Just returned from my first visit to Lanzarote and the Relaxia Olivina Hotel. We stayed in the annexe with a lovely view of the gardens and pool area. The rooms are spacious with a separate lounge area. Cleaned everyday except Wednesday. The pool areas are lovely with plenty of sun-beds around them. We never had a problem getting a sun bed despite people putting there towels out at the crack of dawn. Food was excellent, plenty of choice at every meal. Enjoyed the alcohol choice especially pulling my own pints as part of our all inclusive deal. Loved all the cats at the hotel who seemed very friendly and made it feel very homely. (I am a cat lover) Would have given this hotel 5* if the pools had been a little warmer
With my husband and two 2,5-year-old children, we were placed in a passage away from the main building, in a room without air conditioning, with ants in the living room and bathroom in 70/80s hotel conditions. The children were placed in the living room on 2 high couches without safety rails and we were placed in the bedroom with 2 couches. Massive disappointment, however, came later when the reception staff informed us that they would not help us move the furniture so that our little ones could sleep safely. Literally, the receptionist (Maria), as well as the Manager (Sara), said that they do not care if it is safe for us and that we can do what we want in the room or we can talk to the hotel Director. A few days later I spoke to the Director and for the behavior of the reception we were given a bottle of wine and fruit available at every meal from the restaurant. Evidently, we became enemies of the reception staff because 26h before check-out we reported at the reception our wish of late check-out due to late transfer to the airport i.e. 21:40 and the receptionist (Urska) when she heard that it was our room she firmly refused suggesting that the whole hotel is booked (which as it later turned out was a perfidious lie). Once again I heard that they do not care what we do with our 2-year-old children after checking out for 10 hours to transfer. I am heartbroken by this behavior of the staff!…
Stayed here for a week from 31.10 till 7.11. Can honestly say we enjoyed it. I’ve read a lot of reviews about the food but can honestly say no one will die of malnutrition. If there is something you don’t like then choose something else Drinks were ok (I had plenty) Only down side for me was the afternoon buffet. Ok if you like cheese & ham sandwiches with no crust. Hotel was very clean Rooms cleaned and towel’s changed everyday except for Wednesday. A 5 minute walk to the nearest shops & bars etc 20 minute transfer What’s not to like
Apart from the food, couldn’t fault the place. The staff are amazing, Lorena in the entertainment team is hilarious. Drinks are available all the time, self service apart from cocktails so you can help yourself to wine, beer and soft drinks. The food is basic; pancakes, churros, omelettes, sausage etc for breakfast. Lunch there is pasta, pizza, meat, rice, chips, fresh fruit, salad bar but ideally the same as dinner. 5 minutes walk to the main road by the beach which has loads of restaurants and bars so you’re never stuck for options if you want to go out to eat. It’s also 10 minutes from the airport in a taxi which cost us €14.50. There are bikes to rent outside reception which is amazing and electric scooters which can be used through an app called “link” and there’s a parking bay for these right outside the hotel. Rooms are huge but quite old fashioned, very low pressure hairdryer and shampoo not provided. The beds are really hard but shower is good. The sun loungers clearly arent cleaned in the evening, it would be quick to have them all hosed down. We paid £550 for 6 nights for the 2 of us all inclusive, you really can’t do better for that price!…
Advertised as 4 star, I’ve been to dozens over the years and this is never 4 star. Food average at best. Repetitive and lots of frozen tasteless ingredients. Rooms ok with refrigerator, tv, decent shower, balcony and beds not too bad, cleaned every day. Pool area ok. Sunbeds a little tired though , pool bar decent with good friendly staff. Pool is shaded most of the day and is freezing. COVID protocols were quite well implemented, face masks were worn in public areas on the whole by everyone and there was plenty of hand sanitizer units around most areas. THE VERY SOUR TASTE I was left with however was the theft of items of CLOTHING! and costume jewellery from my room. It was definitely a cleaning maid as no one else has access to our rooms using a key in the day. I understand peoples hardships over the pandemic but stealing clothing? That’s a first for me. We reported this theft to reception but unfortunately all we received was a few mutterings and a shrug of the shoulders which was a very disappointing outcome therefore I will not be returning to this hotel and will not recommend it to anyone I know.…
