After a slightly sticky start we have come to love the place .We are now day 7 of 10 and it is superb . THe breakfast choice and quality is outstanding , we have had dinner in 3 of the restaurants and the food was excellent. The architecture, fittings and setting are like nothing we have experienced before. Front of house and room service first class, we will be back !

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like unwelcome guests, having arrived at 7.30pm we were told we could not eat until 9.30pm as the two restaurants open were full, as we were booked in as half board guests I would have thought they would automatically have reserved a table so we could have eaten earlier after a day of travelling. The service issues just went downhill from there, from being advised they had no tea bags at breakfast to having no hand towels in our bedroom to name but a few of the problems we incurred. Unfortunately their 5 star rating did not shine through on this trip and the lack of staff in the hotel was very apparent, Covid 19 can only be used as an excuse so many time’s before you start to wonder exactly what we have paid for on this holiday. Second time we have visited this hotel and it will be our last now as the island has other hotels with higher standards, service and guest care values than the Bahia del Duque

Hotel and facilities all looking very tired and lacking attention, if you are going to stay open through Covid then ensure what you offer for what you charge is top quality. No pool staff available this morning, paths not cleaned and generally lack of interest.

I had a fantastic stay. The hotel is large & it took me a little while to get my bearings, but it made for happy exploration. The design of the hotel won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, indeed, I’m not normally a fan of big scale, pastiche type properties, but it’s all done so beautifully & with no expense spared, in the style of a Spanish colonial village. It’s set in acres of mature, tiered garden, with little bridges here & there, flamboyant staircases & myriad nooks & lounging spaces. The hotel has direct access to Playa del Duque, which is public of course, as is the case across Spain. My room was in the Casa Ducales quarter & was absolutely gorgeous, decorated to a very high standard, with a supremely comfy bed, & small terrace plus additional Juliet balcony. Bathrooms are luxurious in Ducales with excellent showers & a generous selection of toiletries. Staff were outstandingly helpful at all times, providing friendly but professional service. The hotel has a dizzying array of restaurants but sadly many were shuttered during my mid Covid stay. It was a shame not to see the place at full buzz, but the upside was a tranquil, low pressure vibe. Breakfast was a decent buffet spread & my dinner at their Italian Restaurant, Trattoria pretty good. The hotel is a short cab ride to La Caleta & Playa del Las America’s so there’s lots of dining options close by. The hotel is very well run, absolutely immaculate & hot on Covid security. I really enjoyed my stay & felt very pleased with my choice.

Long overdue review on the sensational Bahia del Duque as we stayed in July and seeing Tenerife come out of quarantine last week made me remember what a wonderful week we had. If you are looking for a 5 star resort on the sea in the most gorgeous part of Tenerife then Bahia del Duque is for you. This was our 1st visit to Tenerife as our go to travel company Design Holidays recommended it and we had a super offer. We loved it so much we are going back in 2021 100%
