Good fun. Full of character, staff very pleasant and lovely lite bites. Shall return. Fitted into 'The Snug' which was perfect for a good chat. Welsh rarebit yummy and BLT. Coffee and naughty flapjacks were also a great success.

As restaurants go, I think they offer superior food that is well presented. I had a delicious mushroom starter followed by roast breast of chicken (slightly 'chewy') and a superb cheese board, all washed down with a decent bottle of Primitivo. Informality is seemingly de rigueur in this place with tables close together, dogs panting, and staff dressed 'any old...

The food here is excellent. Dogs are allowed too. only disadvantage is that you cannot book and gets pretty busy on a Friday and Saturday night. We've sat out in a cold waiting area "out-back" in the past and although there are heaters outside and blankets provided, it is pretty cold in the middle of winter! Food is great though,...

Tried to get a table at 6pm with our two grandchildren.Turned away by surly female staff member and told that we couldn't wait for a table as children are not allowed after 7 pm anyway and they couldn't guarantee that we we would be seated and served by then.I asked if they would throw us out at 7 and she...

Just had a great meal (fish sharing platter and Lemongrass curry). All very tasty and beautifully presented with great service in lovely surroundings. Will be back to try out some of the vast selection of gins when I'm not driving!

I struggled hard with this review as I so wanted it to be better, however I came down to the conclusion that i should remain honest in my review of the accommodation here at the CA. I have noticed that the CA has a separate page on TA for the restaurant so I will do my restaurant review (substantially better...

We called in for a first visit in many years. Only had a sandwich and a ploughmans. Both were very good and large portions. We will certainly go again and have a main meal. They boast of having over 200 brands of gin! After our next visit they may well deserve the extra star.

A very brightly lit pub with too many tables. Not a helpful place if you are Visually Impaired like me and can't cope with very bright lights. I prefer a bit more space between the tables for navigation and privacy. The toilets are quite a trek. I must admit calling them Lavatories doesn't impress me. Nice staff. Menus in very...

Went for a meal with my partner as I have been for lunch before and enjoyed it. It was a regular busy Friday night, our main course was delicious but it took half an hour for the staff to clear our plates and ask if we wanted dessert because they were too busy chatting with what seemed to be friends/locals....
