Nestled close to the beach, HM Tropical hotel is lauded for its enviable location and mesmerizing sunset views from the rooftop pool, creating a wonderful atmosphere that guests love. However, some travelers are critical of the additional costs for beachside comforts and room amenities, feeling these do not offer great value.
While the rooms receive mixed reviews, ranging from basic to comfortable, cleanliness concerns have been noted. The service quality is inconsistent, with both commendations for the staff's friendliness and accounts of occasional inattentiveness.

This hotel is situated right on the beach. I would highly recommend having the sea view rooms. The pool area was lovely with chill out music playing all day. The hotel is very geared up for Germans , couldn’t get one English channnel on tv. Beds were reserved every morning even though there were signs saying not to but this tends to happen everywhere. The food was nice , different themed dishes every night. There is a train stop right outside hotel gate to take you up and down the promenade . The beach was gorgeous but you have to pay 54 euro for two beds and a brolly or 18 for not so luxurious ones. The sea was beautiful, so clear . The hotel isn’t huge and only one pool but it was really lovely. You have to pay for the safe in the room which we wasn’t told about. You can pay ten euros for a towel which you can change every other day and you get money back at end of holiday . You can get to palma on the bus for only two euro it’s worth a trip but palma is massive and it was very hot to be walking around. We went to portals nuit which has some lovely yaughts moored there , also a lovely little beach wheee the sea was Luke warm. Overall the holiday was very chilled , just myself and my husband , would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and location 👍 p.s beds are super comfy and changed everyday .

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your stay with us. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed our great location right on the beach, the lovely pool area with chill-out music, and the themed dinners each night. It's fantastic to know that you found the beds comfortable and appreciated the cleanliness of the hotel. We appreciate your feedback regarding the TV channels and the sunbed reservations. While we do our best to cater to all our guests, we understand how important it is to have more variety and to enforce sunbed policies more strictly. We also take note of your comment about the safe and the towel deposit policy, and we are reviewing our communication to make sure all details are clearly provided upon check-in. We’re glad you had the chance to explore Palma and Portals Nous and enjoyed your relaxing holiday with us. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we hope to welcome you and your husband back for another wonderful stay in the future. Best regards, Joan Llompart Deputy Manager of HM Tropical

Had a lovely few days break here, managing to miss the rain that they had (unfortunately not missing it at the airport which was a crazy mess!).
Hotel was lovely, staff polite and helpful. Was clean and well maintained. Room overlooked pool and beach, absolutely needed the air con as was so hot. Room had hairdryer and small fridge, but no tea/coffee facilities. Mirrors are present but not necessarily where is helpful!
We went bed and breakfast, but ate dinner for one night at €20 per person (same as if booked in advance). Food was lovely, no complaints at all. Big variety of hot and cold.
They offer some gluten free (sin gluten) alternatives which you order with the chef and take 7 minutes to come out and are individually wrapped from 'panamar bakery'. They do seem to fry the eggs on the same hot plate as the pancakes so I stuck to boiled.
Pool- cool and refreshing, gets deep quick! Lifeguard on duty majority of the day. We reserved sunbeds with towels around 8.30am then had breakfast at 9am. Sun all day is in the corner. Roof top- beautiful! Lovely little pool, a few sun loungers and seating area. Did an evening with a DJ and a beautiful sunset. Sea- was like a warm bath. Accessed from pool area and across a walk way. If you want sunbeds go before 11am to get the ones you want. They cost €6 per bed and €6 for the fixed umbrella, timings charged 11am-6.30pm. Totally worth it if you can afford it. They do posher ones that are more expensive if that's your bag.
You can get the little train up and down, it's approx 20 minute walk (longer when super hot!) to C'An Pastilla and about an hour walk to S'Arenal. There are some nice restaurants in C'An Pastilla and some more if you head towards S'Arenal about 15 min walk. S'Arenal we found too busy and touristy, so headed back on the train after watching another beautiful sunset.
Football fans- the Manchester Pub in C'An Pastilla shows prem games but not on a Monday. Most other establishments only showed German or Spanish games (I didn't look too hard though).
We went into Palma on the 25 bus for €2 per person, about 20 mins away. Really worth a little trip there.
Hotel was in the right place, away from the busy busy but easily accessible to it.
Accessibility- ramps everywhere, including pool seat. 2 lifts. Further towards C'An Pastilla was a fully accessible beach area with ramps leading into the sea so might be worth scouting hotels nearer to that area?

High price for medium standard hotel. After the room has been cleaned the floor had stains and some hair whose origin we only can imagine. The bed sheets haven’t been changed at all during our entire stay. The glass panels on the balcony are filthy and it doesn’t improve the sea view that we payed extra for. The entrance door has a gap towards the floor, it doesn’t help to keep noise out. The roof in the room has shoe stains from killing bugs of some sort.
If you get a sun bed in the pool area, don’t leave it for more than 10-15 minutes unattained. If you do that you can search for your belongings in the reception. Of course this doesn’t apply to everyone, it’s more like a lottery with no winners. There’s no specific information regarding this risk, you need to find out the rules by yourself. I have been looking at unattained sun beds for 1-2 h, they haven’t been collected by the staff in order to free up sun beds for other guests! This is the lottery part.

The check in was quick, however, the room was not very large & also not really clean. We had booked a side sea view and looked at the neighboring construction site (our room was on the 1st floor). Stock). After demand nothing was done about the problem and an alternative room could not be offered to us. The room is cleaned only if you put the sign: Please clean up on the door. Unfortunately, everything was also very clairvoyant and you could hear any voices outside and in the neighboring room which was also very disturbing. Every time you went to the toilet from other rooms, you could hear the drainpipe as it was right next to our bed. The bed are two single beds which slide apart super fast and as a duvet there is only one sheet. The food was fine but due to lots of choice, it was unfortunately not always good taste. At the pool you always got a place and there it was very relaxed. If you do not book directly through the hotel you do not have a free safe but must pay for this 4€ p. Day pay what we had never experienced before. Prices for snacks & drinks at the bar are very expensive. Dinner unfortunately does not start until 6.30pm, which is also very late.
All in all it was fine, but we would not book there again.

We will definitely come back! The food (breakfast/dinner) was always delicious & fresh and the staff in the restaurant was always friendly and knew exactly what they were doing. We booked half board, and in terms of drinks we had several choices of juices and coffee in the morning. In the evening we had to pay for all drinks, for that price we would have liked at least a glass of water. The staff, whether in the lobby, bar, restaurant, office, cleaning, were absolutely friendly and professional and very nice. The room was great, the view (direct sea view) was excellent. The room was big enough and clean. The wardrobe was a bit small, but we could still fit everything in. The sky bar is great. The view is fabulous! In general, the prices of the drinks in the bar are OK. The location is far enough away from the party mile and opposite the beach (there is only one lane in between). Booking a transfer is not even necessary, as the A2 line runs from the airport to the hotel very often for €5.
Conclusion: The staff was great! The food was very tasty! We paid a little too much, but that was because we booked too late and were there in high season. We felt very comfortable!!
Thank you all! Saludos de la habitación 202

After staying in a hotel for a week, I expected something more for the money we paid. The beds weren't very comfortable, the bathroom was hot and smelly. Breakfast and dinner are purely British. There's nothing to eat for me. Take breakfast as only it's worth its money and in the evening take a walk to local restaurants but not on the beach as they will take every last dime from you. I want to add one more thing, if you decide to go downtown it's a full-day trip plus whoever has experience in buses and shuttles in big cities you're going to need that experience very much. Even with all these inconveniences we had a great rest. I wish you the same good vacation.

Hotel is very clean and friendly staff, the only downside during the heatwave that is sweeping across Europe it is very very humid (87%) and you do not have control of the aircon in your rooms, there is a thermostat but it does not matter what you put it on it blows out the same warmish air, the engineer was extremely rude to me when we asked him to take a look and then we were informed by reception that the hotel control the aircon in the rooms and the thermostat is just for show, and there is nothing they could or would do about it, I know others complained of the same issue to reception but no steps were taken to rectify the issue. Also I found it strange that the roof top bar was closed to guests on a Friday evening so that they could have a staff party on there, you could attend but had to pay 30 euros to go to the only bar that held entertainment for guests in the evenings. However, the pools are lovely, and it is in a great location.

Dear 808Carleyp, thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is true that we had quite a high heat wave and the humidity in Mallorca is already very high, which means that the thermal sensation is always a few degrees higher. I have checked with our SSTT department and they confirm that the air conditioners can be controlled from the rooms, both the power and the temperature, I am sorry that there was a misunderstanding in that aspect. As for the Sky bar terrace, we have 3 sunset party events throughout the season, which include finger food, a welcome drink and dj. That is why we charge admission, however once we have finished with the food service everyone is welcome to come up to the sky bar for a drink. In addition, on event days we inform our guests of our sister property gran fiesta which is only a 4 minute walk away and has a sky bar very similar to ours. I am sorry this was inconvenient for you. Best regards,

First of all the plus points: the location, the view, the view of the swim-up room, the semi-private pool only for those rooms (shared with up to 20 rooms), the beds and pillows (in one word fantastic!), the quality of the food, good air conditioning.
The downsides: outdated small room, noisy, no 4-star service, part staff not very friendly, no service in lounge bar several evenings, 1 evening in the sky bar, while there was enough staff, completely ignored, disinterest at part of the staff, 1 lady in the restaurant very fake friendly, had some very strange experiences with her in that regard. That is a great pity, because a large part of your holiday feeling is partly determined by that.
Overall not worth the money we paid for it, then you can really find better hotels in the region. Not a 4-star worthy hotel.

We left in the Tropical Hm for ten days and we were not disappointed at all! Normally we were supposed to have a side sea view room but we ended up with a front sea view and in addition to that view of the pool , we were pleasantly surprised! Otherwise the service was top the staff is very smiling and friendly, the location is great in front of the sea with shops and restaurants around and a bus stop behind the Pension! The food also pleasantly surprised us and was delicious , great buffet for all tastes from morning to night. In short, it was a great holiday, I recommend!
