Just back from this wonderful hotel. As you arrive, we got a taxi from the airport, and walk in to the stunning foyer, it takes your breath away, it’s so beautiful and spacious. The greeting on reception, well, it really makes you feel at home right away. All checked in and our luggage is taken to the room. The rooms have a Spanish feel, not all chrome and glass, if that is what you are looking for go to the Victoria down the road. The rooms are spacious, slippers and bathrooms are provided. There is an electronic safe, spare pillows and blankets should you need them. Tea and coffee are provided, if you want replaced, ring housekeeping who will happily replenish for you. The food in the hotel offers so much choice, something for everyone - I recommend the salmon baked in salt, it was fabulous. The pasta station is a great favourite too but there is a choice of at least 2 lots of fresh fish and 2 meats cooked to order as well as the prepared food in the buffet. If you are vegan, mention to reception and you will be catered for. The bathrooms are spacious with his/her sinks, the shower is over the bath. Toiletries are provided and replenished as used. Towels are changed in the evening when the beds are turned down. Wi-Fi has improved around the pool area but, a wee tip, there is a switch on the back of the tv in your room which goes from slow to medium. Medium is great. Towels are provided at the pool and can be changed daily at the towel hut. No reserving the sun beds around the pool and leaving your towel on them before 10am! The towel police remove the towels and bags, causing much amusement for others. There are lots and lots of sun beds so there is no reason to reserve the beds anyway. If you have any sun cream, books etc left at the end of your holiday you can leave them in reception for others to use, the hotel is very sustainable. The entertainment in the evening is mixed, we enjoy some but others not so much. Justo and Elaine are our favourites. There is a self service restaurant, an a la carte restaurant and the pool bar becomes a lovely restaurant at night, Aguita. You pay at the second and third restaurants with a discount if you are AI. The drinks available on AI are excellent and the waiters and waitresses are excellent. Special mention to Claudia in the pool bar, happy birthday again, and Mr Moises who seems to be everywhere. The staff in the hotel really are the best and go above and beyond for the guests, we asked for a specific room before arrival and we got one 2 doors down, it was just as good a view, both mountain and ocean as well as Fanabe at night. Everything is spotlessly clean, everywhere. Will we return to this hotel? You bet! The travel agent is pricing it up as I type this. Alessandra, coffee next time x

I stayed at this hotel as a party of 3 friends in December. Been to Tenerife several times but it was our 1st time at this hotel. We had read lots and lots of reviews so kind of knew what to expect. The hotel is amazing, it’s huge! Literally still can’t find my way around and we are in day 4/7! The lobby/reception is the biggest I’ve ever seen, this also houses the main bar and entertainment area. The hotel is spotless, very very clean. The staff are on the whole incredible! V friendly, efficient and can’t do enough for you. The rooms are big, plenty big enough for 3 adults in one room. They are not modern but I think this is clear from the pics. Beds huge, bathroom huge, v clean. What exactly do you need! We booked a standard room but emailed the hotel to enquire about an upgrade to a pool view after lots of reviews recommended them. They said it was €12 per person per night. We decided not to and believe me we are very glad as our room was great! We asked for higher floor and they gave us 4th with a lovely view of the mountains! The food is brilliant. I have stayed at several 5star hotels all over Europe and this is definitely on par if not one of the better buffets. For those complaining that the food is cold, its more than likely the time people take filling their plates up and walking round till they start eating! Buffet food is never absolutely piping hot! It’s just impossible by the time you get fork to mouth! Loads of variety, something for all tastes. The pools are fab, we loved the rooftop adults only one. The entertainment was varied, some were better than others. I feel like this hotel is 90% full of over 70s! (But it is December) I definitely would not come with my young child as very little for kids! The entertainment were always playing to a very tough old crowd who the majority couldn’t even clap their hands or show any enthusiasm! A bit more atmosphere would not go amiss and I mean from the majority guest population! I would definitely return. Amazing hotel and staff. M

We stayed for 7 nights in Oct. 2 adults, an 8 year old and 5 month old baby. Half of the staff are very helpful and polite but the other half are moody and rude. The pool takeaway food is always cold and substandard for any type of restaurant. The sit down food is good for a quick snack. The main buffet for dinner is limited in comparison to others we have stayed in Costa Adeje. We had all inclusive but had to start eating out as the food was poor. I watched a cook use the same knife for uncooked and cooked chicken. Table staff are polite and usually arrived with drinks orders quickly enough. Room service is poor; cups and plates were dirty almost daily and never replaced even though we requested this be done daily, even with the hotel manager. They have a rule for wearing trousers in the main restaurant for dinner which is a gimmick to make themselves feel posh when it’s 100% not. The pool area is nice and clean but it’s not “heated” like they say. It was cold. We tried all pools and none were heated for our little baby. Location is spot on and so is the view, if you get a nice enough view. Would I stay here again? No.

Dear Amarbbb, We would like to thank you for sharing with us your holiday experience. We regret knowing that you have experienced some issues. They have already been reported to the relevant departments. Besides, our food handling policy is very strict, and the hotel complies with current regulations on the matter. However, we will keep a close eye so that to keep high standards requested for a 5-star hotel. With regard to buffet dinner, our guests have also the chance to choose special dishes according to their dietary needs and tastes and our chefs are delighted to satisfy their requests. As far as the temperature of the pools is concerned, our heated pool’s temperature is around 28 degrees Celsius. We really hope we will have the chance to welcome back here and offer you the best of our hospitality. Best Regards, Eliseo, Manager, GF Gran Costa Adeje

Have just returned from a lovely stay. Was greeted by name by a very friendly lady called Ketty on reception which was a lovely touch. My friends had arrived before me and she kindly got us rooms close together. The room was very spacious but very dated (I had expected this from reviews I’d read previously) The temperamental hand held shower above the bath was definitely NOT 5 star! I had difficulty getting it to work and reception sent someone to fix it for me and I was informed there was a ‘knack’ to using it, you have to lift both levers at exactly the same time (so you must ensure you have the correct temperature and force before turning on) have never experienced this before but was made to feel I was the one with the problem and not the shower .. The plastic bathroom ceiling was very noisy every time you opened or closed the door. The wooden door frames were rotten. The room was kept very clean and water and milk was replaced daily however my friends water and milk was never replenished without them having to phone room service. Unless seated at the dimmer sides of the restaurant it really was too bright and noisy. We were half board but changed from evening meal to lunch so we could dine out. The wine was very expensive if not on AL package. The coffee was probably the worst I’ve ever experienced in a hotel and had to go to coffee shop next door for a decent coffee. Entertainment was quite good, we enjoyed Barry White as did all the other guests but the area was far too brightly lit and not a nice ambience. The friendly staff are what make this hotel, the restaurant staff were all so friendly and helpful (special thanks to Racquel at the fruit section who got me avocado even though it wasn’t displayed) We enjoyed the aqua aerobics every day, the team were very good.

The hotel location is in a lovely area of costa adeje with a variety of shops bars and restaurants on the doorstep and the beach a 10 minute walk away. The staff are great ,very pleasant and helpful. The variety and quality of food at breakfast is amazing with something for everyone. We have been staying here since 2014 and while a lot of public areas have been refreshed the rooms don't seem to have had the same attention. We stayed in the same room this visit as we had earlier this year at my request and seen and smelled a real decline in it. It had a damp fusty odour and the door rubbed the floor tiles each time it was opened or closed. The grouting in the bathroom floor tiles is very grubby and makes the floor look dirty the cupboard housing the minibar has seen better days. I didn't ask to be moved because I'd requested the room due to its location to the lifts. We did report the door rubbing but it wasn't fixed. I will stay again but had to drop it to 4/5 stars for the room and it took me 4 trips to reception to have the coffee replenished in the room. I do hope they revitalise the rooms because its a lovely place to stay.

We stayed at the Gran from the 10th November for 14 nights, we didn’t know anything about this hotel, as we were due to fly to Crete in September and hubby tested positive for covid on the morning, we were due to fly and on phoning TUI we had to change our booking then and there or lose our money hence no research. I emailed the hotel regarding an upgrade to a suite, which we did and was the extra £1000 worth it no!! Yes, we got tea, coffee, milk, water replenished everyday and pool towels left in our room but that was it, according to the hotels website we should have had 2 balconies but all we had was a railing across the lounge doors. We arrived at the hotel of an evening, the outside and reception had the wow factor, checking in was easy and the staff was extremely helpful, informed us that the restaurant was still open if we wanted something to eat and that our bags would be taken to our suite. The buffet, restaurant is extremely large, bright and noisy. I can only describe it to being in IKEA. Food labelling is hit and miss, I have a nut intolerance a couple of times I ended up with nuts in something. don’t get me started on the desserts, they had one label for the whole display, that they could contain everything and anything. In the ended I stuck to the salads, fresh cooked meats and fruit, as I didn’t want to spend another night in the bathroom. So, anyone with allergies etc beware. The rooms are typical Spanish décor, which is fine, but they could do with refurbishment, there are not enough sockets near the beds, so please take an extension lead with you. The bathrooms need remodelling, having to climb in the bath for a shower that flooded the room each time you use in not great fun and the bath towels need replacing. I don’t think the hotel could squeeze, anymore sunlounges around the pool they are so crammed in, in places. The towel police in the morning are a great idea and very entertaining, do not leave anything on a sunbed before 10.00, otherwise it will be removed, wish more hotels did this. The area around the hotel is fantastic and would definitely return to the area, just not to the Gran

Dear Guest, Thanks for your comments and for sharing your holiday experience with us. We are glad about the positive feedback for our services, such as the courtesy kettle and tea bags and the kind words spent for our staff. Our primary concern is our client’s satisfaction as well as keeping our standards high. For this reason, we are sorry that the buffet restaurant was not up to your expectations. We pay much attention to food and our clients’ dietary needs. Although all products are labelled and allergens are displayed, the hotel offers the chance to prepare special menus, tailored to the client and their needs and preferences. It is possible to refer to the staff at the reception that has available forms where clients can select the dishes and the menu they prefer. We are sorry that you were not completely satisfied with your room, we understand that as part of running a successful hospitality business, sometimes significant renovations are made in an effort to modernize or simply remodel an establishment, we have been indeed working on some refurbishment in the Hotel as guests can appreciate, the entire pool area, including the pool bar, swimming pools, etc. The entire hall, with new furniture and many other areas. As part of our improvement plan that we have in order to maintain a Hotel of this standard, we will continue with our work plan as per requirements. We do hope to welcome you back in the future and offer the best of our hospitality. Kind Regards, Eliseo, Manager, GF Gran Costa Adeje

Stayed at this hotel for one week in November. Two couples one ages 50/60 and the other in 20s. Location of hotel was excellent for younger couple. Rooms were spacious and very clean. All areas of hotel were clean and in good order. We stayed all inclusive and whilst it can be confusing what drinks are included we just checked what was AI and stuck to that. Plenty of food choice and I am very fussy!! Nice to have a heated pool as non heated were a bit chilly. Usually visit Cape Verde for our holiday so nice to see somewhere different however just a bit too busy and overcrowded for us.

We stayed 8 nights earlier in the month. From the time we checked in until we checked out, the staff were first class. They are a credit to the hotel. We were staying on a b&b basis. The breakfast offered a great choice of options. My favourite was the omelettes cooked to order. And we discovered the very yummy banana smoothies on our last morning. I tried the cava one morning but it wasn't great so I didn't have it again. Our room (541) was very spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. It was at the back corner of the hotel with a lovely side sea view on one side and a mountain view on the other. The mattress was a bit on the hard side for me but perfect for my husband. However, it is a very personal thing. The shower screen on the side of the bath was leaking a lot of water. One of the cleaners had the foresight to leave one of the used towels in the bathroom every day so that we could use it to soak up the overflow on the floor so it wasn't slippy. The storage in the wardrobes was great and there was a safe in one of them which was very reassuring to store our passports, etc. There was also a fridge which we used to keep our bottles of water, etc. nice and cool. There were also tea and coffee making facilities but we never used them. We also found spare pillows in the wardrobe, which were very handy. The pools near the buffet restaurant and on the sun terrace on the 6th floor were excellent. There were always sun beds available on the days we went there (even in the afternoon) and the water in the pools was heated, which was great. The entertainment was very good overall. Something for everyone. Our favourites were the ballet/ballroom dancers on the 11th and the two tenors on the 13th. On the nights the entertainment wasn't to our taste we sat outside in the lovely terrace area. We went to the fabulous flamenco show in the GF Victoria on the Thursday night. It was just jaw droppingly good. The lead dancer, Fran Chafino, was an amazing dancer. He didn't want to end the show. We would highly recommend this show and there is a 15% discount for guests of the GF hotels group. The drinks choice was ok. The hotel is geared more for the all inclusive market. There could be a better choice of white and rose wines. Overall the prices were very reasonable and the cocktails were very good. All the waiting staff were excellent but we'd like to give a shout out to Luis (from Venezuela) in particular. For eating out, the Italian restaurant across the road from the hotel was brilliant (Il Vecchio). We ate there 4 out of 8 evenings and each time the food and service were sublime. Overall, we had a great holiday. It is a fabulous hotel with very special staff who always put their customers first. We look forward to returning in the next year or so.

We stayed here pre covid and decided to return for some winter sun this year. As others have said the gran is 5* on facilities and not necessarily quality of facilities. We would return as love the location and the lovely area ls in hotel. Rooms are traditional and ours was perfect , for all the time spent in a room on holiday. Staff lovely, helpful and very hard working. The big difference on this visit was the food, in particular buffet breakfast- we were only B&B this time. Last time we're half board and found the buffet to be one of the best. Breakfast however, although had huge choice, had dropped in quality and hot food was cold every day, except for omelette which were made for you and were fab. Other items that should have been hot were stone cold - luke warm, which was a shame. Had a lovely meal in a la carte restaurant one evening and several lovely lunches in pool bar. We ate out every evening as know the area and so many great restaurants near by either lovely views of sun set. The only other thing that wasn't fab was the very tiny pool towels, which didn't cover the loungers! In June we stayed at Jardine navaria and got a fitted towling cover for longer plus a large fluffy pool towel for drying off after swim, little things but makes the difference in a 5* as is the lack of any waiting service round the pool. All in all I like this hotel, I like the atmosphere, the staff and the very relaxed atmosphere- so although I don't genuinely class it as a 5* in luxury terms it's a fun place to switch off and escape from home.

Prior to our arrival we emailed the hotel to request interconnecting rooms. On arrival we were informed that because they were interconnecting one of the rooms had a double bed. We are 4 mature ladies so didn’t want to share a bed. Christina on reception was amazing and managed to swap these for two rooms on the same floor just a few doors apart. Our cases were taken to our rooms which was a lovely touch. Rooms are a great size with a really big bathroom. Yes as others have said they are a little dated but they are extremely comfortable with lots of storage. The staff throughout the hotel were so friendly and we truly got looked after. Never had a problem finding a sun bed and parasol. The removal of towels if beds are saved early then left empty is fantastic and stops selfish people reserving them before going for breakfast. Loved the pool bar and bar at the front of hotel. Service was always good and drinks served in lovely glasses. Everything was just brilliant right up until checking out. We had the misfortune to be served by Kelly on reception. We handed in our room and towel cards and we were told we had an outstanding amount of just over €10 Euros to settle on room 5. We explained we weren’t in room 5 but 105. She was really rude to us and blamed us for handing in wrong ticket. There was obviously some misunderstanding when we handed back our pool towel the previous day and we were given wrong card. Kelly has obviously never received the same customer care training as Christina as she has such a bad attitude. We absolutely loved our week at GF Gran and we hope to return next year.
