I had a very relaxing weeks holiday with my mum. My mum has mobility difficulties but this was not a problem due to the availability of transport buggy’s around the complex. We ate most evenings at the hotel in the different restaurants, but because it feels like a little village it did not get boring. The hotel is very clean and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly without being intrusive.

Stayed here from 5-12th April. Would not return, what a disappointment. The hotel says its starting a renovation phase, it desperately needs it, the rooms are tired, walkways are dirty, tiles are broken. Food was a total disappointment in both quality and service. Breakfast buffet is ok, standard huge room offering everything and quality was fine for breakfast. Alisios Market - Literally incapable of cooking a steak, had to send it back twice, by the time they brought it a 3rd time everything else was cold. Was told by the waitress that the Chef thought it was perfectly cooked. If i am the paying customer, it is my choice on how its cooked, not the Chef's. Table two down from us sent back the Chicken because it was pink. By pink, it was so rare it still had feathers on. La Trattoria was the only decent meal we had. Food well cooked and presented, staff were good. Sua - This turned into a total farce. Main course arrived with no fries or vegetables. Requested to the waiter, who turned up 1 min later with the vegetables. Still no fries. Request again. Waitress comes over, request missing fries. she never reappears. Then the manager appears, doing his walk of the restaurant, all jolly and happy. Mention missing fries, to which he returns 5-6mins later with them, by which point everyone was finished. Original waiter just shrugged his shoulders when the manager pulled him over. Dessert, 2 out of the 4 arrived. Waited 10mins before other two arrived. Waiter thought it was acceptable to serve this 10 mins apart. I expect all food to be delivered at the same time. La Brasserie - food is just bland. If you eat by in the terrace by the villas, dont order the stir fry. Meant to be beef. It was utterly vile, actually smelled off. Daytime food around the pool was a joke unless you want to live off chips. Literally couldnt prepare a salad without it tasting bland. Oh and they stop serving food at 4pm so if youve been out for the day and want a quick snack on your return to the pool, you are out of luck. Service around the pool is poor. One waiter covering the whole top section of pool area for drinks/snacks. Poor bloke tried his best but he was run off his feet and could take 30-40 mins to get a drink. Swimming Pools. they have three main ones and a small kiddy one. One at the top is "heated". It was cold, but packed because the other two are unheated, and as you can imagine in April, like an ice bath. Only the brave ventured into those, and not for long. Totally pointless having the largest, quite nice pool totally unheated and therefore no one using it. Reception Staff are just useless, highlighted by day of check out. Called at 850am from the room to reception to say at 920am could someone come collect the cases. She immediately called back asking how many cases ( 4). All confirmed, see you at 9.20..... 9.30am still waiting, but these things happen, i call reception, to which the reply was "oh i thought you would call back at 9.20". Why would i call at 8.50 to book at 9.20 for you to suggest i then call back at 9.20. Anyway, can you send someone now please. Of course Sir. 9.40am, still waiting, so I walk upto reception and gently ask. She said see front desk, to which three bell boys are standing around having a chat. By this time our taxi is waiting. As i approach the three, without any prompting he says room 402? Oh yeah, forgot, we'll go now. They have a room ( club room i think its called), next to Reception where you have to go to make all of your bookings for restaurants etc. One thing to note, they will not call the spa for you. you either have to return to your room to dial it, or call from your mobile. Was beyond surprised at this by hey ho. Hotel right next to the beach, standard spanish public beach and you'll struggle to get beds/umbrella beyond 10am but thats outside of the hotel control. 25 odd euros for 4 beds. You can walk into either of the towns about 15mins each way. Few restaurants, shops, bars. Shopping mall 2 mins from hotel with good supermarket. Overall, would not return. How this is classed as 5star is beyond me, 2star at best anywhere else in Europe. Nowhere had enough staff, whether a restaurant, pool, bars. Food is poor, and in some places grim. Pools are cold. Staff just shrug their shoulders and dont really care. This place needs a serious makeover in both condition and staffing to become decent again. Much better options in Tenerife.

The hotel is excellent the staff are very attentive friendly and extremely helpful. The restaurants were very good but you do need to book on arrival if there’s a large group of you to get the times you require. The hotel has a great location right on the beach

We declined the first damp, musty room. Second one was tired, tatty and smelled of drains. Bed was very comfy. Pool areas beautiful. Sunbeds comfy but a bit off putting was the “fitted towel” cover - not sure if washed before uses. They were “reserved” all day by families in popular pool areas who rocked up for an hour or two in the afternoon. Hotel had no policy to deal with this. Biggest disappointment, other than breakfast which was fabulous, was the food. We used five of the restaurants. Italian was the best - being average. The others were poor or dreadful. Beach Club particularly bad. Poor quality, sad offerings, badly cooked. Most staff, particularly those at the pools, housekeeping and at breakfast, were delightful and offered a great service against the odds. A handful were disinterested - possibly because they had grown a thick skin being embarrassed by the food on offer. Hotel building overall looks run down, not well maintained and in desperate need of refurbishment which I understand is being done in part in the next couple of months. It’s not just the rooms, but public areas which need upgrading. Lots of uneven steps but a buggy is available. Would not return even after refurbishment unless food is vastly improved. Way too overpriced for what is nothing like other 5* hotels I’ve stayed at. Only enjoyed the holiday as needed a rest in the sun and managed that.

4/5 Because The Staff are Super Kind, Restaurants Are Amazing, Facilities amazing. -1 Star because The Privacy of The Bathrooms In The Rooms are Bad Because there is no lock, the doors are sliding, if you are tall you can see inside the bathroom if the doors are closed & the Walls of the Room are so think you can hear the neighbors. Someone stole the Chalk For the Billiards and they won’t replace it.

Quite simply. Luxury. Amazing set up. The service is perfect, not to much, but so attentive. The food is as good as it gets. The beach club serves up unreal fish and seafood particularly. The octopus, tuna and baby squid starters were off the charts. Main courses of paella and sea bass were as good as you can possibly imagine. If you can afford it. Go.

Our 4th trip to Bahia and feel quite disappointed by a few things after previously oving it and recommending to many. 1. Our room was very average, not as lovely as previous rooms. The pillows are like bricks, the robes would only fit a teenager. It was noisy - the staff seem to shout at each other rather than speak even before 8am. Electric sockets either not working or hanging off the wall. Lovely Molton Brown products screwed to the wall in bottles - very 3* hotel and not as 5* as the individual ones (that I can take home with me as at nearly £400 a night, I feel I've paid for them already haha!) 2. The drinks by the pool are ridiculous prices $4 for a lemonade (See pics) Plus pool staff seem to expect tips even when they get your order wrong, which adds to costs further. You used to get nuts/crisps free with drinks but this appeared to be at the discretion of server this year? 3. The Beach Club is ony open at lunchtime, however, for some reason they clear tables and leave the plates and leftover food on a table at the side of the restaurant. We walked past and there were 8 pidgeons happily eating the leftovers; really not what you would expect at a 5* hotel and really unhygenic. 4. Stopping men entering restautants if they are not wearing the correct attire but allowing children to run around screaming needs addressing and is in conflict of your expectations. I know they are the parents' responsibility but ruining everyone elses meal is not acceptble and staff should be asking parents to stop their children. We had a couple of meals totally ruined. 5. The menus have not changed in the last 4 years and are a little boring if you are a returning customer. Portions are really small - dont go if you have an appetite! 6. This is the first year the gate keeper has not said welcome back to us - Just a little thing but it went a long way. 7. This is an expensive hotel but on many occasions it felt those in the Villas or more expensive rooms were valued more. On the plus side: The majority of the staff are fantastic - shout out to Gabriel (breakfast waiter) and in fact the whole breakfast crew and reception team, who were all a credit to this hotel - I hope they are well paid as they need retaining! The hotel, although in areas is looking a little tired, is still beautiful and very clean, but just seems to have lost something this year sadly. I know you'll reply with a standard issue response saying you learn from feedback etc but I hope you do or within a couple of years your hotel will become a very expensive Butlins with sunshine!

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing Hotel Bahía del Duque and for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly regret receiving this feedback after your fourth stay with us. We would like to emphasize that all our guests are important to us, regardless of the room they stay in, and we strive to ensure that they fully enjoy their stay. We apologize if you did not feel this way. In our continuous efforts towards sustainability, we have decided to replace the small amenity bottles with larger ones, reducing plastic usage and waste. As you know, the hotel offers a wide variety of themed restaurants with different type of cuisine. We regularly update and modify dishes of the menus, always aiming to please the tastes of our guests. As well, we would like to point out that complimentary nuts and chips are still offered as accompaniments with beverages. We have taken note of all aspects that did not meet expectations during your recent stay. These will be analysed with the respective department heads as part of our continuous improvement plan. We appreciate your kind words about our team, especially those at Bernegal and Reception, as well as the hotel's design and cleanliness. Once again, we thank you for your feedback. Yours sincerely, Hotel Management

This was our 2nd stay as a family, having stayed many times as a couple before having children. We are lucky to have stayed in most of the hotels in Adeje and this is by far our favourite. The service is outstanding. If youre looking for a traditional canarian hotel then this is for you. If youre looking for a modern, minimalist hotel this isnt for you. We will be returning again this Summer.

I wish to express my disappointment regarding our recent stay at your 5-star luxury hotel. I typically never write reviews, but I feel it is necessary in this case to inform others about our experience and to express my dismay and frustration. Upon arrival, we were assigned a room that was noticeably worn and outdated, which contradicted our expectations based on the images we had seen. Furthermore, we experienced significant noise from the hallway, caused by a ventilation and laundry room located directly above our door, disrupting our peace and quiet. Even after being moved to another room, our challenges continued with a persistent loud and disturbing noise every hour, seemingly from the pipes or a technical room next to us. This resulted in multiple disruptions to our sleep throughout the night. Most disappointingly, despite paying for an upgrade to a "Deluxe room," we were allocated a standard room that did not meet the expectations for that price category. This felt particularly disheartening as we seldom have the opportunity to take a vacation due to our work situations. We had hoped for a stay that reflected the luxury and quality your hotel advertises, but were met with disappointing realities and an apparent reluctance from the staff to address the issues we faced. We hope this feedback will be taken seriously, and that measures will be implemented to improve the experience for future guests. It's important that potential guests are aware of these concerns to make informed decisions about their accommodations.

We have been coming to the Bahia as a family for many years and we hope to do so for many more years to come because once again we received a warm reception, attentive service and first class facilities. However we would like to see the return of the evening buffet in the Bernegal as it was very suitable for the younger family members
