This was our 2nd time at this hotel, having also stayed in November 2021. The hotel is of a good standard. It is a bit of a maze when you arrive until you find your bearings though. Rooms are huge! We had a bedroom and a separate living room/kitchenette. There are 2 pools here, plus a small children’s pool. Pool 1 near the main building is heated. Pool 2 which is round the back of the hotel isn’t heated, so is very cold when you first get in. There are sunbeds around both pools. Always managed to get a sunbed, but I can imagine that in the height of summer, it may be tricky. We found the food to be really nice. Lots of variety. Always different meats on and a good choice. The staff are so friendly. The drinks on the all inclusive are local brands, but are fine. Beer was Amstel, which I enjoyed. We didn’t watch any of the evening entertainment, so can’t comment on that. The hotel is situated about 10-15 minutes walk from the beach. It’s on a hill, so it is a walk up the hill back from the beach, but it’s not that steep. The beach area is nice. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants on the promenade and also between the hotel and the beach. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

Just returned from a 7 night stay. Previously stayed in March 2020 just before covid. Staff are still very pleasant (apart from the male receptionist who is extremely abrupt) they have made a change to the main pool area. Snack bar is now on 1st floor not by the pool, whilst I agree that this has been moved to a better location the snacks are now not fresh. Just left for hours so everything is like a brick. Entertainment could be better, hit and miss. Housekeeping, for the entire 7 nights not once were our floors cleaned. Lifeguard needs to be consistent, although your child can swim anybody under age of 10 he wanted to put armbands on them alot of parents were annoyed by this. Not sure I would return as I personally felt standards arnt what they were prior to covid.

We are here for a fortnight, but we are writing this review after just one week because we are so disappointed by our experience so far. If we had booked this holiday as self catering, we'd have given it 4 stars, but in terms of an all-inclusive experience it is definitely only one star. Let us explain:- ROOMS The apartments are spacious, comfortable and well equipped - everything you'd need for a good break in Costa Adeje. Some of the furniture is a little tired and in need of replacement, but generally the apartments are absolutely fine. Every apartment in the complex faces south, so all of the balconies get the sun at some point in the day. although there are 4 or 5 blocks and they do not all have lifts, so worth watching for those of limited mobility. CLEANLINESS No issue at all with the cleanliness of the complex - the rooms are cleaned 5 days out of 7 and the cleaners do a good job. FACILITIES There are 2 pools in the complex but both are small and the sunbed areas around them are equally small, so unless you are up at the crack of dawn to reserve a sunbed then you have no chance. We are generally up at around 8am but even by then the sunbeds are all booked out with towels. ENTERTAINMENT There are various daytime activities such as aqua aerobics, yoga, kids dancing, etc. but whilst we understood that there is evening entertainment we have never found it. BARS There are bars at each of the pools during the day and a lobby bar in the evening. However, the lobby bar only seats around 40-50 people and the seats are all taken shortly after 6pm when it opens and standing room is limited. There is another 'Millenium Chill Out Disco' bar in the evenings, but it is incredibly stuffy and very poorly lit - not somewhere that you'd want to spend any time at all because it is intolerably hot and stuffy. As such, in our week here to date we have never yet managed to have a drink sitting down anywhere. FOOD Part of the reason that we booked here was because there were so many good reviews advising how good the food was and how much choice there is. We have no idea what these people normally eat if they thought that the food here was anything other than utterly diabolical! Breakfast - Hard to go wrong with this (you'd think) and there is a decent selection of continental type stuff. However, the cooked breakfast choice is sausages (which are tasteless and overcooked), fried eggs (hard, rubbery and overcooked), hash browns (always almost raw) and beans. Moreover, whilst there are machines that dispense reasonable coffee, there is no way to make a cup of tea - there are tea bags but the machines only dispense lukewarm water so no matter how much you stir and squeeze the tea bag you do not get tea. Lunch - Given the lack of sun-beds around the pool we have had to go out every day so have not tried lunch. Dinner - This is very much like primary school dinner service - there is always a choice of three things. One of these is always a pasta dish but having tried two they were both completely bland with very undercooked pasta. One of these is always some kind of overcooked meat dish which looks like you could use it to re-sole your boots with and the third is some kind of stew dish (presumably made from the previous evenings meat dish leftovers). We have gone in for dinner every evening so far but have only been brave enough to try to eat anything on two occasions, but have ended up going out for dinner every night. Honestly if this was your kids school canteen you'd make them a packed lunch instead. Snacks - There are snacks served for a short period during the day next to the pool bars, but this comprises of rubbery hot-dogs or overcooked burgers with stale rolls and cold chips, or a selection of curled up sandwiches. Despite paying around £1,000 extra for all inclusive over self catering, we doubt if we have had more than £20 worth in the week we have been here so far. LOCATION The hotel is in a good location and only 10 minutes walk to everything in Costa Adeje, including the beach, shops restaurants, etc. That said, it is up a hill (Costa Adeje is a hill!) so again might not be suitable for people of limited mobility. As we said at the start, if you come to Playaolid on a self catering basis then it would be a good choice and decent base for a holiday in Costa Adeje, but please do not make the mistake of booking an all-inclusive holiday here.

Huge room with separate bedroom. Kitchenette with microwave, electric rings, toaster, kettle fridge and coffee maker which was ideal when travelling with little ones for making bottles and heating up baby food. The complex was kept spotlessly clean and the cleaning staff were really friendly. 3 or 4 pools including a baby pool which was brilliant for tiny tots. Location was great and wasn't far from shops. The pool we used was great and inflatables were available to use for all. The dining room was spacious and staff friendly and attentive. I'm a really fussy eater but the food was the best ever! Full marks to the chefs! From checking into the hotel to checking out the staff were so nice and we look forward to returning!

Actually had a really good time here for a week with the family. We went all inclusive for the first time to control our budget, which worked out really well. The food, while not ideal, was generally pretty good, and we didn't feel that we needed to eat out much. The rooms were big, and generally clean with dual A/C. Wifi worked everywhere, but was a bit slow. The dinning area was busy, but the staff were very friendly and hard working. Slight let-downs were the pools which were a bit cramped and very cold. Location was fine and things to do nearby. We would visit again.

My wife has gluten and lactose intolerances and it is difficult to find hotels which can deal with these. We arrived late, after the dining room had closed and were given a package with a snack, which was marked with our room number. As I had emailed the hotel in advance, the food was gluten free. When we went to breakfast, we introduced our selves to Juan, the head waiter. The chef came out and identified what my wife could eat from the buffet, which was not extensive but gave us comfort that they knew what they were taking about. Lacto-free milk was readily available. She was then given a plate with various breads and gluten free rolls etc. She was ok to take unused items for later meals that day. This happened every morning. As we left the dining room, she was asked what she wanted for dinner and chose chicken. This was cooked when we arrived and was brought to the table. She was asked every day what she wanted for the evening and had pasta, salmon, white fish, tuna, chicken, rice, an omelette and separately cooked vegetables and gluten free desserts. She could have had more variety with meat but she does not eat pork, lamb or beef. It was great to have the confidence that we had no health worries with food. When Juan was on his days off, his deputy, Lucas, the chefs and waitresses looked our for us to make sure she was catered for correctly. They were all amazing and I would have every confidence in recommending the hotel to anyone with food intolerances.

Hotel lovely and clean staff lovely and friendly Food was ok - breakfast was the best Lunch was ok with plenty of choice But Dinner was a struggle - Choice wise - no theme nights - seem to be the same most nights - wife and son struggled so ended eating out 5 of the nights found the food hall so noisy at times - not really relaxing dinner experience more like a school dinner hall - but you wouldn't go hungry but special praise to Christina who does the yoga and children activities - credit to the hotel - also carlos from a pool bar - lovely guy tea bags - omg the worst tea bags in the world - had to go out a buy some enjoyed staying there though - we never go same place twice as a rule - great for families - not for couples

Just returned home after a wonderful 6 days here and I am picky but I honestly couldn't fault it. We needed some sun and relaxation and that's exactly what we got. A lovely clean and family friendly hotel. Food was decent a bit samey but we often skipped lunch and went to the snack bar instead so tea was a surprise. Drinks were of good quality, staff great attentive and friendly. Activities on offer for all ages. Night time entertainment could be better but it was adequate as we like our sleep anyway and was over by 10pm. Highly recommend walking down to the beach in the evening to watch the sunset. Did a day trip to siam Park taxi 6 euros and the hotel made us a picnic to take. Would definitely return and I've never said that about a destination but for the price it is definitely worth it.

We enjoyed our week at the PlayaOlid. Rooms were a good size (one bedroom, bathroom, living area with bed, kitchenette etc). Food and drinks good - we had breakfast most days - something for everyone. Dinner time was fine - we ate out a few times to break the week up and that was fine. Good location but on a hill - didn't cause us any issues. Supermarket a few doors down for the essentials and 10 - 15 minute walk to the beach. Quiet area which suited us. Would recommend.
