GF Isabel hotel boasts a prime location cherished by guests for its beach proximity and local amenities, despite the challenging hilly terrain. The hotel's vibrant atmosphere, tailored towards families with activities like mini discos, might be less inviting for couples seeking peace. While the rooms are appreciated for their cleanliness and size, they are criticized for being outdated and noisy.
Commendations are consistent for the hotel’s cleanliness and the staff's excellent service. However, concerns about noise, value, and additional costs suggest room for improvement.

Detailed Reviews
This hotel is lovely. Quick check in on arrival by friendly staff. One gentleman even took our luggage to the room. The hotel was clean throughout including the room. Traditional Spanish rooms, we found where we was that there was no loud noises and was not disturbed. The bed situation was a bit frustrating as it was 2 single beds pushed together but kept easily moving.
Location was ideal, about 10/15 mins walk to the main bars and restaurants. Pool area, again lovely and we found no issues with the sun beds.
We had bed & breakfast however the first visit for breakfast was not pleasant and the food was not a reasonable standard. We ate out every day since, which for us was not a problem but others may do.
Overall lovely hotel and would not hesitate to book here again!

After a 10 year break from spending Christmas in Tenerife we decided to return. We spotted this hotel many years ago but under a different name as a RIU. Jet 2 holidays were offering a villa within this resort at a good price so we decided to book. From the moment we checked in we knew we had made a good choice. Reception is very inviting with lovely friendly staff. We were shown to our villa, the complex is set out as a spanish village, with apartments being accessed via lifts from reception to village streets leading to bungalows and villas and more apartments. There are 3 pools, the main one in the centre with a snack bar, 2 others further back. The main restaurant was where we ate our breakfast and dinner. We had booked on an all inclusive basis, and didnt try lunch as we felt the snack bar had enough for our tastes, hot and cold offerings. All under covered serving plates. All the bar staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort is very conscious of recycling with plenty of bins around the resort, we took our own water bottles to the bar for filling up and travel mugs for coffee. Our villa was very spacious and with our own garden we had our own sunbeds. We had a kitchen which is suitable if you are on self catering. Food in the restaurant was wonderful. The seafood buffet on Christmas night was the best weve ever tasted. At the main restaurant for dinner you wait to be shown to a table, waiters then bring you your drink of choice whether you are on all inclusive or half board or full board. Breakfast is again wait to be seated but after that its collect your own drinks from the various points within the restaurant. Food choices were plentiful, catering for everyone with plenty of choices we never had a problem in deciding what we wanted. All in all we loved this resort so much we booked again before we left for home.

Currently staying at GF Isabel, thought we would write a quick review to give an update on how things are.
Having arrived around 1900, the hotel staff were very welcoming on check-in, quickly getting us checked-in and got our luggage to our room very quickly. The room was already set up for our family and was spotless.
We made it to dinner and there was no queue. We understand from family who have stayed before that there are some changes as a result of the current situation. More food is in individual portions and other items are served to you rather than self service. Food may also be slightly more limited but there has been a good selection and plenty of it.
We have never had to queue for the food and drinks are served by the team very quickly too. All the staff have been very friendly.
The hotel has a fantastic layout, which our boys have enjoyed exploring. The pools are great.

I'm sitting by the pool in glorious sunshine on our final afternoon of our 10 night stay at this fabulous friendly hotel. This is our ninth visit to this hotel and it gets better every time we visit. We are a family of four and we stay in a one bedroom bungalow which more than meets our needs. It is spotlessly cleaned every day and towels and bedding changed on request. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Loads of activities going on for all ages and the animation team do a great job, special mention to bianca, Johnny, vladi and Daniel. The food is exceptional, and something for everyone, Rafael and his Dining room staff are very efficient and friendly. The bar staff, I cannot speak highly enough of, their energy and running around looking after their guests with big smiles on their faces makes our holiday, special mention to rafa,Anna. Dominico and borja .the drinks from the bar are of good quality too. The location is fantastic,a 10 minute walk to the beach, a supermarket 5 minute walk one way and a lovely shopping centre 5 minutes the other way. Things we have done are, siam Park, boat trip go karting and 10 pin bowling, however I think our boys could have been quite happy staying on the complex, the main pool is heated and is like stepping into the bath! The sunbeds are plentiful. Also something I have just found out is if you have spent 50 nights in this hotel you can register and receive 15% off your holiday when booked through gf website, something I will be doing when I get home, can't wait to return, Sonia, Roger Zac and josh 😎

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment here at the end of April with our 2.5 year old son. The resort is designed like a Canarian village with low rise bungalows, apartments and villas which is a nice change to the high rise resorts. The location is quite central with only a 10 min walk to the beach (downhill) with nearby supermarket and shops. There are some lifts here for the apartments so no problem with a buggy, they also provided a cot free of charge. This resort is quite popular especially with young families which suited us fine. Face masks were not required to be worn in the resort as most restrictions have lifted (buses do require face masks though). Our apartment is quite spacious with a useful kitchenette and lovely balcony. We didn’t really cook here as we went half board, but we appreciated the fridge/freezer and the plates and cutlery for lunches. They even provided some useful sponges and washing up liquid, but unfortunately no dish drainer. Food at the resort was varied with some nights better than others. After a week, it can get quite repetitive though. It would be good if they had more Asian/ oriental cuisine as I was missing it after all the Spanish and Western type food all week, some soup noodles would have also been nice. Themed cuisine nights would also be nice to have a bit more variety. It would have been nice if they provided at least water free for dinner (they only provided it a breakfast). There were 3 sittings for breakfast and dinner. We chose the early sitting (8-9am for breakfast and 6.30-7.45pm for dinner). Plenty of high chairs for the babies/toddlers. The kids seemed to love the mini disco which is from 8-8.30pm. There were three heated pools, our son loved the splash park with the water slide and the medium sized kids pool. We didn’t get a chance to use the main pool. Pool towels provided free of charge. There is a communal chargeable laundrette which we didn’t use but nice to know it’s there. We would have appreciated some pegs to use on the small rack in the balcony for drying swimming costumes. We highly recommend this resort especially if you have young kids (if you are not travelling with kids, you will be in the minority)! We were able to use the facilities on our last day too which was nice before our flight back.

We spent week in this hotel and everything was just perfect. There were seven of us - four adults and three kids so we had two next door bungalows for two families with kids and I was staying in the apartment. Apartment was in the adult part of the hotel close to solarium area, so if you have no kids and want some nice quiet time you can get it. Both apartment and bungalows were very well equipped and cleaned every day there’s swimming pool for adults and two pools for kids with slides etc. There’s playground for kids, pitch to play football or basketball and indoor playroom. Plenty to do so and you’re never bored..
There were animations for kids and for adults in the evening, all very good.
We were staying on b&b basis and breakfast was great, great choice of cold and hot food, juices, fruit etc. We had dinner one night and was great choice too and actually very good value.. they do buffet lunch by the pool and it good too and only9 euro for adult, 6 euro for kids.
It’s close to the beach only few minutes walk .
Staff was friendly and helpful so we were very happy and had lovely time
Thank you all!

After reading some negative reviews I just wanted to write something to defend the hotel that we love. We have stayed multiple times and will continue to do so.
Some people on here seem to forget that the world is a different place at the moment. Anyone who has been able to get away on holiday is so lucky to have been able to do so. But no matter how much the hotel has done to protect us, at the same time as staying operational, it’s just not enough for some people.
We always stay either self catering or bed and breakfast so I can’t comment on evening meals.
The holiday started with a friendly greeting, as ever, and then shown to our room. The room was spotlessly clean and we were pleased that there wasn’t anyone in the room next to us as this room has a shared terrace. The whole hotel was spotless and was constantly being cleaned through the day. Even by the pool when anyone left a sun bed for the day, a cleaner appeared and gave everything a thorough clean ready for someone else to use.
The breakfast room was slightly different to normal but for obvious reasons it had to be. A lot of things are Pre-poured or Pre-packed and the buffet is served to you. There is massive variety of food for the whole family and we all really enjoyed it. There are hand sanitising stations on entry, exit and on entry into the food area. They are also all over the rest of the hotel.
I don’t have a bad word to say about the staff. There are reduced numbers of staff so they are run off their feet but always friendly. I never once saw a member of staff take their mask off for even 1 second even though it was well over 30 degrees. Really enjoyed the good humour of the waiting on staff of a night even though they didn’t stop running around.
As far as safety goes, the hotel and its staff couldn’t have done a single thing more. And they deserve massive praise that they have kept the hotel as normal as possible whilst doing this.
The hotel was as good as ever and we will definitely be returning at some time next year. Please ignore the negative reviews.

Dear Nick, Thank you for sharing your very kind review. Following the Covid crisis, our staff has worked very hard to implement all the new hygiene and security protocols for the safety of our guests. We are delighted that you could enjoy your holiday with us in the same way as before this situation, despite the modifications which we have had to make in some of our services. We appreciate your compliments for our staff and we assure you that it is feedback such as this from our guests which motivates us to keep working to offer the best customer experience. We look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel next year. With kind regards Manager, GF Isabel

I visited this hotel in October 2020 and I was impressed by the Covid 19 restrictions that were in place, all staff and guests followed the rules by wearing masks in public areas and the hotel was cleaned regurlarly. I had an apartment that was really spacious and had all amenities in the kitchen area for self catering although I was half board. There was a lot of choice of food at meal times and the entertainment staff worked really hard during the day and in the evenings. It is a very big complex with a choice of 3 pools and a terrace with a jacuzzi. I would return tto this hotel in the future.

Just got home and we had a fab time. 2 adults and one child. Hotel wasn’t busy little one had kids pool park to himself mostly. Kids club was unbelievably fantastic he loved it! All staff was friendly and helpful, we upgraded to a villa paid extra but we realised it was noisy due to next door building works staff very helpful and moved us and I was refunded immediately. We had a bungalow in front of pool which was very clean, all staff wore masks and happy.
My little boy bought lots of toys when out with his “pocket money” staff cleaned room left him a bucket to keep them in and he was ecstatic over it.
One staff member a older gent always happy cheery and called the little one “happy boy” which made his day and he looked forward to seeing him everyday.
We were bed & breakfast only had breakfast once wasn’t the best food was cold and very little on offer however I can understand under the circumstances. Drinks very cheap. Bar service was brilliant.
Even Covid friendly kids disco all kids and staff worked brilliant. Felt safer here then at home and if we could of stayed we would. We didn’t have neighbours as they don’t have two room next door occupied due to Covid which I think is fantastic. The hotel has very clearly worked hard to re open in the safest way, they had a tougher lockdown then us and couldn’t even leave home for exercise and they really are grateful for everyone coming back.
We ate on evening at local Restaurants sad to see the scene so quiet.
Weather was fantastic. Cleaners done exceptional job cleaning constantly. Masks enforcement by security and staff if not worn. I noticed the English seemed to follow rules it was other nationalities which clearly didn’t. Tenerife is always our happy place but GF Isabel and staff went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time before returning home.
As for another review over water, when we were there our bungalow bath ran yellow water until it came through properly, not a problem just run the tap for a few mins and all was well, remember people this hotel has had no guests at one point and a lot of rooms will of been un occupied for a long time before tourists returned. Be happy, have fun and support them.
Thank you for giving us a amazing break and we can’t wait to return!
We have visitedGF Gran, GF Fanabe and we wouldn’t use any other chain.
I am a instagram follower and they responded quick to my enquires before we got there.
Again thank you! We hope all staff stay safe!
Ps hand sanitiser is available at every point in hotel contact free !

This was our 3rd stay at GF Isabel. We don’t usually return to the same place again and again, but we just fell in love with the place and it was good this year to go to a place we trusted. I was slightly worried it wouldn’t be as good in previous years because of the pandemic, but the hotel has done a fantastic job. We had a wonderful time while still feeling safe.
We arrived late and had the usual warm welcome including food left for us in the restaurant. Miguel rushed out to meet us from our coach and helped us with our bags, including taking them to our room for us. This is a lovely touch.
The food on offer is still brilliant. You must wear a mask when you go up to the buffet which is now served by the staff to you or is in individually wrapped portions but there is a huge range, it is hot and really tasty. The selection of desserts is greatly reduced compared to previous years, but we still really enjoyed what there was (or used it as an excuse to go out for dessert!)
The animation team work absolutely tirelessly and deserve huge credit. There was plenty to do for adults and kids and a kids disco (socially distanced) and a show every night. Particular mention here must go to JJ who was brilliant with us and our daughter from day 1.
Although there were restrictions on numbers in the pool, this was never an issue as the hotel was quiet. We also never had an issue getting a pool lounger. The pool bar is fantastic with a great range of very reasonably priced food, so we had lunch there most days as we were HB. We were waited on most days by Jesus, who was always really friendly and welcoming.
We used the spa this year and had THE best massages. Would highly recommend this.
We also paid the extra to have bungalow accommodation this year, which was really worth it. As ever, the rooms were clean, the air con was effective and the beds were comfortable.
The only slight disappointment was that we celebrated a birthday and our wedding anniversary during our stay this year which I did let the hotel know about and I did ask for price options of ways to make this special. They did respond to let us know they would help us mark the occasions, but nothing happened. Really though, being in Tenerife at this lovely hotel was a huge treat in itself.
I am sure we will be back for a fourth visit.
