The only reason i leave this hotel a one-star is simply because of the management and hopefully something change for the better! We stayed there last year and we loved it ,but this year, sadly, they just became like everyone else - hungry for money. All the prices are even higher compared to last year ( have in mind you are in a very small, village-like town ). Have in mind that in this price you only get an average breakfast and that's pretty much it. Their "private beach" is a money laundering machine , they kindly ask you to pay 30 leva for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella ?!? Like ,are you serious people ? The majority of their staff is excellent, especially the waiters around the pool. However the other part talk to you only in Russian like you are on of them, although you are residing in BULGARIA. The prices in their restaurant - oh boy, oh boy ... For example if you are to eat in a luxurious restaurant in Sofia ,Bulgaria, it would cost you half as much, you do the math... Last but not least , they guarantee no free parking and if the street run out of spots you'd be basically forced to pay 10-20 leva per night to park in a facility owned by the hotel, yes, as a guest ! This has been the cherry of the cake and most probably if not certainly my last time on the Black Sea coast. For the amount of money i spent there i could've gone for 2 weeks in Turkey, Greece and other much greater places. I am really disappointed and by leaving the lowest grade possible i really hope this will open the owners eyes and make them fix some things or the future of this hotel will definitely, definitely not be bright !…
Having never been to Bulgaria, this was bit of a leap of faith! The hotel is not luxurious but it is super clean, friendly, good value for money and in a nice spot by the beach. We stayed in the double/twin room option (ie not an apartment). Although no sea view, it was comfortable, extremely spacious, with a balcony, fridge and kettle (bring your own tea/coffee). The pool is very nice although relatively small and I'm sure it would get busy in high season. It is also unsupervised and the only downside of our stay was that some children were left to their own devices, with little consideration for other guests. We visited at the end of May which is low season, and restaurants and bars around about were mostly closed. I gather things pick up from June. However you can easily travel into old Pomorie , Nessebar or Sunny beach by bus or taxi (check the price before you get in!!) where there is more choice. We mostly ate in the hotel restaurant, which had plenty of choice. Breakfasts were a highlight, being a la carte rather than a buffet, which was a nice change. We appreciated a warm and sunny short break, and would return to explore more of the area. At the time of writing, the going rate for a taxi transfer to and from the airport was 30 Liev.…
My wife saw favorable reviews of this restaurant on trip advisor so we gave it a try. The service by Petyr was great and the food was excellent. I had the T Bone which is not usually available in Bulgaria. My wife had the Salmon. Both were very good.
This review mainly consists of positives. The atmosphere, location and food was delicious. We ordered the seafood pasta and seafood risotto, both were delicious. Although it was not a busy lunch day there was a lack of staff available so had to wait twice to be served/seen too. Desert was lovely and the price is great for what you get! Highly recommend!
We have travelled by our own and hotel managed our trasportation from the airport to the hotel which is just 15 mins drive - perfect when U travel with 3 kids. Hotel itself is very nice and good location - right on the beach southest part of bay, so there are no cars and it is pretty quiet place. Check in and check out without any problem, our 2 bedroom apartement had 2 bathrooms - really appreciated it. Room are cleaned up every day, breakfast of good quality, one still have acceptable kinds to choose from. Swimming pool is not very big and kid were using it just when waves were too big so it was not allowed to enter the sea - one day of our holiday. Otherwise sea was nice and warm, beach pretty crowdy but not that much as in Sunny beach. Directly by the hotel is one shop with everything You need and 100 meters away small supermarket. When U take a walk closer to the city center you can find local market with fresh fruits and vegetable with good prices. We really enjoyed our stay and will not hasitate to come back to Pomorie thanks to its location and direct flight from our city.…
First problem I faced was the lack of enough parking spaces for the guests of the hotel (there are only 12 parking spaces), or at least the possibility to stop in front of the hotel to unload the luggage. The staff was very apathetic and just said there is nothing they can do about the problem. So be prepared to carry your luggage. The restaurant was disappointment as well. The breakfast as very poor quality and the staff looked quite uninterested. The water in the pool was turbid and unclear. At least the rooms are clean and the cleaning ladies are doing their job well.
We stayed there for 2 nights attracted by the low cost offer but regret it as soon as we checked in. It was very dark cold unfriendly place all the way, poor and low level service, restaurant was a disaster...it seemed like there was one person only in kitchen and we had to wait an hour for some of the order while waiter was making faces and did not show to care much. In general bad experience. Pomorie is nice though so I suggest try elsewhere!
All the hotels in Pomorie were booked, so we were very glad to find a room last minute at the Penelope! We stayed two nights here. They were very accommodating and made up a bed on the sofa in our room. Room has AC and WiFi, a nice view of the water, but loud dogs outside. Breakfast was ok, nothing special, although we did enjoy their salads at lunch. Note that beach towels are not provided- you need to bring your own or use the towel from your room.
We stayed at the Penelope Palace on a last minute trip from Plovdiv to the Sea. It was very nice, clean, good restaurant and when the sand bugs got too bothersome we retreated from the beach to the pool. Overall I would be comfortable going back here. It’s not fancy by western standards, but is a little so by Bulgarian ones as far as I can tell.
The room was only about halfsize of what we ordered, so that was not as expected. The personal did not speak english, at all i asked about the toilet and the lady in the reception just replied "yes". All the sun chairs was taken from early morning, so some days we could not be at the pool. The hotel would not remove them. The food in the restaurant was also very dissapointing.
