The Hotel GF FAÑABE**** is an ideal establishment to enjoy the services it offers, but we would like to recommend that you leave yourself in the hands of its professionals, personal, friendly and familiar attention that will make you feel right at home. For anything you may need, please don’t hesitate to ask and you will get an excellent service from one of our staff who will attend to you immediately and efficiently. You will miss them when you leave the hotel and you will remember the little things they did to take care of you.

Nestled conveniently close to the beach, shops, and dining options, GF Fanabe garners praise for its location despite some noise concerns and the challenge of a nearby hill. While opinions on its value vary, guests appreciate the hotel's amenity offerings, including multiple pools and varied entertainment, though some suggest the rooms could benefit from modernization.
The lively atmosphere, complete with nightly shows, appeals to many, although it may not suit those seeking tranquility. Cleanliness and exceptional service are hallmarks here, with the attentive staff receiving frequent commendations.

Stayed for our 5th time from 16th-23rd December, all inclusive. Travelled with Easyjet. Easy check in at the reception. We had 2 pool facing sun rooms next to eachother. This is the only hotel we have ever stayed at that has met our requests of having rooms together, fantastic and we never have any issues. On our first day, the maids had left us complimentary wine and chocolate for being returning guests, which was a really nice added touch. The rooms are nice and have everything you’d need for your stay including hairdryer, mini fridge, TV and safe etc. We sit around the main pool which was mostly in the shade due to the time of year so the water was quite cold. There are plenty of sunbeds. Some people do come down early to get sunbeds in the sun, but you can’t put the towels there and leave them unattended otherwise the security guard will remove them. There are also pools on the roof and round the other side of the hotel. Food was delicious, lots of variety. If you’re all inclusive you can get chips, burgers, hotdogs and pizza outside at the pool bar after lunch. The cocktails are great too. Good entertainment throughout the day and evening. We enjoyed the Monaco Circus and the Red Dragon. We had a great time with the live music in the reception bar, particularly the man who performed on Monday 18th, he was great fun and got everyone up singing and dancing. The only suggestion I’d have would be to reopen the disco room downstairs to provide more variety for guests who may want more modern music and to dance. There is a games area and gym downstairs also. There are shower facilities downstairs that we used on our last day before we left, and you can put your suitcases in the luggage room too. The hotel is in a great location, with a supermarket over the road, and only about a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and more local shops. We also visited Siam Park which is only about 10 minutes away in a taxi for maximum €15, the reception will call a taxi for you. The reception staff, bar staff and restaurant staff are all so friendly and polite. We had an absolutely fantastic holiday and we will definitely be returning in the future.

So we were in a junior suite, one of their biggest rooms on the 4th floor. Let's start with the A/C which was pretty much useless and the outside temperature was only around 27 degrees. In the summer it would be hopeless , there are 2 vents one facing the lounge and the vent in the bedroom that didn't work at all, no thermostat just a fan volume control. On max it rattled and was too noisy to sleep.
The balcony door latch barely worked and there were a number of areas of paint touched up in the wrong colour. How hard is it to match magnolia?
The corridor from the lift to our room had a bucket collecting water leaking from the AC system in the ceiling , so water on the floor most days.
The spa bubble bath sounded great in the brochure until you realise you have to clamber in and out over a tiled edge with quite a drop . We are both mid sixties, so not great. A walk in shower would be preferable and use a lot less water.
The TVs and safe didn't work so had to get maintenance to visit, turned out it was a dodgy key card, sorted with a new card.
Asked reception after the first day to replace the dirty cups and supply new tea bags and coffee was told that would be €3 every time. This was supposed to be a 4 star hotel!
Pools on the roof which is adult only were cold and really just plunge pools. The smaller pool tucked away at the side of the hotel was ok for temperature. We were looking forward to a swim in a decent size heated pool, disappointed..
However it isn't all doom and gloom. The breakfast choice was wide with both hot and cold offerings all be it a bit of a zoo with people milling around going to and from the buffet stations
The staff were cheerful, attentive and kept the empty plates to a minimum.
Can't review lunch or dinner as we didn't try them. The room was kept clean every day so no quibble there.
The hotel can be noisy with not only it's own "entertainment" noise, but also from surrounding properties and hotels, it is closed in on all sides.
If you have room on the front of the hotel, I hope you are a smoker and like noise because that's what you will get. The outside smoking areas often had entertainment and busy till late on, think 1am.
This side of Costa Adeje is more upmarket, this is reflected in the prices of bars and restaurants nearby.
Paid around £2,000 for a week with flights, breakfast and private transfers. Didn't get a 4 star vibe..

Dear Paul, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the wide breakfast selection and found our staff attentive and cheerful, as well as the clean room service. However, we're very sorry to hear that several aspects of your stay did not meet expectations, from the air conditioning issues and balcony latch to the maintenance concerns. Your comments about the spa bath, pool temperature, and noise levels are also appreciated, as they highlight areas we need to focus on for improvement. Your feedback on amenities like the TV, safe, and replenishment of room supplies will help us enhance our guest experience, and we’ll be reviewing these aspects with our team. Thank you again for sharing your insights, and we hope we can welcome you back in the future for a stay that truly reflects our 4-star standard. Thank you for your visit. Regards GF Fañabe Team

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveler reviews.
This is NOT a 4 star hotel, maximum I would give is a 3!! Lots of problems with this hotel: 1. Everything is on a QR code and an app which you need to download if you are to get any pricing or access to phone directory. There is nothing in the rooms even a phone number for reception or the emergency services (should you need them). Hotels response to this app is that they are environmentally friendly however if you want to know the WiFi login details this is printed on small bits of paper which are handed out to as many guests as request to know the login details so defeats the object of being environment friendly and having everything on the ‘app’. Why don’t you print the login details for WiFi and telephone numbers then laminate this in every room like other hotels seem to be able to do?
2. Sun bed situation is appalling - people are reserving beds and have towels draped over the bases at 7am! We witnessed this and no staff member removed the towels.
3. Water is bought to the tables with cap removed. You should not remove the cap before guest has seen the water was sealed. How do we know this isn’t just tap water out into the bottles and then served and being charged €2,50.
4. Hotel is extremely dated and not that clean (had hairs in our shower and maid didn’t clean the floor hence black feet when you walk around the room) Very old and tired needs a refresh and cleaning wasn’t to what you would expect in a 4 star hotel!
5. Reception staff were a bit abrupt and waiting staff in restaurant did not give you a lot of information about food choices or even putting the costings of your drinks on the receipt, yes even they didn’t know what drinks cost and referred you to the famous ‘app’.
6. Music playing everywhere even in your room there is no peace as music is playing in the corridors.
Won’t be returning to this hotel Jet2 need to come and do a visit or stay as a mystery guest to find what’s really going on at GF Fanabe. Definitely needs bringing down to the 3 star max as this is misleading!

Dear Laura; First of all, we would like to thank you for your attention and the time taken to share the details of your recent stay. We regret that, in some respects, we have not fully met your expectations on this occasion, however, we will review all the issues raised and will continue to work to introduce all possible improvements. Regarding the pool areas, we have 3 pools on the ground floor with ample terraces and sun loungers, as well as the two plunge pools on the roof, also with a spacious terrace and sun loungers. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused with regard to sunbeds reserved by guests, since we do our best to enforce our policy for no reserving. By other hand, we would like to emphasise that at the GF Fañabe service orientation and personalised attention to our customers are of the utmost importance and we are characterised by it. We have taken note of your comments regarding your disappointment with our staff and we have passed them on to the head of the department, for their consideration. Finally, please accept our sincere apologies if you could not spend your holiday as you would have expected. We hope that we will have the chance to welcome you back to GF Fañabe to assure you about our high standards and exceptional service. Kind regards. Danisa, Manager, GF Fañabe

I am a frequent traveller and have an open mind about on resort hotels. Here is what you need to know. Forget getting a sun lounger unless you place a towel poolside by 8am, pool opens at 10am so you know. You look out from your patio and they're all gone. There is no enforcement by the hotel to meter this out, beds are taken for hours and no one comes back. The restaurant is a riot, jostling at the food bars, kids running between your legs. And expect to queue to get in. The drink is the most expensive I have found of any resort hotels. I took this up with the manager but didn't buy his BS. I got charged €9.10 for a single shot of rum and coke. A beer is €5. Walk across the road and you'll struggle to pay more than €2~€3 for a large beer. This part astounded me, I found €50 in the lobby and handed it to the bar staff to see if someone would ask given that it had been dropped. The bar staff took it and placed it in the tip jar. I was speechless. The rooms are well appointed , clean and fresh. The maid service is excellent. Would I stay here again, not a chance. You have a lot of choice to spend your hard earned euros and this wouldn't be it. If queues are what you are looking for, drink prices that are of the scale then this is for you. And to the manager, I'm in room 368 and it's McIntyre. I expect you will put some cringey response. And for your reference and as I explained to you at reception, when you check.my passport you will see no fewer than 9 stamps for overseas travel ytd and its only April. I can say with some authority your hotel is very expensive, I was in Dubai two weeks ago and struggled to pay what you charged for a rum. I was in Fuerteventura last week (stayed at the Barcelo) was 30% less than you charge. I gave two stars and thats for the cleaners.

Dear Guest; Thank you for sharing your experience at GF Fañabé. We regret that, in some respects, we did not meet your expectations. We do not allow guests to reserve sunbeds in order to facilitate everybody's use of the pool area. You can find boards with this information, all around the hotel and also this is monitored daily by our pool staff to avoid guests reserving beds and not using them. However, we have 5 pools: 3 pools on the ground floor with ample terraces and sun loungers, as well as the 2 plunge pools on the roof, also with a spacious terrace and sun loungers. Regarding the drinks, We have a wide range of drinks and various options from All Inclusive (includes drinks and all-inclusive alcoholic beverages) to premium spirits such as Havana Club 7 year old rum among others. We greatly appreciate your positive feedback regarding the rooms, their amenities, and cleanliness. Your comments serve as a valuable source of motivation for us to continue delivering exceptional value and consistent service to all our guests. We hope you will give us a new opportunity to welcome you back to our Hotel. Kind regard Danisa, Manager, GF Fañabe

So we travelled to Tenerife and stayed in the Gf Fanabe from positive recommendations from friends who had stayed some years previous. Check in was fair, took slightly longer due to complexity of 12 of us whom were staying over 3 rooms.
Positives: - Rooms were spacious and clean. Towels and bedding changed daily. - towel facility for pool beds was great. - overall food in dining area was of good standard & selection. - able to obtain beds as a large group around smaller children's pool.
Things to be improved on: - Staff overall were not friendly. We were provided with no information on kids club or how to book in and the one time I attempted to take my daughter I was advised it wasn't running as nobody had booked on. - Staff in the dining room not hospitable, asking for a fried egg was awful due to Staff attitudes. - drinks overall poor quality and over priced. - aspects of the hotel were tired & dated. - found a maggot in burger from pool side eatery!
Overall if you are wanting a basic base then this is the place. Slightly outside of the main centre of bars & shops but easy enough to access via walk and short taxi. This is certainly not 4 star by any standards. Staff appeared tired and had poor social interaction. The final staw was on the last day finding a maggot in the burger purchased from the poolside bar.

We booked this hotel as we'd previously stayed at The Gran. Unfortunately, that was out of our price range as we now have two children in the mix. Being a sister hotel, we had high expectations, despite the 4* rather than 5* rating.
Upon arrival, the main reception area looks worthy of the 4* status and the staff were welcoming and informative.
Once in our room, it's clear that the hotel is in desperate need of a refurb. The rooms are incredibly dated and no amount of paint over a ceiling that has chipped plaster can cover that up! On arrival, there was debris on the floor and the bedside table drawer had nail clippings in- utterly disgusting! However, daily cleaning moving forward was good and we had our towels changed as needed.
I'd requested a quiet room, which we got overlooking the games pitches and smaller pools. This was a good location for us and we couldn't hear noise from the hotel, but could hear the bar across the road. Thankfully this stopped by 11pm each night and as our children are 8 and 11, they could cope with the noise.
The location of the hotel is good. We went to Duque beach, which we preferred over Torvisca and Fanabe. We also had some excellent food and drinks at The Winchester along the Fanabe seafront. We also utilised the free bus service to Siam Mall, which stops outside the Duke Shopping centre up the road.
We were on a half board basis at the hotel and the food was average. However, completely what I'd expect from a mass dining buffet experience. We always found something we liked and left with full tums.
The sunbed situation is really quite ridiculous. Thankfully, sitting round the pool all day every day is not our idea of a holiday and we were able to get beds at 4pm, which suited us just fine. However, when we were down by the pool, it was incredibly frustrating to see a number of beds empty during our time there and families returning bone dry and dressed! Clearly hadn't been in the pool, but took up 10 beds between them! The lifeguards are also poor. Most of the time the guy at the main pool is just sat in the towel hut. There's no way he has full vision of the pool and poor/dangerous behaviour wasn't being picked up on. In fact, today we witnessed children push the lifeguard into the pool! The small pool is no better as there are too many people in there for the size, especially with the amount of huge floaties allowed in there. The lifeguard there also just sits on a table and doesn't supervise properly at all.
All in all, we enjoyed our holiday, but that's because of what we did outside of the hotel, rather than the hotel itself.

Stayed here in July we have stayed at other GF hotels. The hotel good points Lovely and clean Good location to beach bars etc Friendly staff who are very helpful We stayed bed and breakfast and I think the breakfast option was good and plenty of choice. Used the gym and I found it had everything we needed What need improving
We had some day trips planed and we weren’t bothered about location for sun beds and were happy just to stay at the kids pool, we found no issues finding a sun bed, we were a week before the kids six weeks and by the end of the week it was full every day if you weren’t down by 930ish you wouldn’t get a sun bed at the kids pool either! but the sun bed situation was shocking! I have no idea why one person can go down and keep as many beds as they need for as long periods of time up until lunch time as long as someone lying on 1 bed? People were up from silly times in the morning to get the beds. Like I say it didn’t impact us but I can totally see why this would impact people and spoil peoples holidays, the hotel 100% did not have enough subbeds for the people in the hotel. We were a family of 3 and only took 2 beds as the my child only needs a bed for like 20 minutes to get dry. The best hotels I’ve found have been the ones were you reserve your beds on the morning and if your not at them by 11am you lose them at least people can have breakfast together etc. I did find the hotel on a nighttime very loud too. We were right above the the night time entertainment so we just knew after day 1 we couldn’t go to sleep till after 11pm but most nights that was fine. We got this hotel at a good price and I would say it was worth the money if I was paying more than 2.5k for a week in this hotel would I say it was worth it no. But I do think small changes and the hotel would be lovely as it’s got some really good points.

Arriving at the hotel it was a quick swift check in process. The room we were allocated was overlooking the main pool where the families were mainly based. We did not sit around this pool as it was mostly in the shade. The adults only area on the Solarium was delightful. Plenty of sun beds and parasols to choose from and lovely views across Adeje/Fanabe area. Fabulous bar area with plenty of seating. Just a shame it was all closed from 5.30pm. General facilities such as toilets were always clean and well kept. We based ourselves on All Inclusive which I didn’t think on this occasion represented good value for money. Majority of cocktails had to be paid for only a select few were available on AI. The restaurant needs an overhaul, we just didn’t think it provided a wow factor for the presentation of the food. Even though food was on hot plates it wasn’t hot. For a 4* hotel I didn’t think this was good enough. The bedrooms were very comfortable and plenty of room. We enjoyed our break in the resort but wouldn’t stay at this particular hotel again.

Another fabulous holiday at GF Fanabe. On arrival at reception we were greeted by Sandra “Welcome back”, you really do feel like a valued guest. This review will pretty much be a repeat of my last review at GF Fanabe as standards have been maintained at a high level. The rooms are larger than average and are clean and well maintained. On arrival they give you a ticket for pool towels that can be exchanged when needed. As a couple we didn’t spend any time around the main pool as we used the fabulous adults only roof area. The view of the harbour from here is fabulous as is the peace and quiet! The other two things that make a good holiday for us are food and entertainment and neither disappoint. Breakfast is fresh and varied, the fruit choice is great so is the cooked food. A big shout out to the omelette makers, they are so quick resulting in virtually no queues. As with previous years we really look forward to the evening meal, there is so much choice with most of the meat and fish cooked fresh whilst you wait. The dining staff work so hard to clear empty tables and clear away plates.
At night there is always entertainment at 8.00pm at the front of the hotel, usually a singer/guitarist or duo. Then at 9.00pm an act on a stage near the main pool.
Location wise yes there is a short hill but by walking a bit further you can navigate up less steep slopes to make it more manageable, it’s really not that bad.
There are numerous supermarkets, bars and restaurants in the area
We’ve already booked again for next year and speaking to other guests so had many others.

Good location about a 10 -15 min walk to Playa del Duque which we loved. Golden sandy beach and Fanabe closer also nice but darker sand. We hired scooters to get around especially as the hotel is on a bit of a hill. Food adequate (we had AI) - nice porridge and omelettes to order and usual brekkie, always paella in the evening. Good discount on premium drinks.
Clean room always cleaners about - we were close to the bar so bit noisy but only till 11ish and from 7-7.30am could hear chairs being dragged below . Long weird pillows but beds comfy. Generally hotel is a bit tired and needs an uplift. Main bar outside area overlooks the carpark so not very picturesque but get what you pay for. Pay extra for safe & kettle and need to remember to bring water to your room. Surrounded by 5* hotels but without the price tag. Met a couple who’d stayed there 13 times so many regulars
