The hotel was very clean and tidy. The rooms where well looked after and cleaners friendly. Showers where good and clean towels provided daily. The location is close to the beach. Reception was slow, the bar ques where ridiculous sometimes 20/30 minutes for a drink. This 80% of the day. The food was ok and what you expect from a hotel buffet could be more varied, especially breakfast which is exactly the same everyday and quite tasteless. Most staff are friendly but on some occasions they could come across rude. It is Understaffed therefore they do not have time to provide a better service. Entertainment team in the day time .... disappointing. The annoying thing is this hotel has potential to be really good. Amazing terrace area that is rarely used .. this could do with a small bar serving refreshments and a working pool . There is a lovely spa in the hotel also, this could do with better advertising. This hotel was not worth what we paid, we paid extra than usual to ensure we had a good holiday but was not what we expected. Had far better value for money elsewhere. The drinks for half board customers where also pricey compared to local bars. Not ideal area for children as it is right next to Veronicas strip, will not be retuning.

Dear guests, Thank you for your comments about the Hotel Troya. Although it seems that we haven't managed to meet your expectations this time, your review is positive criticism, which is welcome in any case. Your good impressions on the cleanliness of the Hotel, the good condition of the showers, the nice and well-appointed Spa, the privileged location, and the correct food service, are very appreciated. We have taken the comments about the Bar service into consideration, and the staffing at this selling point has been strenghthened. We hope that we can provide an overall better service. We hope you enjoy your next choice on your holiday break, Kind regards,

Disappointing holiday to be honest. Takes a week to be served at the bar because of short staff they had 1 woman serving drinks, taking orders for the snack bar and always on the phone to the hotel. We found going to the shop for our own drinks was quicker. Rooms got cleaned daily which is the only positive. Entertainment during the day was w*nk, no water sports no balls aloud in pool with repetitive music. Food was ok some days. Overall this hotel is 3* at a push. 15-20 minutes walk to playa las americas and taking minors here isn’t ideal as it’s very close to the Veronicas strip. Some of the restaurant staff were rude. (Won’t be going back)

This hotel is VERY clean, the food leaves something to be desired, the water pressure in the shower would take the plaque of your teeth, which is a good thing. The pool bar has one person serving so often their are long queues, overall this hotel is sh*t, not worth a carrot. 4 star? I think not.

Dear guests, Thank you for highlighting the cleanliness of the Hotel, as well as the well-appointed shower and bathroom. It is true that at the pool bar it can be busier at certain times in the day. Therefore, we have strengthened our bar team, in order to provide a better service. Your rude and impolite language to describe the Hotel is not welcome, and furthermore, when you give no specific reasons to support your bad words.

Great hotel and a fabulous location. Couple of maintenance problems that were both sorted within 10 mins of being reported. Food was good and the staff friendly. Hotel and room was clean and tidy, the pop up retailers are a great idea, along with the 2 boutique outlets. I will be returning in July.

I should start with the disclaimer that I did not choose this hotel, I was moved here due to the one I booked becoming unavailable and quickly realised this is not set up for families. Small selection of family rooms are situated at the back overlooking a nice family hotel and a carpark, rooms are nice and spacious but unless you get a room with a terrace (2nd floor) then you are given a balcony which is wide enough to fit one person - the whole family could not fit on this which was a disappointment. Location is great with the beach being just a stones throw away however you are literally on top of Veronica's strip, you can't hear the noise from the rooms at the back but you are immediately in and amongst everyone as soon as you walk out. The pool isn't very big and you aren't allowed to have inflatables, in fact if your English you aren't allowed to have fun, my son was shouted at by the lifeguard for jumping in and yet he then turned a blind eye to the spanish kids doing the same - VERY biased. Entertainment is SHOCKING. They run zumba every morning and then play darts or similar shortly after, in the evening the mini disco is at 9pm shortly followed by either a dancer or singer that is as entertaining as watching paint dry. This hotel just does not cater for families with children and we quickly established that we would need to go out every night to occupy the kids.

Dear guests, Thank you for spending some minutes of your time in leaving your comments on the Hotel Troya on Tripadvisor. We are glad to read your good impressions about the size and the well-appointed FAMILY ROOMS. We would like to inform that it is possible to ask for a room change if you find the balcony too small, as there are different types of terraces within this room category. Your good comments on the great location and the quietness of our establishment are really much appreciated. We regret to know that we haven't managed to meet your expectations in other points. It is true that inflatables at the pool are not allowed, due to security reasons. Small floats for children learning to swim are of course permitted. We would like to state that we do not make any differences at all among our guests. We try to provide a polite, professional and a helpful service to all of them. If you have had a different perception, please accept our excuses. We feel sure that there was a misunderstanding. With reference to your comments about the entertainment, please be aware that there are some activities that we still cannot perform, due to the Coronavirus restrictions. We used to have a kind of water park with inflatables set in our pool, once or twice per week during the summer season. That is something that unfortunately cannot be done at the moment. If you want to visit us again in the future, you will be more than welcome. We would like to have the opportunity to improve your impressions on the Hotel Troya, Kind regards,
