After reading some negative reviews I just wanted to write something to defend the hotel that we love. We have stayed multiple times and will continue to do so. Some people on here seem to forget that the world is a different place at the moment. Anyone who has been able to get away on holiday is so lucky to have been able to do so. But no matter how much the hotel has done to protect us, at the same time as staying operational, it’s just not enough for some people. We always stay either self catering or bed and breakfast so I can’t comment on evening meals. The holiday started with a friendly greeting, as ever, and then shown to our room. The room was spotlessly clean and we were pleased that there wasn’t anyone in the room next to us as this room has a shared terrace. The whole hotel was spotless and was constantly being cleaned through the day. Even by the pool when anyone left a sun bed for the day, a cleaner appeared and gave everything a thorough clean ready for someone else to use. The breakfast room was slightly different to normal but for obvious reasons it had to be. A lot of things are Pre-poured or Pre-packed and the buffet is served to you. There is massive variety of food for the whole family and we all really enjoyed it. There are hand sanitising stations on entry, exit and on entry into the food area. They are also all over the rest of the hotel. I don’t have a bad word to say about the staff. There are reduced numbers of staff so they are run off their feet but always friendly. I never once saw a member of staff take their mask off for even 1 second even though it was well over 30 degrees. Really enjoyed the good humour of the waiting on staff of a night even though they didn’t stop running around. As far as safety goes, the hotel and its staff couldn’t have done a single thing more. And they deserve massive praise that they have kept the hotel as normal as possible whilst doing this. The hotel was as good as ever and we will definitely be returning at some time next year. Please ignore the negative reviews. Nick Saville

Dear Nick, Thank you for sharing your very kind review. Following the Covid crisis, our staff has worked very hard to implement all the new hygiene and security protocols for the safety of our guests. We are delighted that you could enjoy your holiday with us in the same way as before this situation, despite the modifications which we have had to make in some of our services. We appreciate your compliments for our staff and we assure you that it is feedback such as this from our guests which motivates us to keep working to offer the best customer experience. We look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel next year. With kind regards Manager, GF Isabel

This was our 3rd stay at GF Isabel. We don’t usually return to the same place again and again, but we just fell in love with the place and it was good this year to go to a place we trusted. I was slightly worried it wouldn’t be as good in previous years because of the pandemic, but the hotel has done a fantastic job. We had a wonderful time while still feeling safe. We arrived late and had the usual warm welcome including food left for us in the restaurant. Miguel rushed out to meet us from our coach and helped us with our bags, including taking them to our room for us. This is a lovely touch. The food on offer is still brilliant. You must wear a mask when you go up to the buffet which is now served by the staff to you or is in individually wrapped portions but there is a huge range, it is hot and really tasty. The selection of desserts is greatly reduced compared to previous years, but we still really enjoyed what there was (or used it as an excuse to go out for dessert!) The animation team work absolutely tirelessly and deserve huge credit. There was plenty to do for adults and kids and a kids disco (socially distanced) and a show every night. Particular mention here must go to JJ who was brilliant with us and our daughter from day 1. Although there were restrictions on numbers in the pool, this was never an issue as the hotel was quiet. We also never had an issue getting a pool lounger. The pool bar is fantastic with a great range of very reasonably priced food, so we had lunch there most days as we were HB. We were waited on most days by Jesus, who was always really friendly and welcoming. We used the spa this year and had THE best massages. Would highly recommend this. We also paid the extra to have bungalow accommodation this year, which was really worth it. As ever, the rooms were clean, the air con was effective and the beds were comfortable. The only slight disappointment was that we celebrated a birthday and our wedding anniversary during our stay this year which I did let the hotel know about and I did ask for price options of ways to make this special. They did respond to let us know they would help us mark the occasions, but nothing happened. Really though, being in Tenerife at this lovely hotel was a huge treat in itself. I am sure we will be back for a fourth visit.

This was our second visit to Gf Isobel and it didn’t disappoint. 2 families 4 adults 2 teenagers stayed in the exact rooms we stayed in 2 years ago on our first stay which was a lovely touch. On arrival it was my partners birthday and a bottle of champagne had been left In our room by the hotel, lovely gesture. The hotel was quieter than normal but we expected it to be with everything going on in the world, to be honest we didn’t mind it as no queuing for beds and the bars. The cleaning staff were second to none the place was spotless 👏👏👏👏 All staff were polite and friendly and always welcoming. First time we stayed for Bed and Breakfast and was as expected very Hand Contact free in place so no toasters and staff served all the warm food products. I wasn’t a fan of the cooked breakfast so only had coffee and light breakfast a couple of days and ate out the rest but overall it was ok. Hopefully won’t be our last stay at the hotel but as I said earlier the Hotel complex felt very safe and was spotless and most people adhered to the mask policy around the facilities. Well done to all the Isobel team for another great stay. Many thanks

What a lovely place! We booked bed and breakfast and stayed in a one bedroomed bungalow with a small garden terrace, which was the perfect set up for our family (consisting of us, a 3 year old and a baby) The children’s pool entertained our oldest for hours and the main pool was lovely for an afternoon’s swim. There were plenty of sun loungers and it was fairly quiet. The food in the restaurant was good quality, varied and plentiful and the whole complex was clean and tidy. There is a large SuperDino supermarket practically next door so really easy to stock up on essentials. I only have two criticisms: the mini-disco starting at 8pm was a little late for us and the hotel is up a fairly big hill from the main town/beach (fine for adults but not so much for little legs) Overall, we’d happily return here again as we had a super holiday!!
