At a resort town like this, hotels are presented many challenges; while getting coffee this morning, I observed an elderly guest (perhaps in my age category- 70s) suddenly fall to the floor and begin a spasmodic attack. Hotel staff quickly responded, cushioning the head from the tile floor and trying to calm and reassure the man until EMT could arrive. Guests were directed to remain at a distance and the stream of curious was redirected around the incident. Have to award kudos to a staff which responded in seconds and did not merely stand around wondering what to do. So, while I am pleased with my coffee and this morning's pleasant view, I find one more reason to recommend Hotel Los Hibiscus to those wishing a good place to stay in Playa de las Americas, Teneriffe.

Response from Departamento de Calidad allsun Hotels, Otros at allsun Los Hibiscos
Responded May 18, 2023
Dear Greenock100, Thank you for your review, which we have of course checked immediately. We cannot match a reservation made by Jet2 nor the photos you uploaded. Be assured that we comply with all prescribed hygiene guidelines, our employees are regularly well trained. Of course, regular checks, as is usual in hotels and restaurants, are carried out unannounced by external parties. Deviations from the prescribed guidelines cannot and could not be determined. It is possible that there is confusion due to the similarity in the name with another hotel establishment on another Canary Island. Could it possibly be, that you mean another hotel - with a similar name? We ask you to check the name of your booked hotel in this regard. Would you be so kind to confirm if you enjoyed your holidays on the island of Tenerife, please? We believe there has been a location error. Thank you very much for your help, Best regards Management allsun Hotel Los Hibiscos, Costa Adeje, Tenerife

Indeed, as some other guests mentioned, this is a hotel mainly tailored for german people. Here are a few pros and cons, as we saw them: Pros: - it is clean, the personnel is really trying to keep it in order (although everything seems quite old) - the rooms were large enough - slightly smaller than what we were told - bit ok. - the left 4 bothles of water (4x 0.5 l) Cons: - everything is quite old - the drinks - a big joke. All are tap and very low quality - NO Coffee - only a simily imitation of pouder - with a strage taste. - food - not really great. Relatively few choises... - safebox available in the room - but you need to pay for it!! (Really silly) - insects in the room (some kind of strage, small super fast ants. - freezer - old and extemly laud.

We stayed here in November 2016 but I did not manage yet to review this hotel. It is mostly for German clients because of its contract with German Tour operators. But the quality of rooms, staff, food and drinks are quite high. Location is OK - about 350 meters from the nearest beach and close to the Costa Adeje shopping area. Close to the Puerto Colon where you can choose a variety of attractions/trips ... Every night they have shows but not all of them were attractive ... I recommend the hotel!

We booked this hotel via a german travel agency. We knew this hotel was focused on german visitors, but we were fine with that. The hotel is located in the heart of Costa Adeje, just near the beach. Favourite places like Los Cristianos, Siam Park, Siam Mall and Jungle Park are nearby. Staff is very friendly, cleaning is good and food is okay. Only disadvantage is the size of the pool and the amount of sunbeds around the pool. During high season the amount of sunbeds is not sufficient for all visitors. Reservation of beds before 8.00 a.m. is unfortunately necessary when you want to be sure of a place near the pool.

The rural settings of the hibiscos were a sight to be seen, joyous palm trees and 2 spar shops were some of the visual delights we experienced. The sea view was a sea view, the sea could be seen so that was by the by. The apartment/condo complex featured a pool to which me and my homeboy never ventured to as the all inclusive ballas always won the war, we studied them in packs, as long as you were Irish or smoked then you were easily accepted. Unfortunately we are neither which I will lose zero sleep over. Tense. The offer of getting the round in showed generosity by standing in line but no monetary gesture as it was all inclusive. Whatever makes you sleep at night I guess, I for one like horlicks and codeine but as this is about the holiday and not myself I will not comment further and shall stay on course. The restaurant was a fine one with many fine cuisines to feast upon, one evening I myself indulged in fried eggs and salt and pepper chips as my compadre had 13 deep fried cheese bites, the indigestion was a worthy reminder of how rich and cultural the food was- I must commend them however on their mini tuna pasties... Fully beauty. All in all a beauty holiday, I couldn't be an all inclusiver for the whole gag but if you like that sort of thing then full your boots... There are plenty of fried eggs for everyone. But be sure to visit the golden chopstick: finely fettled, flourishing and divine are some words I would not use to describe this establishment but there is a cute cat outside without a tail, coincidence... MAYBEEEE. I was always taught to end on a question when creating a fine article like this, so... Who is gossip girl? Ciao Bella, Lebron
