Hotel's Favorite
In short: The Vencia is an absolute delight, expertly balancing chic yet simple design, efficient yet discreet service, and a location that is convenient yet feels secluded.
Measured in the key categories*, it scores a very impressive 4.8 average.
The long story: We stayed twice at the Vencia, either side of a sailing charter, and the hotel provided a delightful oasis to recover from our various travels. It is within easy striking distance from the airport and the marina, and the Old Town is a 10-15 minute (if you want to go toe-to-toe with the traffic) or a much less stressful 5-minute taxi.
Like most small Greek island hotels, it's a slight hotchpotch of rooms, stairways and corridors, but everything works and means that you genuinely feel like you are in a small, charming hotel. The pool area is expertly managed with subtle music and a welcoming bar; the view - especially at sunset - is classic Mykonos.
The staff must come in for special mention, with everyone from the front desk to housekeeping being friendly, professional, and attentive.
Our room: We had different rooms across our two stays, and the latter (127) is unsurpassed, with cosy interior lounging and two options on the generous balcony. Again, the view is fantastic. Thankfully, the soundproofing does exclude virtually all of the sometimes raucous Mykonos nightlife sounds, ensuring a restful sleep.
Dining: The breakfast is faultless, with a generously stocked buffet and a cooked option featuring local dishes. Everything is fresh and tasty.
The acid test (that is, would I return): Yes, definitely, without hesitation.

Enjoyed our stay and was great because we could walk to town. No hassles with transportation for 9 of us. Everyone was very accommodating and helpful. We were also able to find laundry service within walking distance and it was quite reasonable.

We stayed in the Vencia for 10 nights in June of this year
We had been recommended by some friends
The hotel did not disappoint us
All the staff without exception were lovely & could not do enough for you
We had a smaller bedroom that looked over the centre courtyard & moved to a larger room with a balcony that looked over the sea & back of the hotel. Both were spotlessly clean with new towels every day
The pool facilities are lovely & recommend you get there ea
The pool bar is great & serve the best strawberry daiquiris
The food from the breakfast buffet to the pool menu & dinner menu was just fabulous
The restaurant is inside or outside on a covered terrace or on the open verandah.
The hotel has a shuttle bus to take you down to the town or there is a shortcut to walk, very steep & I would recommend the shuttle bus back.
We have booked again to go this October

We stayed at this property for 3 nights at the end of July, this property is simply amazing. They picked us from the airport on time and very welcoming, the service at this hotel is top notch, Penelope at reception was exceptional; a huge asset to this hotel and was great at recommending restaurants, organising taxi's etc.
The room was in the perfect location, unobstructed sea-view to watch the sunset each night and the room was equipped with all the amenties of a 5 star hotel, the location of the property was easily walkable into the hustle and bustle of Mykonos Town but far enough away to enjoy the peacefulness of Greece.
The pool and pool bar service was outstanding, the bar tender remembered your name day one and always greeted you with a welcoming smile asking how your day was.
We would recommended this property to anyone, and although you might question "shouldn't we be right in Mykonos Town?"as we did prior to booking; we would say NO... this is the perfect location, especially for the sophisticated traveller who doesn't need to be within stumble distance to their accommodation.

I stayed here with my partner for a week in September 2021 and based on the Trustpilot reviews I was expecting to be blown away. The hotel was certainly nice, but I’ve stayed in nicer ones, especially when factoring in the cost.
The positives are that the hotel is in a great location overlooking Mykonos Town. The pool area and furniture is nice and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The restaurant serves some lovely food, I’d recommend eating there at least once during your stay. There is also a lovely Sushi place across from the hotel which id recommend. The rooms are generally clean and to a nice standard (although I have stayed in nicer ones which cost far less… but I guess that’s just Mykonos).
The negatives I found were that the bathroom of our room had a drain hole near the toilet (which collected any water which spilled over from the shower). The downside to this is that there was sometimes a sewage smell. When we first walked into the room after check in it was quite strong… we thought someone had just used our toilet but we later realised that it was this water drain.
Another negative for me was the breakfast. All the reviews on here highly praise the breakfast so perhaps I’m in the minority… but we found that it was always the same thing. Some cold meats, some cold cheeses, cereal, some pastries and some eggs / sausages which had been sat out for a while. There was also salad available which I found quite random for a breakfast? It’s nice the first time you have breakfast… but if you’re staying here for a week or so it quickly becomes boring. I just wish they had some more variety. Perhaps some fresh pancakes? Avocados? Bagels? Omelettes? There was just no variety. Especially when you factor in the cost of the hotel. It isn’t cheap.
The mask policy is also a little annoying. You have to wear one whenever you go inside (which can be difficult when you have just come back from a swim). I know this is stipulated by the Greek government, but you’d often see staff take their masks off when no guests were around, then quickly put them back on when you walk in. The whole thing is pointless… but that’s covid for you.
On a side note… when you leave the hotel to walk to Mykonos Town there is a private walk way available to hotel residents. On this walk way you pass an old dog in a cage which seems to be in their own it’s own ALL DAY. I don’t think this belongs to the hotel, but it’s certainly part of the private path they send you down. It was always so sad to see this dog in a cage alone. It was always there no matter what time of day you walked past.

Dear Climber01364765685, we would like to thank you for your time and interest in writing a review about our hotel! Please kindly note that we always take into consideration our guests comments. Regarding your negative comments we would like to point our the following: 1) The smell from the drain hole is not because of bad cleaning. It comes out sometimes when the direction of the wind on the island is from the south. When understand that this smell is not pleasant but it happens all aroud the island and it lasts for a while. 2) Our breakfast is quite rich and various as mentioned by the majority of our guests. It is American buffet incuding as well some Greek delights. Salad and vegetables sauted are offered on daily basis as there are many guests who prefer vegetarian options for breakfast. We also serve at breakfast some extras which differ from day to day like crepes, Greek donuts with honey etc. 3) Regarding Covid-19 restrictions our hotel follows strictly all the relevant guidelines as our prority is our guests and staff safety! One of our staff, being around exterior parts of our hotel or in well ventilated interior parts, could lower the mask for a while when there are no people around to breathe better during 8 hours of work. This doesn't mean that mask policy is pointless. 4) Finally regarding the labrador dog whose name is Neri I assure you that he is not alone all day long. The 'cage' you refer in your review is an unacceptable characterization. It is an open air, spacious dog house which was made for his own safety as once in the past he almost lost his life from a car as the main road is very close. Neri now is an old dog who receives all the love and care from our family! As there are many guests who either are afraid of dogs or have allergy Neri cannot walk around the hotel all day. Please kindly note that he stays many hours within the day out of his house , in the family's house or in the hotel's office. Your comments about our dog Neri can be really misleading and would be nicer before making your own wrong assumptions to have asked us first. With kind regards Stella Michael

A great hotel with an amazing view of the sunset. Our room was comfortable and had a perfectly situated balcony for the sunset. More than enough pool seating (but this may be different in non-COVID times. We felt totally safe the whole stay, the staff wore masks and the cleaning was excellent. All the staff excelled at their jobs; attentive and always smiling. The pool bartender (sorry I’ve forgotten his name!) made great cocktails. Food was also excellent, though it is Mykonos so expect a little sticker shock. Not as much as some of Mykonos Town’s or Jackie O’s at the Beach locations.
One suggestion I’d offer was to provide daily water bottles, as the tap water we were informed not to drink. But that’s a small thing, which did in no way lessen our experience at the Vencia.

Stayed for four nights, had a pleasant stay. Real high points were the staff (so friendly and helpful), the location (10 min walk into Mykonos town, much closer than most other hotels in the area) and the pool area (stunning infinity pool and immaculately maintained sunbathing areas).
The hotel restaurant is another great plus point for the hotel and breakfast each morning was delicious and beautiful to eat enjoying the view! We also ate from the poolside lunch menu a few times and that was great also - as were the cocktails!
What let the hotel down was our room (126) which was much smaller than expected, with really poor aircon (far from ideal on the hottest week in Greek history!) and also “rustic” decor which bordered on outdated. Our balcony overlooked the carpark which again was a shame. That said, when housekeeping were cleaning both adjacent rooms to us we saw inside them and they were twice the size and looked great - and other guests we chatted to spoke highly of theirs - so I think we might have just been unlucky. Nonetheless, I’d actively request to avoid this room unless you are a solo traveller.

Dear Mynameisjadem, thank you so much for your wonderful words about our staff, our location and views, our pool area and our restaurant! Regarding your comments about the room 126 we would like to point out that this is a surrounding hotel view room at a lower rate than the rest of our room types. There is a detailed description of the room on our web site and other booking engines so that the guests know in advance the size of the room and it's view. There are also photos of the room showing the interior and exterior of the room. This room type is a good choice as a cheaper option offering all the facilities like the rest of our rooms. Not solo travelers book this room as it is spacious enough for double occupancy. We hope to welcome you again if you come back to Mykonos and have the chance to stay in another room type of your preference.

We were family of 4 (2 teenagers) booking a sea view suite with lounge converted to 2 single beds. This made sleeping arrangements tight but manageable. The large terrace was fantastic in the evenings, however there was no shade in the afternoon. This was a shame as other hotels we have stayed in had electric awnings which we were able to remotely operate to be able to use space during day. There was no kettle but there was a fridge. The buffet breakfasts were delicious, huge variety, even able to order complimentary hot food. The orange cake and baclava at the Vencia were especially popular! The hotel is a 15 min walk to centre / harbour. It's a steep down/up walk but the location of the Vencia (outside central Mykonos) means that it is cooler, it is quieter, the sunset views incredible and the infinity pool the star attraction. Unfortunately there is little shade down near the pool area also and those loungers with shade get taken quickly. We were all incredibly impressed with the service from porters, reception, servers to cleaning staff - outstanding! Mykonos has become very expensive. We would highly recommend this hotel although if you want to be in the centre, or near the beach parties, this may not be for you.

Dear 355pr, we would like to thank you for your wonderful comments about our hotel! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and that you really liked our location, our views, our breakfast, our infinity pool and even more our service provided and hospitality offered! Regarding your comment about the electric awnings we would like to point out that we do not use them for aesthetic reasons in order not to spoil the Cycladic architectural style. Moreover the majority of our guests prefer to enjoy the sun and natural Greek light throughout the day. Thank you for highly recommending us through your review! We hope to welcome you again!

Stayed at Vencia Boutique Hotel for 2 nights and can't fault it whatsoever, we had to pay for transfers 10 euros each way and was by thier own driver so was pleased they offered this, our room was a very good size and came with a nice balcony. On arrival it was our anniversary and they laid rose pettles and shaped the towels into swans and left a small bottle of wine which we thought was very nice, thank you!!
The pool area is amazing a great view of Mkyonos good sunbeds in which we always got one, pool warm and the bar staff were amazing friendly helpful in fact all staff were great at breakfast and dinner perfect service I didnt hesitate to leave a tip even though it was only 2 nights. The food was one of the best we had over the 2 weeks away a good selection at breakfast including hot food.
Being the first time in Mykonos we didnt know what sort of prices we would be paying for food and drinks but were surprised how reasonable most things were not the prices we imagined and having just come from Naoussa Paros thought it was slightly cheaper.

I could not recommend this hotel anymore the staff are so attentive & food is amazing.
The bed's are ok I have definitely had comfier but always kept very clean by the maids.
Also the location of the hotel is about a 10 minute walk into town very scenic but would be a struggle with anyone with a pushchair or wheelchair. Only good thing as the hotel has its owns taxi service which is rare with someone Mykonos hotels.
Couldn't recommend Mykonos and the Vencia anymore!!

We went in May which is also considered shoulder season and most places in Mykonos Town were open. I suspect some of the beach clubs and party places may not be open, so kind of depends what you are into. I would definitely call the hotel. I feel like they were pretty honest.
Yes it does! If I remember correct it is €5 per person per way. I called them prior to my arrival to confirm everything. The service was really good. Driver had already arrived and was waiting for us.
Not aware of a launderette but didn't need one so wasn't looking for one. There is supermarket in Mykonos town which is walking distance where you can get most things.
