotel kitchen was excellent providing large breakfasts and good menus for lunch and dinner. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean and the swimming pool was a joy.
The ambiance of nature with its utter peace and only bird song was a restful contrast to every day life and added to the magic of Sa Galera.

A very special place was central to a very special holiday... Not your average hotel : rural, totally relaxing - great for slowing down & recharging. You'd need to hire a car (which we collected at the airport) and the drive is about 25 minutes but easy enough. Using this wonderful hotel as a 'base' we simply took a leisurely drive to nearby towns / ports / markets in the morning & chilled by the pool in the afternoon (there are plenty of sunbeds, so no 'fighting' or having to reserve them! There's a small, super-friendly bar - great for a light lunch or coffee. Breakfast is simple but absolutely fine (help yourself) and dinner is available from Thursday-Sunday at similar prices to eating out in town, so we did this most evenings : again, totally chilled & every meal was great. The room was great with our own sitting area / sunbeds outside (these rooms are only available if you book direct, which the hotel encourages and they will beat booking.com prices) - Maria will handle everything and she was great : don't hesitate to get in touch and she'll answer quickly. All the staff were lovely. The place feels like it was once a farm (there are horses in the field who like to say hello!) All in all, a great find & we'd happily return!!!

Hotel Rural Sa Galéra is a beautiful place to relax and unwind. Set in lovely grounds with a fabulous pool and spa, the hotel feels warm and welcoming. We loved the traditional yet modern interior with many interesting objects and pieces of furniture. Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and Maria in particular gave us some great advice about local places to visit that we would never have found on our own. There are many beautiful beaches nearby as well as local weekly markets. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and we enjoyed it sitting outside enjoying the morning sunshine.
