We stayed here from the 29th June until 7th July and this truly is a beautiful hotel. I have never stayed here before, but know of family and friends that have. This is going to be a very honest review of the hotel. I do not sugarcoat anything but believe in praise where praise is due. Again this is a beautiful hotel, no question about it. We stayed here recently on an all-inclusive basis in a junior suite so I cannot comment on the rooms for people that stayed all-inclusive or half-board. The refurbishment is very high spec and done to the highest standards. All the furniture including outside is top quality. You won’t be disappointed. The majority of people staying here are English. There are some Germans and a few Russians. I saw some reviews about the pools being cold, but we never found that at all. They were beautifully warm and spotlessly clean. We were lucky enough to be in the Platinum Club so had access to the infinity pool above the Platinum Club restaurant. Again that was a beautiful warm pool. The only thing I would say was that it was hard at times to find a sunbed up there. There were plenty of sunbeds around both pools on the ground floor and there was never any problem accessing a sunbed at any time of the day. We only went to the infinity pool once and spent the rest of the time down by the pool. There is a section for the Platinum Club members which I didn’t feel was necessary as it created a “them and us” situation. The staff here are amazing. They obviously have been very well trained and handpicked because they work very hard from morning till night and always have a smile on their face. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Food: we arrived around 8 pm on a Sunday evening so went to the Food Market to eat. There is plenty of choice and it is the only time we ate there. They cater for every taste and the food quality was very good. A server will bring you your drinks. This is buffet style. We ate breakfast every morning in the Platinum Club. It is served on a beautiful terrace overlooking the ocean but you can eat inside if you wish. There is a buffet breakfast, but also a menu where you can have food cooked to order. I had a beautiful fruit plate every morning and sometimes had poached eggs. We always ordered from the menu. The coffee is particularly good but the tea is not as strong as some people would like. You tap your wristband on the outside wall of the restaurant to gain access. There is also a lift just inside to the right which will take you up to the infinity pool and bar. We ate here in the evenings except twice and the food was spectacular. I have a particular love of fish and it didn’t disappoint. Fresh tuna, sea bream, sea bass etc. You have to pre-book the restaurant the day before and if you are all-inclusive you can pre-book them for the whole week using the big interactive boards in reception. We also decided to eat dinner one evening at The Roast which was very nice if you are a big meat eater. All the wine served in the hotel is from the Torre collection which was delicious. You are served by the glass. Again you can eat inside or out which ever you prefer. There are no issues with any flies or wasps as we encountered in Corfu last year and we ate outside all the time. While we were out walking one day we came across this beautiful restaurant called La Torre del Mirador and booked to celebrate our forthcoming wedding anniversary. Turn right out of the hotel ( beach side) and walk for about 20 minutes. We had already taken a look at the menu outside and it looked fabulous. We were definitely not disappointed. We shared a seafood platter which was first class. You definitely need to book here and I would thoroughly recommend it if you are celebrating a special occasion and just want to change from the hotel. We booked the day before and asked for a table overlooking the ocean. We paid just over €100 for both of us which included a bottle of very nice wine and all the food. It has obviously been a very popular restaurant over the years and frequented by celebrities as the cloakroom area is covered in framed photos of many sports stars and the owner. The service is exceptional and the food plentiful. We had lunch every day at The Roast on the terrace and again it has an extensive menu which covers all inclusive. The buffet is also fabulous. Room: just before our holiday started about two months before, I upgraded us to a junior suite and all-inclusive from half-board. We had a partial seaview overlooking the side road and the sea which was quiet. The junior suites are a little unusual to say the least! It is a big room with a bath in the middle of it! The toilet door is half opaque which is not ideal! The walk-in shower is fabulous with a big monsoon showerhead. I didn’t care for this room because it smelt of damp and drains all week. At our welcome meeting the day after we arrived we mentioned this to our Tui rep Russell who came to our room to investigate. He agreed with us that the smell was not acceptable and said he would get back to us the same day or early the next day on whether we were able to change rooms. We never heard from him again . We could understand if the hotel was full and we were not able to change rooms, but to not get any feedback was very disappointing. We expected more from TUI. Having said that, we put up with it because we were out all day. We were in room 4055. We had a maintenance man in the day after we reported the smell but it remained. I had read about the drain smell in a previous review. There is a minibar in the room which is complimentary for all inclusive guests. It is refilled with fresh water each day. There is also a Nespresso machine. The bath and hand towels are changed every day in the morning. There is no turndown service or refreshment of wet towels after your shower in the evening. If you’ve got a bath you can hang them over it like we did! There is a drying area on the balcony for the towels and swimwear. One tip! If you need to go to the loo in the night take a small torch or use the torch on your mobile phone! If you put the lights on the whole room lights up even with just using the light in the toilet area. Pool: as I said before the pools are exceptionally clean and well maintained. We didn’t see any insects in the pool and the whole pool area was kept spic and span. We were refused beach towels on one morning because we didn’t have a ‘ ticket’ The young pool attendant didn’t speak any English so we weren’t able to find out what he meant. We had left our beach towels in the infinity pool area the day before and therefore had none for the next day. We always then remembered to pick up two clean towels before we left the pool area for the day. Problem solved. Dress: this is a beautiful four-star hotel. The majority of people dressed up in the evening as you would expect. However........... unfortunately it became a bit of a Benidorm at times in the evening due to some men wearing their football shirts. They looked completely out of place. Fortunately there weren’t many of them. Men wore long trousers in the evening but you would often see young ladies in shorts coming out of the food market. We didn’t care because we weren’t in there but if you impose this rule you should really keep to it for both sexes. The one thing I loved about this hotel as well is that it catered for all age groups. There were lots of couples and friends in their 20s, 30s, 40s 50s, 60s etc. The atmosphere was lovely in the evenings especially around the beautiful bar overlooking the pool. Smoking as others have reported was also an issue. It was a shame that several people would light up whilst laying on the sunbeds. It would be much better if there was an area for people that smoked. It didn’t bother me too much in the evenings but daytime could be a bit of an issue. Entertainment: sadly not as good as expected. Karaoke isn’t my thing, but I don’t mind listening to it if its any good! There was one couple, possibly husband and wife on a keyboard and singing which sadly didn’t cut the mustard at all. Most people left as it was appalling and I did feel sorry for them. There were a couple of tribute acts, but nothing spectacular. The live music in the beach bars opposite the beach was superb. Lots of people often went over to watch them. Beach: it’s a dark volcanic type sand similar to what you would find in Lanzarote. There is a massive beach opposite the hotel with lots of bars restaurants et cetera. You can take your pool towels over there and just rent two sunbeds and parasols for the day. There are loads of supermarkets nearby and beach bars to buy food and drink. Excursions: we went on two fantastic excursions organised by TUI which I can’t recommend enough. The first was called Teide by night. We had an amazing tour guide called Jack who was Dutch and his equally amazing coach driver called Marcus I believe. It lasts for 6 to7 hours and they were the best hours we had had in a long time on an excursion. Once we had picked up all the people at their various hotels we headed off to the UNESCO heritage site. We stopped at a very charming little restaurant bar area to use the facilities but also have a break for a drink. Jack told us about this typical little coffee called a barraquito which sounded unusual to say the least as it contained condensed milk but it was glorious! If you like coffee please try it. It’s a layered coffee in a little glass with cinnamon on the top. There is also a little gift shop on site which sold some lovely little souvenirs. Our next stop on the tour after a photo stop was a very nice little restaurant where we had a three course dinner. It was delicious and they cater for all diets. All drinks are included and there’s plenty of wine on the tables and you can order beer if you want or soft drinks. After everyone had finished we then left and stopped after about 30-40 mins just above the cloud layer which was the most amazing scene I have ever witnessed. There were a couple of photo stops but this blew us away. Imagine standing just off the road with all the clouds lower than you are. It had to be seen to be believed. We were all given a glass of fizz......... some of us more........hic..... . It was a very romantic stop and a great place for photos. After about 45 mins we headed back to the little restaurant again for coffee or dare I say more fizz! We needed the comfort break! It was starting to get darker now so we all headed off towards the mountain again and pulled into a layby in the darkness where we all got out and assembled at the back of the coach. Jack had a fantastic laser pen where he was able to draw the constellations in the sky and explain all about them. We saw the international space station go over twice and several shooting stars. His knowledge was amazing and he had a great personality. If you haven’t done this please consider doing it. It’s not cheap but it’s definitely worth it. Tip: take a jacket even if it’s boiling hot when you leave as when you go up into the mountains it does get cold. You will be really glad that you took it. The other excursion we took with Tui was a trip on the catamaran Freebird. You are collected from the nearby ( 2 min walk) Hotel Bahia Princess as with the Teide trip and less than 10 minutes later you have arrived at the port. This is a great opportunity to go dolphin and whale watching and we weren’t disappointed. In fact they say if you are unlucky enough not to see any you can go back for free the next day. It is an extremely well organised trip and if you are like me and want a sunbed for the whole trip book the adults only Gold trip. It’s a bit more money but definitely worth it. You will be boarded first with a glass of fizz.......see the theme here! and after a couple of photo opportunities which are not compulsory the catamaran sails out into the deep water. There is a lovely atmosphere on board and it’s suitable for all age groups. One word of warning: if you are elderly or have trouble with your mobility be warned that the toilets are down completely vertical stairs so go before you leave! There is a swim stop after lunch which was great fun. We were served drinks and a really nice lunch on board before stopping to see the short fin dolphins and pilot whales who swam right up to the catamaran. We then headed back to the port before taking back to our various hotels. This was also a great trip. Would I go back again? ............ The answer is yes. I might go a little earlier in the season just because it was so hot. The only reason I gave this a four-star review rather than a five was due to the drain smell in the room and the fact that the entertainment in the evening was poor. Other than that it was a superb holiday.

We have just had a family holiday in the Guayarmina Princess and what a fantastic hotel. The refurbished hotel is amazing, the staff are all so polite and can’t do enough for you. The food is top quality and before we flew I had looked at some reviews and there were a few that were critical of the food. well I can honestly say that they were talking a load of rubbish, the choice of food was amazing and if you couldn’t find something you like then I’m sorry those people need to take a long hard look at themselves. The animation team were amazing and they all work so hard and long hours. We never had an issue getting a sun bed as they provided plenty. The only thing I would recommend around the pool and sun bed terrace area is to play some music as in between sport activities it was a bit too quiet. The bedrooms were very spacious and immaculate with great views. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Arrived 1am 8th July-14th July. We've stayed at this hotel twice before and their sister hotel Bahia last due to the refurbishment. So this year we booked to see the refurbishment of the hotel. Was not disappointment. We arrived late and had a quick check in our room was 2048 a bit reluctant at first as I knew it was on the ground floor. When we got to our room we were not disappointed. The room was lovely. Separate toilet with a big walk in shower which was fab. Bed very comfy. Cleaned every day we looked onto the side of the road which was fine not much noise big balcony. Food excellent staff friendly always smiling. Entertainment staff excellent. Loved that you didn't need to put your towel done so early at the pool. Always beds available. A lovely surprise on our second day a bottle of cava delivered to our room thank you. We will be back had a fantastic holiday relaxing and chilling.

While the hotel itself is great , beautiful room , great food and very laid back atmosphere the location is a nightmare , our room overlooks a busy walkway with bars all along it with music blaring from all of them literally 3 meters away so unless you're prepared to stay up very late you've got no chance of an early night - absolute nightmare certainly won't be back here again , such a pity 'cos it's a lovely hotel

Dear Guest, I thank you for your review, may I ask if you are still at the hotel, and if you are please could I ask that you ask at reception for the possibility of a room change , as I can see that you are unhappy with your room. I have checked in the logs and have not found any requests to move in the last few days. I am very pleased that you think the hotel is lovely, however I feel that your title is unfair as you are reviewing the hotel not the location. Yours Sincerery, Placido Gonzalez - Manager
