We visited for a Wedding and felt it is an excellent location. Stayed in the available cottages which are well furnished and kitted out. Delightful location, peaceful, quiet, and comfortable, with very good food, facilities and accommodation. They have a Conservatory for the Civil Wedding ceremony, superb gardens for photographs, and a good sized Banquet room/Marquee. The Wedding Breakfast was delicious and well cooked and presented. The cottages are also available for Holiday rentals, and are well furnished, comfortable, well kitted out and worth a try.

We spent two nights in the cottage accommodation as my sister was getting married on the estate. The cottages set around a courtyard make it the perfect venue for family and friends to stay close to each other and we utilised the courtyard. to host a pre-wedding bbq. Each cottage is very individual and some larger than others. We stayed in Wellington, with views facing the main drive. Lovely little cottage and a good size. Kitchen had a nice seating area. I found the second double bedroom to be quite dark, as the walls are a green colour and the bed was a small double but the room with the ensuite is certainly the best in this cottage. The breakfast baskets are a lovely idea with locally produced apple juice and marmalade being particularly good. The portions of sausages bacon and eggs only really catered for one breakfast not 2 though. It wasn't really a problem for me as I got ready in the bridal cottage (Inn Keepers lodge) so ate there but otherwise we would have had to have asked for another basket. As our weekend here was for a wedding, we didn't really explore the estate a great deal but it is absolutely stunning. Early morning, on the drive to the Inn Keepers Lodge, there were pheasants running all over the place in the morning sunshine - lovely to see. The walled gardens and wedding venue are all gorgeous and well maintained and the service throughout the weekend was excellent. With lots of walks available and a pub not far from the estate, this is a nice place to spend a weekend.

A stunning location for a wedding. Fantastic grounds that are very well kept by the groundsmen. We were there this weekend and I've never been to a better venue for a wedding. There's an orangery where the service took place before we moved outdoors in the glorious sunshine. The fabulous staff served us food and drink whilst we enjoyed the occasion. They were brilliant. Later we moved to the main dining area but took frequent walks around the grounds just to stretch the legs. The food was great and we enjoyed the rest of the evening in this exquisite location. A finer place for a wedding you will not find.

We have just returned from a wonderful four nights in beautiful Crossley Cottage at Combermere Abbey. This is certainly 5* accommodation at its best. Beautifully laid out with everything you could possible want for a relaxing stay. Compliments must go to the cleaning team - it was immaculate and super clean. Quite obviously a lot of thought has gone into the lay out and furnishings of these cottages. The bedrooms are lovely with comfy beds and quality bedding and pillows. The bathrooms are fully equipped and included nice White Company toiletries. In our bathroom there was a super powerful shower which we loved. The kitchen had top of the range appliances and a good shaped table to fit us all (9 people) comfortably. The two lounges were ideal to allow TV/DVD viewing in one and relaxing chat in the other. The gardens and walks were peaceful and relaxing and the two young lady gardeners were kind enough to give us names of some of the plants we admired. Four of us also went on The Abbey Tour which we throughly enjoyed. It was very reasonable and extremely good value for what we got. We were greeted at the entrance by the owner Sarah Callander Beckett, who was charming. She then passed us to our guide who, as we walked around, filled us in on all the history and the stages of the Abbeys development through the ages. No idea how she manages to remember all those facts but she was brilliant! Without exception all the staff we met were so lovely, chatty and helpful. Well done Mrs Callander Beckett and all your Team we thank you for a truly special stay.

We stayed in the Salamanca suite of the North Wing. Yes, it's technically a bed and breakfast, but this is in a class of its own. Opulent decor with the little extras that show the owner has thought through every detail, including water glasses and decanter by Mario Luca Giusti, wonderful selection of coffee table books (certainly not the usual Readers Digest numbers!), complementary slippers and bathrobes. Stephan, our personal 'butler' cum chef was outstanding - friendly yet professional and always willing to help with any queries we had. The breakfast was simply excellent, with many of the ingredients sourced from the Estate. Beautiful, quiet surroundings, including a huge walled garden. Very highly recommended.
