We spent six nights at the Gran Tacande as a replacement for our hotel which had shut. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are top notch and the pool area is very nice. We very much enjoyed our time there. My only criticism is they could use a few extra bar staff given that they have to come to the table to take your order due to coronavirus. However, the bar staff that are there work extremely hard to get round to everyone. A particular highlight was Andreas' couples poolside massage class. Overall, a very good hotel with very attentive staff.
We have just finished a great 10 days in this hotel and I have to say we loved every minute. All the staff were lovely and very friendly, our room was huge with a jacuzzi bath in the middle it and we never had a bad meal during our whole stay. A special mention has to go to Andrea from the animation team who is one of the nicest guys I've ever met and really worked hard to keep people entertained with daily activities even with the current restrictions in place. We had massage classes, a spa circuit and aqua aerobics with him. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone thinking about booking and will hope to stay here again on our next trip. Thanks for a great holiday Gran Tacande from Gary,Anouska and the children
This review may be a little long as I want to try and cover everything. We luckily managed to fly out on one of the last flights to leave the UK. The day before we were due to fly out we were informed that our original hotel was closed so we was being upgraded to Gran Tacande. First impressions were really good. The hotel is beautiful and the reception staff and management are really friendly and helpful. We decided to upgrade to Gold Class swim up room for €60 per night. We thought it was a great deal. Including in the gold class is 1 spa circuit, the sunset terrace, which has a bar and heated infinity pool, free gift etc. Room - Our room was really spacious and very modern. The bed was huge and really comfortable. There is a large telly on the wall that has English channels and you can stream from your phone on to the telly too. The swim up was a brilliant addition. Our son loved that he had his own pool. Food - I cant complain at all about the food. There is so much choice so you will always find something you like. The meat is cooked fresh and steaks cooked to your preference. There is always a joint at the carving station too. Everything we had was delicious and considering this hotel doesn't usually offer All Inclusive I think they done a brilliant job. Location - The hotel is right by a shopping mall and about 10 minutes walk to the bars and restaurants. Took us about 20mins to get to the beach but we do have a child in a wheelchair so walk a little slower. Accessible - We have a child in a wheelchair so thought it might be helpful to include about the accessibility for anyone else in our situation. The hotel is really accessible. There are ramps and elevators everywhere so we never struggled to get to any part of the hotel. The rooms were large enough to get the wheelchair around and to store. Covid - Masks have to be worn around the hotel unless you are seated or in the pool. There are hand santinising stations all around the hotel too. All staff wear masks. There was a 10pm curfew but this didn't impact our stay. They handled covid really well and we always felt safe. Id say safer than we feel at home. Staff - One of the best things about this hotel is the staff. They are all super friendly and helpful. Some of the best staff we have had in any hotel around the world. Nothing was too much trouble, they always greeted you and made my son feel special too. Christmas - The hotel is decorated with Christmas decorations, they played Christmas music and on Christmas day Santa visited and all the children got a present. Our son is 10 and got a smart watch. We thought this was a lovely touch and all the children were so excited to see santa. Entertainment - The entertainment every night was great. There was a 10pm curfew but that didn't really impact our stay at all. We had singers, Disney show, opera show, flamenco show, acrobats etc. All of them were really and a lot better standard than other hotels we have stayed at. I cant fault this hotel at all. I would recommend 100% and we was really sad to leave. We hope we return again in the future, once covid allows. Thank you to all of the staff at Grand Tacande. You made our Christmas stay really special.…
Stayed here for one week with my wife and 3 year old daughter, I thought bar staff was very arrogant and rude, felt like they didn’t want to be there or serve us, hotel is in a nice location but would not recommend for families as they don’t like children being children, Diego the chef was brilliant and needed more help serving food as he was on his own a lot of the time trying to serve several people, Andreas the kids entertainer was also good but was limited to what he could do as hotel restricted him from usual duties, thought hotel was understaffed.
I booked a Christmas holiday to stay at the “Tigotan Hotel in Las Americas Tenerife for the 16.12.2020 I was sent an email 2 weeks before my arrival informing me that the hotel is CLOSED and I can no longer stay there so they have arranged for me to stay in their sister hotel called Gran Tacanda hotel in Costa Adeje. One week before my arrival the Tigotan hotel informed me that the hotel is now OPEN and I can now stay there. Today the 16.12.2020 I arrived at my original Hotel the Tigotan to find it was CLOSED. I am absolutely outraged and don’t want to stay here. This complete incompetence has utterly ruined my entire Christmas holiday and I want to go back home to London.
