Set in countryside close to Cholmondeley Castle the buildings are a converted school. We dined here at lunch time. There is a reasonable choice of food with starters, mains and desserts. The beer battered Haddock was very good, thin crispy batter and well cooked fish, however the chips are a disappointment, not home made as you would expect for the... More

Stayed here for one night when we at horse show at cholmondeley castle what a great place the lady who booked us in was lovley. The food very good and a lovley breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere would highly recommend it. The rooms were separate from hotel but only 2 mins walk. The bar was heaving at night time great... More

Superb place to eat and drink. Food inspired and traditional all at once! Has a massive gin selection. Staff phenomenally friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Also has a large car park. Can't rate it highly enough 👍

Came here after going on a photo shoot with our dog, we had lunch and I had a broccoli and almond with Cheshire blue cheese tart and it was lovely. Would recommend for a nice pub with gardens the service was good and a pleasant setting.

The Chummers is always good... If they could serve drinks quicker everybody would be happy.. It just takes to long to be served at the bar, a little training and enthusiasm would do the job. Food is always good probably the busiest and best pub in the local area

We stayed here to attend a wedding nearby. The staff were helpful in letting us get ready before the rooms were serviced, using our friends' rooms they had just vacated, providing towels and ensuring we had what we needed. The rooms are lovely, beautifully renovated from the old schoolhouse but with modern amenities. Breakfast was excellent, really good quality ingredients... More

Really lovely converted schoolhouse with lots of quirky things to look at. Visited with family on a Thursday night. Busy for a weekday evening and we were told that we couldn't book in advance so try to get there earlier if you don't want to wait for a table. Food was really tasty, the only improvement would be waitress service... More

We stayed at the Cholmondley Arms with a couple of friends when visiting the Nantwich show. In a very rural location it is in the carcass of an old s hoop with the accommodation in the headmasters house next door It is well known as a Gin pub, having when we visited 366 different types. If you are not a... More

I like the way they have differentiated the pub (with rooms) with great food and gin tasting, etc. all giving it a more modern vibe. Half pint of prawns was retro and cod loin with mussels and samphire in a cream sauce with pesto was excellent. Only criticism is restaurant prices but had to order at the bar and there... More

The surroundings and atmosphere always a pleasure to visit. The food always a bit slow has ranged from an hour to on one occasion nearly 4 hours but we were having so much fun we didn't realise. They had actually forgot our order when it arrived always great the burger is a must.
