They did ask us to wear red wristbands but seemed unclear why as wasn’t as all inclusive, and we paid for room only. Within a few days we noticed lots of people around the hotel without wristbands, we can only speculate, but that the demographic difference between us & them was our age. The wristbands seemed unnecessary as we took them off and no one raised it.
Staff
friendly f2f, though there were times we’d go to reception & staff would be talking to each other over us & ignoring us.
Cleanliness
Not very clean! we got placed in a small room (3 people fit into a small double room) which we were fine with, until we got a note saying our room was not going to be cleaned because it was too messy. We had no where to put our cases & minimal space to unpack our clothes (x2 hangers each) so all our clothing remained in our cases on the floor at end of our bed. We complained out this, reception said we could move tomorrow - they said this for 2 days but kept telling us to come in the morning, which did not suit our holiday schedule. On one occasion we had to request clean towels. And we had to request for clean sheets, our sheets were not changed until day 6 of our holiday - and the bottom sheet was not changed at all!
Taxis
We got a taxi nearly everyday from the hotel, despite reception calling the taxis the prices ranges from €19 to €38 for the same trip. Reception never warned us that there’s a fine for not wearing a face mask in taxis, we weren’t informed of this til a taxi driver told us on day 4!
Food/drink
We got lunch & drinks by the pool on a few days. Food was nice enough. The pool staff clearly work very hard but they’re working with a messed up system & it’s understaffed. Leaving one woman to bus plates, do table service & make drinks is not fair.
The hotel is very covid aware and they have put in as many measures as possible to reduce risks..hand sanitisers..social distancing..compulsory face coverings to be worn when moving around the hotel...we witnessed staff reminding guests to put on a face covering when someone didn't have one on...very reassuring!!
There are 3 pools in different courtyards and a combination of sun loungers and double sun beds. We experienced temperatures of 35 degrees+ and the courtyards can be too much at times but there are plenty of shaded areas.
The hotel is just across the road from the beach and entrance is manned by security staff. We didn't particularly like the beach as we found it to be occupied by groups of young males who chose to delink all day and were intoxicated but the hotel has no control over this. A nicer area of beach can be found towards the Arsenal end which is just a 10 minutes walk.
The only down side? Drinks appear to be overpriced. We felt 4.4 euros for 2 small bottles of water was a bit steep when you can buy a large bottle for 1 euro from a nearby supermarket.
Each morning we enjoyed a massive breakfast spread that seemed to never end, then we chose to explore around Majorca, got to the beach, or just relax in our hotel by the pool in the sunbeds. Housekeeping service came daily, never failed, and left everything impeccable and the room was lovely, only miss on our end was we wish we had upgraded to sea view.
We were left very satisfied after staying at this beautiful hotel in such a great location, defo on our list for returns.
The restaurants are civilised, very clean and interesting. The carbs and cakes are fantastic.
We hired a car, so easy to organise.
The beach is a five minute walk and feels a million miles away from my worries.
Felt rejuvenated after our break, couldn’t have been better.
Our room was very clean and nice and bright with everything we needed. Ladies cleaned it well and it was so cool and nice to come back to a clean and tidy room after the heat outside all day.
Excellent pools and no lack of sunbeds and daybeds here there and everywhere!
Food? Great! Breakfast got a bit busy but still there was plenty of food and it was all replenished regularly. Came back a few pounds heavier but it was worth it!
Liked the location by the beach and the local bus into Palma only cost 2 €.
On arrival the reception was busy, but they got sorted quickly. My room was a haven of white, once I put the air conditioning on it was even better. Looked like a new modern bathroom, black taps and a really powerful shower. The sun decks and relaxing areas are all spotless and the restaurant was lovely, nice fresh fruits some nights and hot fresh pastries and rolls in the mornings. The beach is a short ten minute walk and is flat, sandy and really nice, we took a picnic a couple of days and found cafes others.
One of the best holidays we’ve ever had. Top marks.
The headboard shelf was almost certain to crack you on the head as it protruded out.
Bedside cabinet had no handle so you had to break a fingernail to open it.
The television we did not watch as the biggest part of channels had trouble with pixels asked at reception who said they would send some one to fix it but no one did.
The hotel itself was clean with a good variety of food, informative pleasant staff, and well situated for the promenade and beach, also bus 25 to Palma nearby.
Disliked · The food is not great, more to do with how it’s served buffet style, was always cold, felt like it had been sat out a long time. Sadly and unfortunately my fault, not the fault of the hotel…… I booked the hotel, as we were going for a long weekend to switch off. The hotel appealed because it was beachfront, so we could have the best of both, 10 minutes to palma city and days spent on the beach. Sadly I did not realise that ‘playa de palma‘ is the German version of Magaluf. On arrival late evening, I noticed security on the hotel door, was not something I am use to, but went with it. Then once in the room, arrival until end there was a lull of loud, german football songs, chants, and drunkenness. It was constant! The beach, restaurant and shops are just a walk through a passageway from the hotel. But unfortunately they are divided by lap dancing bars, German sports bars and tacky souvenir shops. There are groups of German men in football shirts, drunk everywhere you look, singing, chanting, playing drinking games. The restaurants around are not of any standard and serve German hotdogs, not much more selection, with a football song for ambiance. It’s such a shame for the hotel, because it’s a beautiful hotel. It is very obvious they are trying hard not to let the resort overshadow the hotel, but sadly it is situated in German stag weekend hell, and until the resort changes, the hotel will always battle to keep its standards.
